Yep. 1988 showed they were slow as an offensive team. Most pieces were there. Chain movers were there, but needed quick strike ability. Got the speedy vet (I think you mentioned this) and drafted one of the fastest guys in the draft. Could see Jags doing that for Lawrence this offseason. Speedy weapons and OL for TL.

We just said the same things. Reminds me of the 1988 Bills. Reed and Burkett were good possession WR but not burners. The Bills went out and got Lofton and Beebe to fix that the next season. Didn't bear fruit until 1990 though.

Jax is not really built to score quickly. Kirk and even Zay Jones had nice seasons, but they aren't burners. It's a dink and dunk offense. As I type this Engram has a 24 yd play. Not sure the horses are in the stable for Jax. I would like to see them battle back and make it respectable though.

Carr will find a few good places and situations he could land. Ravens - for all the reasons noted in the thread Dolphins - offensive coach, great weapons, playoff team, offensive minded coach Jets - team has a great defense, something he did not have with the Raiders. Good young weapons, Hall/ Carter etc to take pressure off of passing game Seahawks - good weapons, West Coast, weaker conference, steady coach, rebuilt OL, Walker balances offense Depends on what Carr wants to do at this stage of his career.

the starting CBs (White, Johnson and ?) Don't let this young QB hit a few quick strikes with good YAC to Hill and Waddle and gain confidence. An early pick or quick tackles to negate YAC can start creating some doubt and frustration to set in.

Not a fan of Sammy Watkins at all. This is also a perfect case of people in glass houses (bodies) shouldn't be throwing stones so most of us do not miss the irony of it all. That said, he does speak some truth.
