What building is the draft in? It doesn’t matter anymore because I’m not going, but I’m curious. I guess the conference center. I love Nashville! My buddy going up who said “IT’S IN THE ROAD!” made me laugh!

It's pretty much going to be in the street.  It's at the end of Broadway by the River.  I'm steering clear of anything downtown Thursday.  Do you know where the Hard Rock Cafe is at the end of Broadway and you look out over the River and there is Nissan Stadium?  The Draft Stage is going to be dead center right there as you face the River and Nissan Stadium.

My buddy is going up with pals. I asked “what’s the deal with tickets?” He said “Nuthin’, it’s in the street!” Huh? I thought about it but I’m not going up to stand on Broadway with a bunch of people more drunk than me! I want to be, you know....INSIDE.

My wife has to be there next weekend for a funeral. Couldn’t find a decent hotel under $500/night. She will stay with friends. I heard they expect 100k people

Bills backers have an event at their Atlanta bars, but I may just watch at home. I have a sister visiting, so I’d rather not ditch her, leaving her at my home by herself. I’m not a great person, but I’m not a HORRIBLE person! (Though if she was curious to see the Bills bar....)

This is way low from the numbers I saw in the paper this morning.  For the draft alone they had over 235, 000.  Then you have close to 25/30k for the Preds game, which is almost right across the street.

  3. I wanted to get tickets but I moved away from town.  I used to live on Charlotte Ave, but now I live out in the country.  But for anyone coming to Nashville, just be mindful that the Preds are in the playoffs so you'll have that going on and there's like 12 other events going on downtown in addition to the draft.  Good luck getting in and out of downtown.  That's one of the biggest reasons I just said screw it.  I'd have to drive another 45 mins home after trying to get from downtown for around an 1hr and 30 mins to 2 hours.  No thanks.

I would not understand why they might take either Metcalf or especially Fant at 9.  Neither are good safe picks there, IMHO.

You are assuming they are trying to take safe picks.  What if they are not?   See the 2018 Bills 1st round picks.  Neither were safe and one (Allen) was one of the most polarizing prospects at his position.

Or you didn’t really read and you have zero evidence that they would take him for fact. It’s actually a big difference in your case. 11 picks to be exact to fall out of the first round. That’s literally 35 % of a difference.  Unless your Eric DeCosta or John Harbaugh I’m pretty sure you don’t know this as definitively as your trying to portray. I’m not saying he is going on the 2nd. If I’m the GM am I investing a top 10 pick into a guy with a heart condition as a difference maker for my team while paying him millions and hoping? My answer would be No.

Of course I have no evidence they will take him, like you have no evidence they won't, but I did listen to some of their draft prognosticators like Garrett Downing and even listen to their Director of College Scouting Joe Hortiz.  They didn't mention Sweat specifically but putting some of the things they said together, I don't think they would pass up on him.

Of course. I don't think he's plugged in, I think he gives his opinions like the rest of us. I hope his opinion re: Hock is off base.

The media guys and mockers are somewhat plugged in but could be misled.  What they report is based on who they are talking with around teams.  They also talk with agents.  So in some sense they are not off base but can be completely off base.  A lot of the time they put together what an agent has said with what people around a team are saying and then look at the perceived need.

Strange... almost all of the analysis I've read on the Bills free agent signings strongly disagrees with you. I'm guessing they cobble together a pretty good O-line... even if they don't draft anyone that plays there.

I'm not saying those guys won't become starters, I'm saying they are not penciled in.  Only Morse is penciled in.  Everyone else is going to have to earn it and to me that doesn't preclude adding additional talent to the group early.

It’s a complete rebuild on the OL. Outside of Center, I believe every other starting job on the OL will be competed for in TC. May the best men at each spot win. If Jonah is drafted, he could play anywhere.

I agree.  I think the OL only has 1 starter at this point and that is Morse.  I don't think Dawkins spot at LT is safe, especially after showing up looking like ButterBean

  9. I'm on board with you on the trading scenarios except it won't be the Dolphins, maybe Bengals?.  Your trade back into the 1st though with either Seattle at 21 or Baltimore at 22 could happen.  We'd just need to gain the extra capital to make that work.  I like DK in the teens, but I dunno if I like Burns or Wilkins more at 21, that is, IF Burns makes it that far.

