  1. The one guy I really want in free agency is Ryan Jensen, formerly of the Ravens. He's a center who is versatile and had a great year. He's got a really nice mean streak, he's the guy who went after Alonso after the chap shot to Flacco. He loves Castillo and generally give some hm props for his success. I'd like to see him brought in and Groy get a shot at RG. Jensen is just 26 years old and has played some guard and tackle as well. I also like Conor McDermott as a possibility at RT.

3.4 a carry on a ton of 3rd and short stuff last year - and their o-line was absolute garbage in 2016, and not particuarly great in 2017.  I'm not saying he's fantastic, but Fournette averaged 3.9, and only had 3 games all year where he was above 4.

Our defense was very mediocre against the run, and we bottled up their run game pretty handily in the playoffs.  I suspect a lot of teams did that the last 2 years.

I sat in a clinic with their o-line coach Pat Flaherty last week. Great guy who coached the line for the Giants during their Super Bowls. The two things I learned watching their coaches film is that Cam Robinson has a some potential and their line is not very good.

He he also spoke highly of Fournette and Ivory.

So you think Elway does crack?

Probably yeah. Most of these people do tons of drugs actually. I do think that when the dust settles Allen goes number 1. It could be the Browns or somebody trading up. I don't think he is the best player in the draft. I think Elway wants a quarterback that most reminds him of himself, that would be Allen and his 80 yard bombs in my opinion.

I feel bad for Spielman..he's put his time in doing college on ESPN and then getting hired by Fox for a top three regional crew. He's one of the most under the radar color commentary guys on the tube in my opinion...he's been there..did it well and explains the trenches of the game in depth...kind of like Madden used to.

Agreed. I like Speilman's work a lot. I don't think the TV executives like people you know in depth thinks about the game. They like the generic talking heads so the fairweather fan can understand.

TV people think audiences are ridiculously stupid and dumb things down for them. I remember when I worked for Vince McMahon, we fired a young up and coming wrestler named Elijah Burke. We had another budding star in Kofi Kingston...Vince decreed that one had to go because the audience would be too confused to tell the difference between them. (They happened to be two African American guys who looked nothing alike). But yeah that's how TV people think.

I like Woodhead too, but he's 33 and can't stay healthy.

I suppose he could come on as a 3rd down back who already knows the offense. We would have an old running back room, but three older quality guys could make it a good job share. I think you draft a young guy and carry four Rbs and DiMarco.

And I would definitely look into Maclin. If we can sign a reciever who won't count towards comp picks, we will be in really good shape going into free agency and the draft.

It is. And with all the teams being discussed I can almost guarantee there is at least 1 team hiding in the shadows...lurking. Something sure smells "fishy".

Oh I like the lurker idea. Ok possible off the radar lurkers:

Houston- I know Watson looked great but he is hurt and was playing in a revised college offense, same thing Shannahan did for RG3. I fear that when O'Brien decides he wants Watson to run his full pro offense, he will struggle. They could sign Cousins and flip Watson for a first.

Bengals- They could easily sign Cousins and trade Dalton with little cap ramifications.

    Possibly our Bills as well.

I could see the Dolphins or Ravens, but they have zero cap.

Just something to consider......the last 6 QB's drafted in the first round were all selected by teams who traded up to get them.  Given the number of teams needing a franchise QB, and given that next years class looks awful.....draft day is going to be a frenzy of trades.  Cousins signing with the Vikings will hurt the Bills.

Cleveland...(it is Cleveland) should take a QB at 1.  Cleveland can deal the Bills another blow if that QB is NOT Allen because Denver will then call the Giants about moving up from 5 to 2 to take him.  If the QB Cleveland opted for was Rosen or Darnold, then the Jets will look to move up to 3 for Mayfield.  Cleveland will then be delighted at 4 to take Barkly, Fitzpatrick, Chubb...whoever they want...the Giants at 5 could have tons of options..take Chubb, take Fitzpatrick...they could go Ellis...or trade out again...or if the QB still left is the one they covet...Darnold in this case..they might do that.  Colts at 6 will still have something nice to take, then you are literally looking at Mason Rudolph and Lamar Jackson.  With Arizona needing someone, and possibly Miami, New Orleans, Baltimore, Cincy....lurking ....none of them are that likely, but I'm thinking the top 4 are gone by pick 7.  and all via trade up except Cleveland.  .....The Bills are going to have to be very aggressive...there are more teams that want one of these guys than there are guys to take.

