  1. IMO, the Bills missing in the early rounds of the prior drafts under Beane has come to a head and is creating major issues. The draft capital spent on AJE, Ed, Boogie and Groot plus the FA $$$ spend on Von has created a domino effect at other positions. That doesn’t even include the money spent on Star L previously. Missing on Ford in the 2nd at OG and Bernard in the 3rd at LB further hurts. They spent three early picks on RB with Devin, Moss and Cook and still don’t have a proven starter. Two are no longer on the roster. Our OL still needs an upgrade with an impactful reliable starter. We don’t have ONE dominant player on the OL. That needs to change. Mitch and Dawkins are solid but after that its questionable. With all that said, OL, LB and another playmaker at WR are still major needs in the draft. Bills have plenty already invested in the DL and can wait until NEXT offseason. Out of this draft I want at least two starters that are playing week one or providing significant contributions.
  2. Good dialogue on this topic. I’m not sure how I feel. Losing Edmunds creates another hole at LB. The running game still has a big question mark. Von Miller is probably out 3/4 of the season so the pass rush is questionable at best. With Poyer back the D should be good assuming they address LB in the draft. Still big questions on the OL. Is McGovern a plug and play starter that provides a major upgrade? Still hope they address OL early in the draft. Special teams is solid with Bass and Martin. While Harty has speed, he’s also small, injury prone and has had ball security issues. Not sure he’s much of an upgrade and will most likely have a limited role. Thus far it’s debatable if our roster has improved. I’ll have major questions if WR, OL, LB aren’t addressed early in the draft. Even more critical is we need them to be immediate and impactful players for us. Miami and NYJ have upgraded their rosters so IMO it’s vital we don’t just run it back with last years roster. We must add some additional playmakers and strengthen the OL.
  3. If Rodgers goal is to get back to the SB, I’m surprised he would leave the NFC for the AFC with so many quality QB’s. His odds are far better in the NFC than a loaded AFC. Also it’s a huge roll of the dice for the Jets giving up the farm for Rodgers. One would make a reasonable assumption, the Jets would improve with him, which ultimately hurts their future draft position for drafting a franchise QB.
  4. Missing on Ford hurt badly. Compounded by head scratching selections with drafting Moss in the 2nd round after just drafting Singletary the prior year in the 3rd, wasting a 4th round pick on Fromm when you had greater needs than a backup QB and then going RB again with a 2nd round pick followed by a huge miss in the 3rd with LB T Bernard. Those were huge value picks that Beane chose to ignore OL or WR. Josh has masked a lot of shortfalls and while Beane and McDermott deserve a lot of credit, they also deserve their fair share of criticism. They spent 3 picks on RB in the early rounds and all have had minimal impact. In addition, they’ve spent a ton of draft capital and FA spend on the DL that has yet to be a difference maker against quality teams.
  5. Not surprising that he’s testing FA. However now Beane needs to address WR, OL, S, LB and RB with little cap space. Missing on the 3rd pick at LB last year doesn’t help either. It’s gonna be critical for the Bills to add at least 3 impact players in this years draft. Brown, Boogie, AJE, Cook, Elam, Shakir and Gabe all MUST significantly raise their game this year.
  6. And yet we beat KC at KC this year and going into the MNF game against Cinncy had the #1 seed and the tiebreaker before the season dramatically changed. Yes KC is good but some act like the divide is as wide as the Grand Canyon.
  7. Every team has players who they can upgrade, but IMO, this season saw major shortcomings in our offensive scheme. The second half of the Packers game going forward seemed like our offensive identity started to change. Early in the season the ball was coming out quickly and efficiently and this was working really well. As the season progressed play creativity became stale and the Bills were trying to hit on 5+ deep balls per game. While deep balls are exciting, the % of successfully hitting on them is low. The Bills have to incorporate a screen game this offseason, utilize the easy layup of 5 yards to move the chains and reduce everything having to go thru Josh. Sure the deep ball should still be a weapon but not to the extent we saw down the stretch. If Josh is not throwing for 300 yds plus 50 yards rushing, we struggle offensively. That can’t be the case against good teams. We need better balance and Dorsey offensive scheme HAS to evolve and adapt more quickly in game and during the season.
  8. Injuries to key players (Von, Hyde, Tre, Phillips) plus numerous injuries to the WR core, injury to Josh, mass shooting in Buffalo, 3 games on short rest due to snow and on field cardiac arrest ended what looked to be a mentally exhausted team against Cinncy. Not making excuses but to minimize these things is also not being rational. In 2023, the WR core and OL should be strengthened by FA and draft. Dorsey has an entire offseason to grow and adjust. Bills will be in contention AGAIN to win the division and SB. Josh will AGAIN be in the short list of MVP candidates. LETS GO BUFFALO!
