  1. Just, please John, no references to our Tampa 2 defence.
  2. Not sure what "repelling the coaching search" means, but tonight we learned from the WGRZ article that the Bills are still trying to convince Cowher. With this confirmed, we now know that HE HASN'T SAID NO. These things take time, they are multimillion dollar, high stakes deals. It's called negotiating.
  3. Call us the "fat broad" or not, I think THEY have determined that as the underdog franchise they will not be able to take the standard approach but need to literally go the extra mile to show how much they want their guy. Actually I take it as symbolic of how much Ralph wants to win. I think if they try to act as though they are a desireable destination, they have no chance to even GET IN FRONT OF a Cowher or Shanahan.
  4. "Bills 1" and "Bills 2" ? All kidding aside, TWO planes in one day flying between these two less-than-hotbed destinations is a bit of a coincidence I would think. And if you were interested in making a low-profile trip, you would want to fly into a regional airport near his house, right?
  5. Yea, that's how I read it too. Posted that on page 1 of this thread.
  6. Glad to see I wasn't the only one that saw this as a new piece of info. My guess is everyone is so numb right now that all nuance gets lost in the different stories. Now, it will be interesting to see if Chris Brown posts or refers to the WGRZ article containing the Carucci quote. I think we all know that Chris' blog is a PR tool for the team and not really a "news" outlet, but if it's not mentioned it will be further confirmation that, in regard to the coaching search, Chris is clearly being directed what to post and what not to post.
  7. Correct, it's been total silence up until now...so the fans have been left to wonder. And in the absence of any word, many have in fact started to assume that Cowher rebuffed the Bills offer. Now we know that he hasn't (yet), if Carucci is credible on this one. That brings us closer to knowing the current state of play. At least I think so.
  8. Dear Cotton, kindly consider something akin to "Ode to Joy".
  9. Whatever John... So now we have Carucci stating the following: "I do know that the Bills have not let up in their pursuit and have tried very hard - and are trying very hard - to convince him to come to the Bills," Carucci said. So if this is accurate, it means that COWHER HASN'T SAID NO TO THE BILLS YET. And with the Bills in limbo, they fly out to Minneapolis to meet Frazier. Not only that, but they have Chris Brown parrotting media stories about the "business trip" on his blog. Since Cowher is still apparently playing coy with the Bills, might the Bills' trip to Minneapolis be an effort to show Cowher it's put-up or shut-up time? Hopefully they have already thrown out the carrot ($$$) and now they're reaching for the stick.
  10. I've been reading other stories via my blackberry today so I may have missed it, but this is the first story I've read so far that quoted Carucci stating the Bills are MAKING AN ONGOING EFFORT to land Cowher. Getting that part confirmed and updated, was news to ME.
  11. Whew. Nice to know there are at least a few educated folks on here.
  12. A few thoughts: 1) I think Semcken actually is being shrewd by making a play for a team sale in 2010, while the estate tax is not in effect. If Ralph doesn't play ball with Semcken, who seems to have the dollars and desire to buy, in a year when the sale proceeds would not be subject to the estate tax, he's NEVER gonna sell! 2) Semcken is actually doing Bills fans a favor by being a reminder to Ralph that the wolves are at the door and that if he doesn't proactively make succession plan provisions, WNY will lose this team to another city.
  13. That's a huge leap you are making. Just because one guy parlayed his football success into an "easier" TV gig than the other guy, doesn't mean he has less fire in the belly now.
  14. No news from Sal. Beware anyone who states differently - they only heard "what they wanted to hear".
  15. If you gave Emeril Lagasse rotten ingredients and told him to cook you dinner, would you eat what he served you? Not saying Dick and Perry are at the top of their profession, but the results they had might have something to do with the quality of the talent on the field.
  16. No, they are not "first on the list to relocate". They are first on the list to be "targeted". Big difference. And if these teams aren't up for sale or don't want to move, it won't happen. This is a big yawner.
  17. Ralph Wilson's generosity.
  18. Ralph's pros: good heart, great character Ralph's cons: has no business making football decisions, just now realizing he has no business making football decisions
  19. Rafter - like the avatar. Uncle Rico - nice!
  20. Interesting theory. Helps pass the time I guess...
  21. Oh no, Belichick was very vocal about the turf. Houston sports radio was having a field day with that.
  22. Funny, the turf at Reliant Stadium was good enough for Ol' Bill back in 2004 when the Pats* won the Super Bowl there.
  23. This thread is an early nominee for the "Most Deceptive Thread Title of the Year". The article is pure rehash of speculation. There is NO BIG OFFER, and NO INDICATION THAT ANYONE IS BEING ENTICED. Waste of time.
