Fun fact:
We traded Ferguson for an undisclosed draft pick in 1986.
The pick ended up being a 7th rounder.
The Bills used the selection to take Mark Pike!
Winning move!
Yeah, in his best year he threw 26 Td's!
But ,in the same year he threw 25 interceptions! So there is that. Lol
Joe Ferguson was never ,and I mean never, was considered one of the best Qb's in the league.
I remember former Bills scout AJ Highsmith( He is now director of scouting for the Titans) raving about Elijah Moore the week after the Jets picked him
Highsmith said that Elijah Moore was his draft crush
Also, Lance Zierlien in his scouting report on NFL.com had Moore's NFL comparable player as Antonio Brown.
I have always been an Elijah Moore fan.
I think he has untapped potential because he has played with middling teams and had poor QB play.
Get 'er done Beane!
Not the most exciting list of UDFA's to say the least.
I realize agents steer their clients to teams with the best possibility to make their roster.
Though, I thought we might get a semi- legitimate LB,Punter'and WR in UDFA.
After the draft I spend the evening looking at clips of all the players the Bills drafted.
I ask anyone wondering about the Hawes pick to put his name in the search box on YouTube and enjoy the clips!
He is an incredibly gifted run blocker and has no trouble taking on DL, LB's and DB's.
I know enough about Bills fans in my years following the team to realize that we love physical, tenacious players. He's going to end up being a fan favorite!
Great pick!
Another player in the 7th round that could be a special teams demon for the Bills is Eugene Asante, LB, Auburn
Second fastest LB at the combine and plays with urgency and energy.
His 10-yard split of 1.52 sat atop the linebacker leaderboard as well, and he posted 21 reps on the bench press.
