  1. He did alittle more then usual last week but still far from what id like to see out of my QB. You can gush about his QB rating all you want, when you dont turn over the ball because of a safe throw mentality its always gonna be relatively high. When he starts involving our WRs into our offense on a more regular basis, lets see what happens.... Nice win though. He did what needed to be done.

  2. Woods and Watkins aren't really on a pace for much more than they did here. If you play out 16 games on their current pace this year and do the same for Buffalo its not much different.

Woods 16 games here: 63 catches 754 yards

Woods 16 games in LA: 54 catches 902 yards

Yes Woods has 9 yards extra per game there with less 9 less catches. Still not much difference

Sammy 16 games here: 73 catches 1288 yards

Sammy 16 games in LA: 69 catches 1034 yards

Less catches and less yards in LA. Still about the same. I did use Sammys 2015 season as I felt its not fair to use his hobbled 2016 season.

So people can say oh these receivers did nothing with Tyrod and look at them now with a real QB all they want to... but as of right now, they aren't doing any more with Goff than they did with Taylor.

Sure, but the Bills looked like a SuperBowl team against the 49ers last year too.

Its hard to tell after a short sample. I watched all 3 Rams games and I think that O is just getting started and Sammy and Robert will have there best seasons as Pros this year. On our end I think Mathews will have his worst and will be wanting to get the !@#$ out of town by the end of the season.

No way to know for sure so we will have to see how the season pans out.

  3. How many wins do we have with this WR corp? How many if McCoy goes down with no backup? This offense is not built for shootouts.

My question has to do with the entire time Taylor has been our QB?

Well never know what we got with these WRs as long as Taylor is playing QB. Its part of the reason we let Woods go and never picked up Sammys 5th year option, and then traded him. Sammy had injury issues but the production hasnt been what we envisioned when on the field. You can say the same about Clay and Woods. With only 2 games under his belt in Buffalo I bet Matthews is under yearly his avaerage also, but that has nothing to do with Taylor right?

  4. That's funny...the Bills scored more than 17 points in 12 of the 15 games Taylor played last year.

And When our D gives up more then 20 points how many wins do we have with Taylor? If our D gave up 39 points, no way we win a game with Taylor. Good teams find ways to win. Rams O has made big improvements and the team could be on the rise.

  5. Tyrod account for 80% of the rushing yards and 93% of the offense. When things get tough he has to make plays (and did). McCoy being the other playmaker that he looks to in the passing game. The receivers stink. You watched a different game than the one I was at. With the game on the line he did everything!! TT led them down the field and threw a game winning TD that was dropped. He did pretty much the exact opposite of what you are saying!! In fact in 2 of his last 3 starts he led drives that should have won the game. The defense/Carpenter/Rex blew one and Zay the other. He isn't the perfect QB but he is absolutely, undeniably a playmaker (and always has been. The question has been consistency not playmaking ability.

Alas, if you want to continue to complain about the QB there are 1,000 other threads to do that.

I agree and disagree depending on the part. McDermott looks like he can manange games and coach. He looks to me to be a good find but did a bad job assembling the offensive staff. Beane on the flip side hasn't impressed me at all. This roster is less talented than previous rosters (by a lot). They are more disciplined and better coached. I loved the trades for Tre and Zay and hated the Sammy trade. Dumping guys like Gillislee and Williams to give carries to Tolbert is beyond stupid. They tried to build a roster that needs 13-15 play drives to score. It's like competing with Indians by trying to hit singles or the Warriors but dumping it in the post. Teams score fast and in bunches in sports now and we adopted Jauron's offense. I'm not sure how anyone can like the look of it? At its core its flawed.

The defense looks fixed to me. I always thought the problem was Rex. I'm not sure anyone would disagree. They have the same guys in the front 7 and look like a totally different group. It's a great start for them.

There is no sense me continuing with the conversation in this thread. Anybody who thinks Tyrod did his job on Sunday is completely lost. We had 3 points and you want to blame everybody but the guy who touches the ball on every play. Real nice! A poor throw to Zay at the end, two 4yard scrambles in the closing minute of the game. 6 net passing yards at halftime. Yeah, that's real good!
  6. I can't consider Taylor a playmaker and think you have quick judgement on this WR group.

Tyrod makes a few plays here and there with his legs but is totally unreliable throwing the ball. Yeah, he has a high percentage but does he get the ball to the first and second read often? Because what I see is a guy who continues to make the safe play and shys away from the ultimate design of the play. He's a playmaker with his feet, but a QBs main job is to throw the ball. And that seems to be part of his weakness.

At QB, I picture a playmaker who can get the job done when needed, Tyrod is terrible in late game, must score situations.

It's also hard to judge our WRs when Tyrod is playing QB because of his safe play. He rarely gives these guys many chances. 6 targets in the first game. Very few in the second until lat in the game when the Panthers went to prevent. Our slotted #1-#2 guys have lacked opportunities at times from Tyrod the past two years. That d even when Sammy and Woods were on the field.

  7. Tyrod has been given an opportunity to start and play within the coaches system. They brought in guys they feel fit in this same system. If Tyrod doesn't start using these guys the offense will continue struggle. Peterman is one of those guys they brought in and he will get a shot. When that happens depends on Taylor. This is not about setting him up to fail, it's about creating an offense they feel will be successful.

