Kupp hasn’t been healthy in 2 seasons. I have very high concerns that he will be the 2021 version of himself in 2024 at 31 years old.

He was very good in 2022 before his catastrophic injury. He started coming back to form a bit last season. We will have to see what happens. But a healthy in form Kupp, I'm taking over Aiyuk

Why wouldn't I care about age?  The issue is "which receiver would you rather have right now" because that's the decision any team wanting to sign Aiyuk has to ask, not "Who has had the more impressive career accomplishments?".  No GM would take K Allen, Evans, Diggs, Adams or Kupp over Aiyuk right now and that's probably also true regarding Nakua, Olave and Wilson, even though they are really good young players.  Tee Higgins is a pretty good comp, but Aiyuk is more explosive and just had a much better year than Higgins, who has been somewhat injury-prone.  Aiyuk is about to sign a top four or five WR contract, that's for sure.

It's about which WRs are top 10 guys right now. Of course I would take age and potential over a 33 year old guy but if a 33 year old guy is better than the 25 year old guy right now, I am going to acknowledge that.

Give me a break...Nakua's played one year in the league and Kupp has had two down years in row.  Keenan Allen wouldn't even sniff the top 20 at this point in his career and Diggs, Evans, and Adams are all over 30 and noticeably in decline, although all can still play...Olave is a good player, but there's absolutely no reason to think he's better than Aiyuk at this point in his career.

Ok. You need to stop caring about age right now. If you wanted to give me Keenan Allen at Aiyuk's age. I'm taking Allen all day. And Adams had Garoppolo and Aiden O'Connell throwing to him last year and you're gonna say he is in decline? Lol. Give me Mike Evans right now at Aiyuk's age and I am taking Evans. I actually forgot about DJ Moore and maybe Garrett Wilson. Kupp had a catastrophic knee injury 2 years ago and just bounced back last year and got more into form as the year went on. Healthy, I'm taking Kupp. They are just better than Aiyuk, sorry

The only ones I can name who are definitely better Aiyuk are Jefferson, Chase, Hill...maybe AJ Brown...maybe I'm forgetting a few, but that's about it.

I'm all ears...who are the WRs in the NFL who are definitely better than Aiyuk?

Jefferson, Chase, Lamb, Hill, AJ Brown, St. Brown, Kupp, Davante Adams, Mike Evans, Chris Olave, Nakua, Keenan Allen, Garrett Wilson

I would put Aiyuk more on the Jaylen Waddle, Terry McLaurin, Amari Cooper, Michael Pittman, DK Metcalf level. But he is top 15

    So would I.

I guess I’m just saying the production is there and the eye test is there.

What 10 WR’s do you have better than Aiyuk heading into 2024?

Where do you rank Tee Higgins and do you think Aiyuk is really that much better than him right now? To me, at this point, if you traded for either one, you would be getting the same player

I think it’s probably fair to say he is projecting into the top 10 in the future.

    Lamb

    Hill

    St Brown

    AJ Brown

    DJ Moore

    Puka

those were the guys with more yards than Aiyuk last year. And I don’t think Moore or Puka are better than him.

Combine that with the 3-4 guys who will likely age out of top 10 status in a year or two (Diggs, Adams, Evans, Hopkins?) Aiyuk is definitely in the conversation.

I'm not just going by yards. I'm going by the eye test. Jamaar Chase isn't on that list and I would take him over Ayuik every time. Aiyuk is more Tee Higgins to me right now than anywhere in the top 10 category

Aiyuk is absolutely a No. 1 WR.  He’s a top ten WR in the league.

Really? I wouldn't say that. If you wanna get into top 15 or top 20, I will listen

DeVonta Smith just signed for approximately $25 mill per year.

Me thinks Aiyuk is now off the table.  Contracts have seen an uptick.  From Cousins, to Jacksonville Josh, now Smith.

    Me thinks so too

is that I now believe the narrative on Josh and the Bills in general has changed. We are now according to the media a non contender. We lost both our top two receivers and one being a top five guy in Diggs. We had to let go of our safeties, our Center, and our best pass rusher from last season.

The window is closed. The Bills won't be a threat, and Josh has a rag tag group to throw to

This to me opens up the door for Josh to elevate his game this season...to stay within himself and the offense to put up a phenomenal season which will give the media no other option but to recognize his greatness and finally let him win his first MVP award.

This team is not what the media is portraying it in my eyes, but that doesn't matter because they have already decided we are worse, that Josh has no real receivers, and that we are yesterday's news.

It's a good spot to be in for not just the team, but for Josh and his MVP chances

    The 1pm truthers right now

    Matt Milano.

