You have absolutely zero credible intel to back your claim that “only the Texans” were offering a 2nd for Diggs. What we do know is that the Texans were a preferred destination for Diggs. This has been discussed via multiple channels since the conclusion of the pro-bowl.

You have no credible intel to claim that any other team offered a 2nd for Diggs. See how easy that is?

And what does it matter if there was another team? The Texans obviously had the best offer, which proves there was not a significant market for Diggs. And that has been said via multiple channels since the trade went down, that there wasn't a big market for him.

  2. Look at what other teams got trading their wide receivers this offseason. Keenan Allen was traded for a 4th rounder. Jerry Jeudy was traded for a 5th and 6th. Getting a 2nd for Diggs is actually pretty good, and only the Texans were willing to give that.

  3. Allen understands that players come and players go. I don't think him and Diggs have the relationship they used to, so I don't think Allen is that sad to see him go, but I don't think he necessarily feels relieved about it. Fans make these things bigger than they are.

Allen is supremely confident and I'm sure he believes he can win with or without Diggs as long as the Bills bring in other receivers with talent. And he seems to be following the receivers in this draft pretty closely, so he has already been prepared for life without Diggs and to connect woth another young receiver.

His play the last quarter of the season and post season also helped "force" him off the team as well.  The dude was brutal down the stretch.

That's true. And it culminated in his atrocious game against the Chiefs in the playoffs. And Beane puts a lot of stock in elimination games. He always says that those games highlight your difficiencies. Diggs was clearly a difficiency in that game.

  5. Too rich for me. The only position you should get crazy like that is QB, in my opinion. I wouldn't mind a trade up into the 15 to 20 range. But I think it is reckless and irresponsible to trade up into the top 10, especially when it is so important for the Bills to draft well over the next couple of years.

Kiko Alonso, the things I did to acquire that jersey…

Oh my goodness, I was going to say the same thing! I was actually shocked when Alonso was traded and a bit unhappy because I liked him. But that was clearly a good trade in the end. Kiko flamed out eventually and actually was a dirty player for awhile, and Shady had a few good years here.

  7. I've liked Brian Thomas Jr. as a trade up target, but I listened to Locked On Bills and Joe Marino seems really high on Xavier Legette and has him rated higher than Thomas. Both of those guys are really intriguing to me. Both have size, speed, and explosiveness. If we could land either of them in round one, I'd be happy.

Marino describes Legette as a big, physical, alpha male receiver. He's a big receiver who plays big. Explosive accelerator. He can get off blocks in a hurry. Very good at yards after catch. Creative and sees the field well. He can win the edge on outside handoffs if you want to hand the ball off to him. Asset in the screen game and return game. He has that "my ball' mentality when the ball is in the air. Good body control and concentration.

And much more. He sounds perfect to me.

Cosell made an interesting point, WRs tend to fall in the draft almost every year.  I think about the Jeudy draft, Lamb and Jeudy all fell 5-7 spots from their rankings.  Garrett Wilson fell a few spots to the Jets in 22

WR wasn't a pick until 20 last year.

Not that it's a fact, but those mocks that have Odunze/Nabers/Harrison ALL going by pick 9... they may not be incredibly accurate to how teams draft.  Maybe one falls to 13-15 potentially, and then a team makes a move.

QB's are still king, and they can push more talented prospects down the board. Then there are teams that just need to draft certain positions because they have holes, which pushes talent down as well.

They had Kelce and a top five defense.

Kelce is a shadow of himself, honestly. He's still good but not the dominant force he used to be. And the Bills have a good defense too.

There's really nothing to be panicking about, especially before the roster is even set.

This is where I am at.  Nothing that is known right now suggests it was so bad that Beane felt like he had to make this move and he certainly didn't get some kind of big offer he couldn't refuse.  So feels like we might be in store for some details to leak out that there were some issues where they felt his presence this year on the team just didn't work anymore.  Beane is very cap savvy, so just feels like something had to be in play for him to take this much dead cap on over 2 seasons.  And its clear Beane believed Diggs would be here this year last year or he wouldn't have restructured him which made his contract so bad to trade.  Something changed between then and now.

Really the only leak was McDermott's "very concerned" comment from last year. The Bills keep these things quiet.

I’m sorry but to say the Bills are going to be better on offense without Diggs and Davis is crazy too me. I like Kincaid and Shakir but you’re not going to convince me having Diggs on the field didn’t open up things for them. I think Kincaid will be a stud for sure…but Shakir let’s pump the breaks on that.

Josh without Diggs on the field is still an unknown. Just a lot of question marks on the offensive side of the ball right now to say they are going to be better.

The offseason isn't over. The roster is still being built. We have the draft, potential trades, and up until the season to bring in free agents.

  11. Yeah, there must have been a lot more going on that we don't know about. I know Diggs sent some mysterious tweets, but largely he kept the issues in house, and I respect him for that. Too many players go out and air their dirty laundry in interviews or on social media. Diggs didn't do that, regardless of how people feel about his tweets. Nothing was blatant.

That said, it's a real shame that he couldn't be more professional and control his emotions and attitude. He basically forced himself off the team, and that sucks.

I think if we go back and look at that God awful Chiefs message board from back when they traded Hill many would have been saying their window was over... rebuild as well. They went on to win the next 2 Super Bowls.

So, to your point, I agree that anything is possible and with Allen we always have the possibility of catching fire late and running the table.

This will be a new look team come week 1. Many of the vets we have grown accustomed to seeing as team leaders and core players are gone. We have seen who steps up to take their place both on the field and in the locker room as leaders. Team captain vote this year should be telling.

I think much of what we will see for the 2024 Bills will be the formation of the "new core" that with emerge going forward to the next window of opportunity. Playoffs would be a success this year IMO.

The Chiefs also got rid of talent on the oline and defense and relied on young players and rookies. The key is they hit on draft picks. The Bills need to do the same.

We barely did this year and we are exponentially worse at multiple positions. 9-8 season incoming!

The Bills were the 2 seed! They won 11 games. Stop this nonsense.

The draft value chart is simply a guideline for those that don't know

Teams have done deals that were significantly less and significantly more on the chart, so ultimately it doesn't mean a whole lot

I don't really agree. Every team uses the charts. They deviate some, but they use the charts as a baseline. I think they do mean a lot, but they don't mean everything. Some teams become desperate. Some teams value draft picks more than others. But the charts are always relevant.