  9. And yet KC almost got beat by Houston who needed OT to win. Step off the ledge, the Bills are STILL a top tier team in the NFL.
  10. And your reasoning is based upon what? Don’t see Philly putting 35 pts up on Buffalo and for all the moaning the Bills had a top ranked offense. If we are going on facts Buffalo beat KC AT KC who just beat Philly.
  11. Last year against TB the Bills WR had a whole jersey pulled in front of the ref for no flag and then you call a ticky tac penalty on a ball that wasn’t even close to being caught. SMH
  12. If you say so.
  13. Thought that was the case once they got the kickoff. No rush just get 5 yards here and there to get into FG position.
  14. I’ve been saying this for awhile. If it takes that long to make a call then the call should stand.
  15. But yet we beat KC, lost three regular season games by 8 pts. Played a crap game against Cinncy. For all our flaws this team if healthy can go toe to toe with anyone in the league. The last two years are proof of that.
  16. Agree that the odds are low the Bills kick off the NFL season again but the Bills schedule is just too juicy to not have numerous prime time games. Philly Dallas Cinncy KC These are at minimum 4:00 games but none will be 1:00 games. Most likely SNF or MNF. Add in our overseas game plus TNF and I would still wager the Bills will play in six prime time games.
  17. Knowing the Bills play at Philly and at KC next season could the Bills be a prime candidate again to kickoff the NFL season? Feel like the odds are more favorable if Philly wins since it would be AFC vs NFC. If KC wins do they kickoff the season with a rematch against Philly at KC? Thoughts?
  18. I may be in the minority but I’m valuing OL early and often in this draft. If the OL is solidified it helps everything else. Better running game, better use of the TE as they aren’t needed as much for blocking, gives Josh more time in the pocket, and reduces the need for Josh HAVING to run, etc. Yes I want to add weapons for Josh, but IMO it’s long pass due to shore up the OL and give him extra protection. With the extra protection, he can become even more dangerous! It’s critical the Bills hit on their early picks.
  19. Depending on who’s available at 27, the pick has to lean OL or WR. Give me the best OG/C in the first. I’d like to see Beane be aggressive in the first four rounds to get impact players. The likelihood that a 5th, 6th or 7th round pick makes the roster is minimal so package picks to move up. Bills hitting on their first three picks would be huge! An anchor on the OL, a playmaking WR and a safety would help balance the roster.
  20. Whatever the max is. The schedule is loaded next year with marquee matchups. Wasn’t that long ago many were complaining about only having 1:00 games.
  21. The overreactions are off the charts right now based upon one game. Yes the Bengals beat the Bills in every category. They were better prepared and successfully executed their game plan. Our overall game plan was brutal on both sides of the ball and it happened at the worst possible time. However Cinncy isn’t some invincible juggernaut. They needed a17 point comeback against TB, a fluke fumble to beat NE and a goalline fumble by a third string QB. Tip of the hat to them for playing a great game against us and out scheming us. The Bills failing to score before halftime and the drop by Davis were two very big plays in the game. Not saying they would have won but it’s certainly game on at that point after taking two big shots from Cinncy to start the game.
  22. But we’re not so it’s a moot point.
  23. They sorely lacked a dynamic player in the slot. Having someone that is a playmaker in that position opens up so much for this offense. Crowder got hurt and McKenzie isn’t a full time starter. Both turned out to be unreliable with health and play.
  24. IMO I think it’s crazy to bring in another OC after one season. You want to start all over with another OC with learning another system. For having a weak OL and underperforming WR’s, they stilled delivered. Hell you could argue they should of went undefeated in the regular season. I don’t think Dorsey is even up for debate. Frazier is a different story but if they do who are you replacing him with?
  25. We can agree to disagree but the Bills will still be favorites to win the AFCE and compete for the top seed. The vast majority of their games they will be favored to win. Maybe they lose more than 3 games by 8 points next year but there isn’t a game on their schedule they can’t win. Yes the gap may narrow, but no one said winning a SB is easy. Sure it maybe more difficult next year but if healthy they can go toe to toe with anyone. Yes the Bills played poorly against Cinncy. I think it had a lot to do with how horrible the game plan that the coaching staff employed. Dorsey got schooled by an experienced DC and Fraziers bend but don’t break scheme against Cinncy in bad weather conditions is beyond defensible.