The all pro best LB on the roster, whos replacement was already drafted.  Would it be crazy for them to trade him now on an attempt to move up? Possibly.

But he has had some availability issues over the years. And the negative is him coming off a knee injury, but otherwise this would be a perfect sell high moment.

If a team was willing, it would be perhaps the best way to move up without sacrificing a boatload of future picks

The only issue is that a team trading for him would take on his guaranteed contract. $4.7M total for 2024 & 2025. There have been recent trades where guaranteed money reverts back to the original team if the player is cut. I’m not interested but I’d want us to insist on that if we did acquire him.

I'm not really interested either. If he became a free agent, maybe but not a trade

The Titans traded for Calvin Ridley which doesn’t bode well for Burks. Having DeAndre Hopkins, Ridley and the #7 pick overall in this year’s draft puts them in the right position to select one of the top 3 WRs.

I believe that Beane is going to move up in the draft for either Brian Thomas Jr or Adonai Mitchell but adding another WR is still a real possibility. Being a former 1st rd pick that hasn’t stayed healthy makes Burks expendable. If Beane could get him cheap that would be a low risk high ceiling WR prospect for the Bills imo.

I mean....if the Titans would give him up for a bag of chips I guess it would be alright

It bothers me every time I hear about the large number of picks the Bills have.  Their actual draft capital is middling this year.  They currently have 11 picks, but only 2 in the top 125.  Sure, it’s nice to hav an abundance of 4th, 5th and 6th rounders - they’ve done reasonably well late, but realistically if they get 1 or 2 guys that contribute as a starter or key backup out of those picks they would be doing quite well.

Regarding a big trade up, I’m not saying that Harrison, Nabers, Odunze aren’t very good, but realize that LSU had a top 3 QB in Jayden Daniels, Malik Nabers AND Brian Thomas Jr.  and they were very good, but did not make the 4 team championship playoffs.

I just feel like if there was a year to try and get a possible Jamarr Chase type player that we usually don't have the chance to get, this is the year

  12. If we still had Diggs, I think a trade into the top 10 of the draft was very small. I honestly think that is a realistic option now. It would not surprise me to see up go up to get Nabers. Joe Bascaglia mentioned this as well and still had us walking away with 9 picks in this draft even after the trade. We have 2 2nd rounders next year now so anything can happen

    Von miller contract

    Dawson Knox contract

    Stephen diggs contract

Defense line draft picks that never pan out

Defense tackle signings that are not good enough

    No reliable pass rusher

    Wyatt Teller give away

    Edmunds

Just curious why he is so highly regarded when these issues have come to roost fully

Von Miller: if you don't understand why he did it. There's no help for you

    Dawson Knox. Yes, bad contract.

Stefan Diggs: Again, if you don't see why he did it at the time, there's no help for you

You are correct. The Dline picks have been pretty disappointing.

No reliable pass rusher. Pretty much the same as the dline argument.

DT signings: Ed Oliver, Daquon Jones. Those are just fine.

Wyatt Teller: to his defense wasn't THAT great when he was with us but yes, Beane probably gave up too early.

Edmunds was highly regarded out of college. Can't really fault him for that pick. He was a major need at the time

All in all. Chill the f out

Is anyone else more disgusted than usual with the media regarding the Diggs trade? Virtually every Bills centric media member was dismissive about the possibility of him being traded beforehand. Some went so far as to be rude about it and acted like people making the suggestion were idiots for even thinking it was a possibility.

Fast forward to the aftermath and I’ve yet to hear one utter anything in the way of a mea culpa. I literally heard one of the more dismissive ones start off their podcast with “Well, it finally happened!” Like it was something he’d been expecting.

It’s a good reminder that so many media people are just playing a game. I shared here that an NFL reporter who’d been in Vegas for SB week had said that the big rumor among teams that week was that the Bills would be trying to trade Diggs this offseason. I don’t write that here to LAMP. But if it’s something that can make it to someone like me, how do they not hear it. They’re supposedly so well connected. Or is it that they collectively kept a lid on it? I dunno, either way it’s not a good look. I lost a lot of respect for many of them.

I think it was because it was a complete shock. When you looked at the money factor, it almost seemed a virtual impossibility. I can see why they felt that way

A full rebuild? No. But there's a wild amount of moving parts and new faces to expect everything to gel and have continuity right off the bat and not miss a beat.

There's nothing that they have done that I really feel will effect much. They were all aging players that were the downsides of their careers and too expensive to keep. A rebuild to me means you're tearing it all up. It also means to me that they feel what they are doing isn't working. I personally feel those guys were all let go because of their cap numbers and age and injury history. Not because they felt the need to just start over
