I'm just glad it's here so the draft-industrial complex will go away for another 10 months or so

Don't forget. They have to grade every team's draft and designate winners and losers before any of the players take a snap! Very important...

Joe tripling down on Cooper Dejean this morning .. he would “love it at 28”  .. even over  Legette who he likes at WR 4…

Part of me is hoping to see the meltdown here … sometimes I just like to watch the world burn

I think he is just realizing that picking a receiver at 28 isn't that different from picking a receiver at 60, value wise.

But I'd still like to see a receiver in round 1, personally, even if they need to trade up for Thomas. I just don't see them trading up high enough to get one of the top 3 receivers, though.

If we get Thomas or Lagette, I'd be happy.

Don't remember hearing that. Not a lot of young receivers can help in the run game. That's yet another reason to wait at 28 or even trade down a few spots (maybe; not sure if it's worth the risk) for Legette.

I wouldn't be opposed to a small move up for Thomas but keeping our picks and getting Legette is what I'm hoping for.

I don't think Legette will last very long in the 2nd round. All it takes is for one GM to be enamored with his elite physical traits. I'm sure there are plenty of NFL decision makers enamored with him and willing to take a risk. I think he'll go within a few picks if he makes it to the 2nd round.

If the Bills want Legette, they should pick him at 28, in my opinion.

He lost me with Xavier Leggette as round 1 and the 4th receiver on the board over Brian Thomas Jr. I've watched a lot of these and nobody has ever been that high on Leggette. It reminds me of when Chris Trepasso had Mason Rudolph as his QB1 and said he would be the next Marino. I think these guys try to be controversial on purpose so if it pans out then they look smart

He has been saying this for months now. He likes Legette more than Brian Thomas. This is not a draft projection, this is how he graded them. He is higher on Legette than most. He isn't trying to be controversial.

I get your points, and Legette may be great,  but Mitchell and Thomas have better production over 3 seasons than Leggett does Leggett does over 5. Mitchell also has 3 TDs in the CFB playoffs.

When you grade players, production is secondary. You are looking at traits and skills. Dawson Knox had ZERO touchdowns in college. Zero. But he was still seen as a 2nd or 3rd round pick because of his traits and skills. You have to try to project all of these guys into the NFL. Some with tremendous production end up flopping in the NFL (Zay Jones, although he picked it up later in his career some).

Wowzer, you have the OPPOSITE of grade inflation on all of these guys.

I think ALL of the QBs you mentioned go in Rd 1.  I thought you would mention Caleb Williams and his mental stability and prowess to be a leader.  His crying episode with his mom is a serious red flag to me.

QB's always get over drafted, though. I think he is trying remove that aspect in his grades.

  6. Good to start underrated. But I think they lose credibility by having the Dolphins above the Bills. How many years do we need to do this? The Dolphins get overhyped in the off season only to lose the division to the Bills. The same thing will happen this year.

I'm more concerned about the Jets with Aaron Rodgers, because they are a complete unknown. We know the Dophins. If you think the Bills have a problem getting over the hump, what do you think about the Dolphins?

The Ravens and Cowboys are predictably overrated, like they always are. The Eagles are flawed. The Bengals get a pass for last year, but they weren't exactly looking great before Burrow went down anyway.

I'm not sure how much higher the Bills should be, but the teams above them are not necessarily better, in my opinion, and the case could be made that some of them are worse.

  7. Probably none, but I was never a QB. I bet I could catch a couple of passes, though. I was a pretty good receiver in my day. 6'3" and I could run a 4.5 40. Probably couldn't run a 5.5 these days, though.

Lol at anyone saying anything other than zero

Come on. I could complete a tap pass or quick shovel pass to a TE or running back... if I don't fumble the snap.

I've never lined up under center to receive a snap before. I'm more worried about that.

    Just watched it

Calls out diggs multiple times for effort for all the 'he just wants to win' crowd

Yeah, I've made comments about his effort and I always have a ton of people saying "all receivers do that sometimes". I think that is bull. Diggs was clearly checked out mentally before leaving.

  9. Absolutely. I believe the Athletic did a ranking of each NFL roster before the draft and the Bills were 4th.

Anyone who thinks this team is going to be a lot worse this year is just being pessimistic. We still have a top 5 team in the NFL and will make the playoffs.

The Dolphins and Jets have good rosters too, though, so we'll see what they can do. The division is no cake walk, but the Bills should be the favorites, still, in my opinion.

Only a Bills fan would wait 20 years for an elite, superstar QB to come to town, then suggest trading him for draft picks.

You'd think a Bills fan would be less likely to suggest this. There are organizations like Green Bay who's fans probably think franchise QB's are easy to find. Their fans should be the ones saying to trade a franchise QB for draft picks.

  11. We'd be the laughing stock of the league for the next 20 years.

Half of first round QBs are busts. Even of the ones who aren't busts, the chance of one of them becoming a top 2 or 3 QB like Josh Allen is very small.

Trading Josh Allen is imbecilic, regardless of the return.
