Popular belief is that is that Belichick wants to surpass Don Shula as winning-est coach in NFL history.

Shula has 328 wins. 71 year old Belichick has 299.

At this rate, Belichick will be coaching until his 80's.

As long as he doesn't get #300 against us, I could care less if he coaches to 100.😁

I have an idea! Why don’t we scramble up all the words and use them in a different order to start a NEW Dorsey thread!

I’m not thrilled with the ups and downs either, but if we put up 70 today can we take a week off from the repetitive bashing threads?

    .

No matter what happens,  someone will complain. I can hear it now. Should have scored on that last play instead of a kneeldown.

  3. I don't want to dunk on Edmunds,  but, he just seemed to be that really big kid that didn't want to hurt a smaller kid. Also seemed to lack that intensity or "Dog" in him.

With Bernard,  he just seems like he is jacked up and wants to hit something/someone.  He also seems to be a communicator. Always moving around, pointing to things, like he sees what's going on and makes sure others see it as well. A little "Froggie" and ready to jump, almost fearless.

As to Williams (My Guy!😁), I didn't/wouldn't think he would come in and outplay a Milano. Replacing an all pro is not easy, but I really like what I've seen so far. Could he? possibly. But let's not get ahead of our ski's. Just hold the Fort and gain some experience. We can have a better conversation later as to the better tandems.

Today will be a good test for our LB'S and I'll be watching closely. 🫣

Dug out two very large Grouper heads from the deep freezer and have a fish broth going in my large stock pot.

Found a bunch of frozen seafood as well -- Clam meat, Baby Octopus, Shrimp, Scallops and large Octopus tentcles.

I will strain the fish broth today and decide tomorrow morning what kind of Seafood Chowder I make for the game.

Sound more like a bait freezer...😱😅

Dorian is either going to have a great game or he will have a terrible game as Belichek schemes against the over pursing rookie as he did to Tremaine when he was a rookie.

    I'm sticking with a GREAT Game.😁

It's Mac Jones!! Lawson and Groot on the outside, and send Williams or Bernard through the gap. No way he out runs either of them. He'll be doing pirouettes back there. 🤣🤣

If he’s not a #2 then he’s a #4. Your 3 wr needs to be a shifty, underneath guy with sure hands that finds the sticks.

Not so sure I agree with this. If we had Say a guy like Beasley in the slot, he would be your shifty, chain mover and could be #2, while Davis could be #3. No? I think it all goes back to "What's a #2 or #3". Targets? Position? Does your #2 have to play outside?

  7. Buy - Harty...(Man, that's hard to say). If any game this season he plays well, I think it'll be this one. Lil' Dirty played well against the Pats,  it's time for him to show better than who he replaced. Earn your freaking keep! (Damn penny stocks!) 🤣

Hold - Diggs. Bill is going to have a plan to try and take him away from Josh. He'll still get some targets, but will be a rough game for him.

Sell - Oliver. Without DJ next to him and a toe injury , I think the Pats go right at him with Elliot and Stevenson. This game is going to test our LB'S.

Why does that make us better I guess is what I’m really asking?

At this point in time it's just conversation with Milano being out. But if we were to get into some weather games, I think it would be better against the run game to have the 3 of them on the field. As it sits now, nickel is probably our best option.

For the life of me I don’t understand why Taron Johnson couldn’t move to outside CB in this scenario. I’ve brought this up before when discussing a 3 safety look. The Ravens had the best slot CB in football in Marlon Humphrey, but would move him outside when needed. Now he’s full time outside.

The Panthers did run a lot of 3 LBs with McDermott as DC when they drafted Shaq Thompson.

I'm not sure Johnson has the speed to play outside. I believe he's a 4.5+ guy and I think he is quicker than fast which I think makes him very good in the Nickle role. Humphrey has the length and speed to play outside and if I remember correctly,  he was projected to be an OCB.

Some of the play calls have  been head scratchers but we had that with Dabs too.

Most OCs have WTF moments. More concerning to me is how ready the offense is going into the games.

How crisp they are executing the plays? How many unforced penalties? How many missed blocks? How many drops or errant throws?

When I  see those miscues, I think they are not ready to play and that comes down to how dialed in they are in practice, and how well they understand the game plan, their roles, their protection schemes.

Last few weeks I would say it has been hard to point at one thing. A missed block here, a dropped pass there, a bad route, an errant throw, a fumble, a penalty...

When those things pile up, the offense looks disjointed and has no rhythm, and sputters to multiple 3 and outs.

IMO we need to clean that up, and then we can get into whatever the game plan on offense was supposed to be.

It's not so much as the WTF momonents, it just seems to be so vanilla.  Throw to Diggs, run from shotgun then throw to Diggs. Just doesn't seem to be any creativity or real flow. Plus running basically the same O that Daboll was running. It just seems stale. No sweeps, barely use our TE's.

I'm not a hater of Dorsey,  I just expected more "creativity" from a QB minded OC. At least Dabs had some gadget plays in his pocket.

With McD being a D minded coach and now running the D I just think he should have a very well experienced OC. Especially because I think he is the kind of coach that puts a lot of trust in the hands of others (delegates).

Maybe I'm wrong and McD is calling for a basic O gameplan and wants to control the game with the D?🤔  Just would seem odd when you have Josh as your QB.

I'll wait to see what the O does this weekend, but if Dorsey doesn't kick it up a notch or two, Whoa Nellie, it's going to get loud around here!😱

    Why? Genuinely asking.

As you can see from my avatar, I like Williams. Bernard is playing great imo, and when Millano gets back I don't think you can keep him off the field (as long as he is himself). I'd like to see all 3 of them on the field and see what they can do together.

I think he's right with his answer.  We're trying to become more balanced in our approach which should bode well for poor weather games, as well as just playoff football in general.  It isn't a finished... product - nor is it ever.

I think its ridiculous to outright ask if you're going to demote your offensive coordinator when the team has some of these numbers.

2nd in NFL in 3rd down conversions.

2nd in NFL in red zone TD%

    5th in yards

    3rd in points

12th in rushing (with allen contributing at the lowest clip of his career)

Factor in Allen having just... a terrible night in NY to start the season, and the offense playing their worst game last week - and we're still up there.  Like what are we doing?

I think sometimes you have to also look beyond stats. Be honest, were you pleased with the teams performance and flow of the Jets, Jax or Giants game? Did any of these games really line up with the stats? I believe we could have played so much better with a better gameplan and play calls. I also think Josh covers up a lot of issues within the gameplan. Thank goodness the D has been playing well otherwise things could be much worse imo.

I know - when Milano is back you have to take a solid player off of the field.

Do we have to? Personally,  I'd like to see more 4-3. And if Milano and Williams can cover in pass plays, it'd be nice to have the extra LB against the run as well. I know it's not our base D, but... TB, Milano and Williams... I like the thought. 😁