  8. Sorry the USS Tyrod has sailed. He will be obviously exposed v Denver and after the Falcon debacle he will be benched (or hurt). Bring Peterman in v Cinncy and see what he can do. If he struggles we're getting an amazing draft pick...

I invision Sunday going so bad 'll be surprised if we don't see a little bit of Peterman in the 4th quarter.

  9. He is not elite nor good. but he is far from the terrible QB you make him out to be. The offense put up a lot of points the last two seasons. If the defense had been as advertised, they would have made the playoffs. He is a FA QB, not a drafted one with high expectations. He has done what has been asked of him. They took away what he is very good at-the deep ball-and left a WR group that most QBs would have trouble with. Five WRs on the depth chart-two are kick returners and one is a rookie. No true number one.

And the guy who touched the ball every play didn't turn the ball over. And his rushing ability was used properly the last two seasons. Not this season. You play to the strengths of your players, when that player is the best you have at the position.

If the coaches have a plan and a system they want to run, it's Tyrod who is gonna have to adapt. Last year we once again beat crappy teams like any other year. You can go on about how many points we put up on average, but at the end of close games when we're in need points Tyrod has came up short time and time again. In our wins last year our D was as much a contributor as our offense.

If we want to be a playoff team we need to win in close games. When we have the opportunity to win at the end in the closing minutes we need to get the job done.... That's what's holding us back,. We have been a midrange team for years, and we consistently lose these close games because of our QB play. If we are and 7-9,8-8,9-7 team, and we start winning a few of these games we will become a 10 win team, maybe higher. Food for thought.

  10. Except his play hasn't been poor the last two seasons as a whole.

He's had his moments but he has been consistently bad.... If he was consistently good we wouldn't be calling for another QB. Our WRs production depends on Tyrod giving them opportunities. In the first game our WRs caught 4 passes, that's when Tyrod was playing ok. In the second game they had 2 catches going into the 4th quarter. He made up some ground on the last drive when we went into hurry up and the Panthers went to prevent, but how can you be judging our WR when the QB rarely throws them the ball. He's done this before too. Hardly used Woods, Clay and Sammy at times, all guys who have proven when they are given opportunities they can be productive. Fact is, no WR has really turned heads with Taylor (except maybe Sammy over a 5 or 7 game stretch) throwing him the ball. But you continue to blame everybody except the one guy who touches the ball on every play.

  11. Rooting for losses. SMH..well, they will keep John Miller and this receiving corp, both are bad, so that should make you happy too.

I think it's alittle early to be judging our WR group after 2 games with a QB who is known for not giving his WRs many targets.... Funny how you still stick up for TT after 2 years of poor play but are quick to **** on the WRs after 2 games.

  12. It irritates me that this team can't complete your basic 3 step drop passes, 5yd hitch, out, a slant etc.

Joe B pointed out TT had 2 completions to a WR through 3 Qtrs yesterday. That's embarrassing!!!!

Panthers D is good, but they ain't that damn good!

One more game like that from TT he should be done. If McDermott is gonna be a man of his word a look to build at every position... he can't stand by a guy who has 15 passing yards in a half and can't get the ball out quickly.

I wonder how many WRs around the league have more receptions then our whole WR group at this point? It's sad. Pretty sure Landry has more and he only played 1 game

  13. Watkins and TT were one of the best duos in the NFL in 2015, when Watkins was healthier. Bottom five receiving corps would he harder for any QB.

    .

There were also games where Watkins walked off the field with very little targets also. Games where Sammy only had a couple touches. Robert Woods proved against Seattle last year when you use him he can be very successful, but it's TT distributing the ball. Woods was rarely targeted while on the field the past 2 seasons. This isn't just a WR thing, it's a Taylor thing. Clay has proven when you throw him the ball he is a quality player and it looks like Taylor might be finally starting to realize that. But for most of the first 2 seasons, Clay was also underused. That's 3 quality guys that were underused while on the field with Taylor. We had injuries, that sucks, but Sammy himself said on film guys are running open and not getting the ball..

  14.

Yeah take a look who was on the field. Has even two receivers played in more than back to back games together last year? We went into a game featuring a busted up Woods, Powell, and Easley as starters. It was pathetic. 2015 he did a fine job getting receivers the ball.

Had nothing to do with who was on the field, its been like that since he started here. Even when we had our guys in at times they were rarely used. Sammy complained about it a couple times. When he was injured he told the media, on film guys are running open but not getting the ball thrown to them.... It's been a problem since Taylor has been here. It's good he is starting to use Clay, but how long will it last?

Taylor had a decent game Sunday, not great. Not anywhere near what some people are making it out to be.... He's also had many games like this over the past couple years, it's when we need him to rise up and play better he can't get it done. Hopefully he improves but considering he's in his 7th year and we are seeing little to know improvements after almost 2 full season starting, I have my doubts. We'll see what Sunday brings, he's got a tougher matchup and is gonna have to raise his game for us to get the W.

  15. Yeah because Taylor has never thrown to receivers before. This was answered a few times in pc's. Taylor attacked the weak portion of the defense. Maybe another week has strong linebacker play but weak corners. Guess where he'll go.

Taylor goes outside to receivers for two years and people say he can't hit the TE. Taylor hits TE RB and WR in middle of the field and now your worried he can't hit a receiver. Smh.

Our WRs have lacked targets a lot over the past 2 years.
