All great points but one thing I can't get past is that they are all past their prime.  A youthful team with a few veterans usually get you there, but that's not what we

Fournette is 5 years younger than Murray (33) and Douglas is the same age as White (28). Joseph may be older, but, still better than anything we currrently have active as a DT1. ALL 3 were very good additions.

We could really use him & Douglas against the Bengals. It will be interesting to see how much both play, if at all.

This is such a key game for the season.  We have left little margin for error with bad losses to the Jets & Pats. Now, the pressure is on to beat the better teams on our schedule.  Feels like we have to win 2 of 3 out of Cincy, KC & Philly..

What's this 2 out of 3 thing? We ARE winning all 3! 😁

  3. IMO, they didn't want to and won’t trade him. One of the main reasons why, I believe, they brought in Norman to help him learn the D and learn how to really play Zone. He has the physical attributes to be a very good CB and we did see flashes at the end of last season. White was busy working on himself and I don't think McD really has time right now to provide enough support and we don't/didn't have the experience from others to step in and help. I also believe that Douglas will be able to help him over the next several months. I think adding those 2 as "mentors", it could really aide to his improvement and ascension to being the CB we were expecting. Some people just need more time and support. I'm going to go out on a limb (could absolutely be wrong!) and say, Elam will be our #1 CB next season and (unfortunately) be White's replacement.

OK, I'll take off my rose colored glasses now.😁

Yeah, but I don't have to keep my head on a swivel when I am outdoors looking for gators who may be randomly in the area.  😂

Or have to freak out every time I open my door because there might be a flying cockroach that gets in and causes an infestation. 😂

    Very true. I live on a canal!🤣

I concur 100%. I suspect you are talking about all the negativity. However, it cuts both ways here. For example, look at when the Bills acquired Beasley and ZBrien last year. Many and I mean many were taunting how they would be difference makers. Just look at every draft pick made. Many and I mean many think the picks are fantastic.

Yes, the negativity is bad here but the homerism is equally out of control.

That's the beauty of this forum. However, too many people take exception to others opinions because it doesn't fit their narrative. I mean I get the troll accusations often for my negativity. It is what it is...

It does go both ways. And in both cases, I tend to bite my tongue. I was raised to listen twice as much as you speak ( 2 ears, 1 mouth 😉). The difference with Homer's,  is I expect that on a fan message board. The negativity is just surprisingly high for being "Fans" of a team. Don't get me wrong, I can certainly be negative (in the case of Dorsey, imo), I just can't see how people can live in that world so much. I'd have to be heavily medicated to be that way...🤣

Constructive criticism and opinions,  I can handle (mostly). 😁

Trolls, well, I'll leave that to others to decide who they are. Some people just need a lot of attention. Not my thing. Probably one of the reasons why I refuse to sign up on X (twitter).

    Yeah he's a great fit.

Doesn't help their lack of a WR2........and that's been a huge factor for teams reaching SB's for a long time now...........but they should get good play from Rasul next year as well so even if it's ultimately for naught this year Douglas isn't just a 1/2 season rental.

We have a 2. Dalton,  we have a 3, Davis, we have a 4 in Shakir, we have a 5 in ?? Or flip them around however you want. Whoever you want it to be. We have plenty of weapons to get the job done. Doesn't have to be a WR title to be our #2. Sorry we didn't pick up a WR of your liking/choosing. 🙄

Well obviously I hope you're right. I'm not trying to be negative just don't see us matching up with them. Their defense isn't great but guess what? Ours looks as bad. Their offense right now is probably better or at least more consistent. People here aren't just being negative for the most part. Objective and negative are different things. I've ,I think, objectively thought our defense wasn't as great as many think. I've thought that before injuries and frankly for more than this season. Fan since inception but just saying this is how I view it.

I think there is more negativity than objective thoughts around here. More so lately.

I've had to step away a few times lately and bite my tongue. Not that it's a real resemblance of many great posters around here, but, the GDT almost makes me want to shoot myself (kidding of course) just look at the Douglas threads from yesterday,  half the comments were ridiculous,  let alone from people that had NO IDEA what they were talking about. I don't block people because I like to see everyone's thoughts and opinions,  but some OMG!! It hurts to think about...🤣

Exactly what I want, because I am an eternal optimist, which is why when they don't perform I'm here often blaming the coaching.

This is a team that has had a very good chance to win the Superbowl the last three years and they have not.

Every playoff loss has been terrible (couldn't score vs. Jax, collapse vs. Houston, spanked by yes probably a better KC team, 13 seconds and an unmotivated, piss poor effort  vs. Cincy).

To me me there is one common thread and that was the coaching/decisions/play calling.

Name me a game in the last 5 years where they really stepped up?  I will say Dallas in 2019 & KC 2021 are the only ones

I'm not saying the team is without flaws or the coaches have been perfect , but, last year was Dorsey’s 1st year, they made a change at DC this year. So they have seen what we've seen and are trying to improve. Personally, I think people are stuck on the destination and not the journey. Last year we could have gone 16-0 during the season (16-1 if I included what I think would've been the outcome of the Bengals game) if not for a botched fumble by Josh at the goal line against the Vikings, a choked pass by Josh to McKenzie in the Miami game and a windstorm game against the Pats. None of those losses are on the coaches. We beat the Dolphins in the PO's and yes we puked against the Bengals. Under the circumstances,  I can at least understand why. Honestly,  I'm tired of hearing about "13 seconds". Was it bad, yes, but it's not like we were playing some chump team and didn't play well.

This year hasn't been the greatest of starts, but we know we are going to get everyone's best game. Better to start slow and improve than to start fast and fade. We are 5-3 and about where I expected to be at this point. This Bengals game will tell us what we need to know and I'm looking forward to the win.😁

I'm not sure what it is, I just think too many people think other teams and coaches are better or value others more than the Bills players. Such as Burrow. I think he is a good QB, but don't think he is on the same level as Mahomes or Allen. IMO, Mahomes and Allen bring players up around them, I think Burrow is brought up by the players around him.

Wish we were playing the Cincinnati  of early season. Unfortunately don't feel good about this game. Think their offense is licking their chops against our D.

Didn't a lot of people say the same about the Dolphins with Hill, Waddle and Mostert? That Didn't turn out too bad. I just don’t think people give enough credit to the Bills and what our O is capable of when Josh is on his game. I think Josh will be ready, the O will control the game and the D will handle their business. Bills will win this game!

I assume once he learns the defense.  May take a couple of weeks.  I expect him and Benford to be the two starters with Jackson being the backup.  Also can kick inside if god forbid something happens to T. Johnson.  I would've preferred a true shutdown #1 CB.  That's nearly impossible to find at the trade deadline though but he's a great consolation prize.

He's also big enough and has the ability to drop back to Saftey next season if Elam figures it out. Options, options,  options.  I like it!

With any other team I’d stay yeah. Remember the way we messed around with Hines last year? Might as well not even done that trade then he got hurt this year. I hope they just let Douglas get in there but I doubt they will. We are very strange with roster management. I’d like to see both he and Fournette immediately but I’m expecting to be disappointed with usage. Hoping to be wrong.

I can see why they hold back on the O, but have they held back on the D side? Trying to remember the last time they brought in someone on D during the season and didn't play them.🤔

  12. As long as we wear the proper cleats, we will be fine.😉

Have a feeling they have been preparing for this game much longer than just this week. I expect more of a run game early on O to get a feel for the game unless we are down early. Then I expect them to unleash hell (Allen) on them. No holds bar, full on Superman and Dorsey just to sit back and watch the JA show! 😁

    Bills will win this game!
