  1. I think if you go on message board of most teams you're going to see the incessant whining. I mean the thing is McD said this is a process but people think the draft this year was supposed to supplant the process and everything is perfect and ready to go.

  2. Kouandjio was drafted to play Right Tackle, but couldn't handle the position. Once Glenn went down last year and Kouandjio filled in at LT, he did a great job. Our new Tackle, Dawson, was a LT in college and is being brought in to compete for the RT spot. What if Dawson is similar to Kouandjio as he struggles at the RT spot, but is better suited for LT?

Dawkins is versatile. He can also play Guard. So to me he's the swing lineman, but if he happens to win out the RT spot then great. It's not like the competition is great there.

  3. The only trade up I was skeptical was Jones. Thought he might be there at the original pick. But I do think they did right in jumping Carolina for Dawkins. Although honestly, I like Moton, but Moton is not a good Tackle Prospect so I think jumping the Panthers was the right move because they most likely would have taken Dawkins there. I think this is a very solid haul of players. I get that we need more players, but I think they are going with the idea of quality over quantity and that we will have plenty of quantity come in after the draft

  4. I like:

    Carl Lawson

    Zach Cunningham

    Cam Robinson

Forrest Lamp - don't need a guard but still like the player.

    Chris Godwin

    Obi Melinfonwu

    Budda Baker

    Malik McDowell

    Tanoh Kpassagnon

    Daeshon Hall

    Tyus Bowser

    Jordan Leggette

    Ju-Ju

Dion Dawkins - again don't need a guard but like the player

    Taywan Taylor

    Jordan Willis

Taylor Moton - projects as a Guard but still like the player. Complete destroys people. Didn't play to well as a tackle this past year.

    Davis Webb

    Marcus Williams

    Josh Jones

    Derrick Rivers

    Jake Butt

  5.

Chiefs GM already stated the deal originated when he talked to Whaley and that he talked to Whaley each day this week. If McDermott has all the power and "everyone" knows it, then why wouldn't Dorsey be talking to McDermott?

Ehhh but you do know that McDermott and Reid go way back though. So it's not far-fetched that Reid called him and said we want to take a QB. This could have been discussed at the combine.

You're making an assumption there's no particular reason to make.

Being on the phone doesn't mean you're the decision maker. Not even close. They were probably talking with twenty different teams about twenty different trades, not knowing which ones would work out and become possible.

It could easily be McDermott behind the wheeling and dealing. McD said that his relationship with Reid made his communication easier on this trade, that his trust and familiarity with Reid made things easier. Does Whaley know Reid?

This is what I was going to say. Reid could have told McD after the Combine or Pro day that he wanted a QB. McD gets the troops together and makes it look like the Bills want the QB but is just doing some extra scouting for Andy.

  6. This makes zero sense

The ravens, niners, bears and panthers would disagree. 4 teams that have made the super bowl in the last 10 years or so because they had a superstar ILB that dominated. Looks at the QBs on those teams. Cam was a superstar that season and flacco caught fire in the playoffs. Kaepernick and Grossman are journeyman. In our system, Foster is could be that piece. Will he? No one knows. No one knows if any of these guys will pan out, but he has the ability to be that guy. Looking at the ILB depth in the draft then comparing it to the WR and CB depth, one would see you can get better quality at WR and Cb in the later rounds, while ILB isn't nearly as deep. Drafting a Lb rd 1 makes complete sense to me if he's talented enough. You mentioned Jarred Davis. He's a stud. He's so good I'd be ok with drafting him at 10, but the ideal draft would be to trade down and still get a Davis.

I think your take on Ragland not being able to play the Mike in this defense is off base. Ragland doesn't excel in man tomman coverage but is very effective working the middle of the field in zone coverage. He's not blazing fast, but he's not as slow as you make him out to be. If somehow you're correct and he has to play WLB or SLB then we still need a mike. Preston Brown is crap. Foster and Davis can both play mike if Ragland cannot. Both guys have the ability to be dominant players in the NFL. In this system, it's not a luxury to have 2 really good LBs, it's a necessity in order to become a great D.

And just to add, the thought of Ragland and Foster, two head hunters that love to hit people with tone setting hits, these are things that change football games.

  7. Reddick is not a hoax. Best 3-4 OLB in pass rush productivity in the country (this does not mean sacks). Take that and add it to the versatility he brings of being able to move around a defense, play on the 2nd level, and drop into coverage then you have the makings of a great linebacker who can impact games on multiple levels.

But we won't trade and get him. He's coveted by a few teams in the teens it seems. Baltimore, Indy, Washington. The Saints could use him too.