It is definitely going to be a crazy draft. I think free agency affects this as well. Who are the non-bridge quarterbacks? Guys that are not going to want to go to a place that is going to draft a young guy? Cousins obviously, McCarron? Bridgewater? Bradford? Foles?

I don't miss Gailey at all with his smoke and mirror offense. Five WR sets with one good WR. If it wasn't for Ryan Fitzpatrick Gailey would have been fired much sooner in Buffalo and NY then when he was.  Gailey got the Job in Buffalo by telling Wilson he didn't need expensive star players to win games. Probably why his W/L% was .333 during his time in Buffalo.

The man was a supposed QB guru and Fitz had stated that until the team hired QB coach David Lee that nobody had worked with him on his footwork, mechanics. Meaning that it was all Fitz from day one. Nevermind the fact that Lee really screwed up Fitz that season in attempting to correct some flaws.

I know we are kind of changing the topic, but I have to say I really don't blame Gailey for that. Ralph Wilson was known as one of the cheapest owners, so a lot of those staffs were bare-boned staffs. Gailey was a great offensive mind who was simply not cut out to a head coach. That was his ultimate downfall. But that was pretty much my favorite offense since Kelly. Bledsoe with Kevin Gilbride was pretty good as well.

  9. I'm not sure the Eagles can get too greedy when it comes to Foles. He just kind of re-discovered his love of the game, so I'm not sure he will be okay with getting traded anywhere. I could see Minnesota or Arizona. I think DeFellipo is going to want to bring back Bradford or bring in Cousins. I think Arizona makes a ton of sense because Foles has a cheap contract, they have very little in the way of cap, he's a good fit with Mike McCoy, and he played at Arizona U. The Cards also really need to consider signing a vet to go with Larry Fitzgerald for the last few years of his career.  I think the Bills could make some sense from a culture standpoint and familiarity with the coaching staff. I could also see Denver if they can't get Cousins, though I am not sure if Foles would like being in a spot where John Elway is breathing down his throat. (I think Elways wants Josh Allen anyway)

2018 NFL Mock Draft: Dolphins trade up for Josh Rosen; two freak defenders in Top 10

    2018 NFL Mock Draft:

MIA.png4. Miami Dolphins (via mock trade)

Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA. The Dolphins aren't afraid to be aggressive, that's for sure, especially with Mike Tannenbaum in a key role in that front office. Given the structure of Ryan Tannehill's contract, his health and age, Miami looks to the future with Rosen, a Jay Cutler-ian quarterback prospect who's more polished than Cutler when he entered the NFL.

    BUF.png21. Buffalo Bills

Mason Rudolph, QB, Oklahoma State. If Rudolph gets past Miami, Baltimore and Los Angeles, he should be there for the Bills at No. 21 overall. They can't pass on him. He's an experienced pocket passer with nice downfield touch and some mobility.

    BUF.png22. Buffalo Bills from Chiefs

Vita Vea, DT, Washington. Vita will be an instant-impact run defender the moment he steps on the field in an NFL game. He also has high-level athleticism and an impressive arsenal of pass-rushing moves. He'll be the foundation of the Bills' defensive line renovation.

Trapasso has a hard on for Rudolph. he is the only person who keeps mocking him to the Bills. I think he goes in the third.

  11. Mayfield is a gamer for sure. I just don't think coaches and GMs can convince themselves he is the guy. I think if you are going to be small you have to have some qualities that make you super special. Wilson is really athletic with huge hands, and absolutely no red flags. He went in the third. Drew Brees was a special passer who scanned the entire field during his college career in an early spread system, but he was pinpoint accurate with the football also had plus 10 inch hands. Also squeaky clean and went in the second round.

I think we are  asking a lot of GMs to overlook everything about Mayfield and convince themselves that this is the guy they are going to hitch their careers to. Athletically, he is not super special. If you look at the  numbers, he tested similar to Brees. A small quarterback better be an unbelievable athlete, or a pinpoint precise passer. Even when they are, they still don't go in the first round. Add red flags and such and it just doesn't add up. I like Mayfield, but I do think its Rosen, Darnold, Allen, and honestly I might hitch my future to an elite athlete like Lamar before Mayfield. I actually think the Saints should draft him at the end of the first and groom him behind Brees. I doubt he lasts that long.