Nahh I like Wilkins more.  I thought he'd come out last year and had him pegged to us with one of the 1st's.

This late in the game, I dunno.  The Jets played their hand last year and it was pretty clear they wanted one of two guys.  Mayfield or Darnold.  I could see this being true for the Jets and them bragging about it because there's not really any offer other teams can make for them to not select Oliver.  On the flip side, just because Williams wants him, that doesn't mean the GM will take him.

This is what I have been saying most the offseason, that I still think the Bills trade down from 9 if the right offer is there.  As we sit today, I think there could be a really good shot to trade with Miami so they can get the QB they want (Haskins or Lock) before teams like Den, Cin or Was (in a move up) can grab one.  I am working on my latest mock too and the way I see the top 8 going, I think the trade down becomes the move.  Below is small section of the article:

Why would the Bills be willing to move down? According to Jeremiah, there are 15 to 16 top guys in the draft. Here is what Jeremiah said in a conference call with the media on Thursday.

“You kind of look at it from a 30,000-foot view here, I think that there’s 15 to 16 players that everybody in the league kind of agrees are the top guys, and then after that once you get to 17, 18, all the way to 50 or 60, they’re in all different order there.”

Buffalo could make a slight drop down from No. 9 and still land one of the best prospects in the class while also adding addition picks to select players from the second tier of available prospects.

The last few weeks I've said I think Ed Oliver is their guy unless someone like Josh Allen falls.  If Oliver is gone and an unexpected player does not fall to 9, I think they will want to move.  Whether they can, we'll have to wait and see.  Now with all of that said, I completely disagree with Reuter and anyone who thinks we are trading with Miami, so they can help themselves and hinder us.

I still love my scenario, trade down with GB at 30 for an extra 2nd and 3rd. Risner, Butler Sanders, Tillery.

Trading to 30 is too far IMO.  Teens.  We still have a target I'm sure and you don't want to trade too far back and get out of range for guys you are targeting.

Per the bold text, this simply isn’t true. Johnson could run the entire route tree. He was equally as effective running nines or routes requiring quick separation.

This is just not true.  The Lions never asked him to run double move routes.  The information is out there on CJ's career if you care to look at it.  He excelled at a few routes and that's how the Lions used him.  Technically every wide receive "could run the entire route tree".  The issue is can they do it well.  They Lions decided to use CJ a certain way and allowed him to excel at certain routes.  They never asked him to run poco or copo for instance.

    PER SI.

That same chiseled body suffered a broken foot and a fractured neck in three years of college. And at his record-setting combine, Metcalf's change-of-direction times were slower than what Tom Brady clocked coming out of Michigan in 2000, leading teams to worry that his frame won't allow him to run more than three or four routes. Metcalf looks up to and models his game after Julio Jones and Calvin Johnson. But his agility scores are more similar to Jon Baldwin, a big-bodied first-round pick who barely lasted three years in the league.

Pretty silly to mention Jones and Johnson then move to Baldwin.  Here's why.  Neither Jones or Johnson tested in agility drills at all.  We know why.  Jones and Johnson's agility scores are probably in the same league with Baldwin's.  The difference is talent.  Johnson and Jones have the things that cannot be coached.  In any case, 8 days.

  14. Where though?  9?  Probably not.  I can see them trading back and taking him.  But I don't see them taking him at 9 and I want Metcalf on the Bills.  To me trade with the Giants for 17 if possible.  Gain draft capital.  Draft Metcalf at 17.  Trade extra draft capital to Ravens or Seahawks for pick 21 or 22.  Take Tillery or Brian Burns there.  Fill out the rest of the roster with the remaining picks.

ah..so your looking at trading down first with someone in the teens then give Sea a call and offer but still keep picks in every round almost...I could see that

Yep.  Trade down so we can then trade with Seattle but still have 2nd and 3rd round picks once we deal our original picks to the Hawks or even the Ravens just one pick later.
