  1. Does it help if she calls out Steelers fans and tells them to stay home? Because she did that too… One of the more embarrassing things I’ve ever seen in my life.
  2. No words.. I feel so awful for her.
  3. I wouldn’t say it favors them, because we can run our QB.. but it probably makes it a coin flip game if passing is almost taken out of the equation. Not sure Cook is an ideal RB for this game, but we shall see. I hope he makes me eat crow because ever since Dallas, I haven’t been impressed with him at all.
  4. Please just win because after last year and us playing like we’ve never seen snow, and with all this bs leading into Sunday, I’d rather not go into every regular season thinking home field - for the entirety of our superstar QB’s career - is a negative.
  5. I would counter that when McDermott can make a team one-dimensional, he’s usually very effective. I’d go back to the Ravens Playoff game where they were the team with the run game advantage but couldn’t really do much of anything. That being said.. if we struggle to score, all it takes is a turnover in a bad spot or missed gap and we’re chasing them. We also are a middling run defense because McD prioritizes defending the pass. There really isn’t a reason a DL consisting of Joseph, Oliver, Jones, Rousseau, Floyd and Lawson shouldn’t be dominant against the run if they want to be. ….but they’re going to have to be, especially if Dodson can’t go. I think we all know this is a huge advantage for the Steelers if the conditions severely limit our passing attack.
  6. That stadium looks like it might be half empty based on the Twitter screenshots of ticket sites.
  7. -2 degrees at game time now with 15 to 30 mph winds in Kansas City tomorrow night. Just insane weather for these games this weekend.
  8. Not really sure that sounds any better, but ok…
  9. Id almost rather see Fournette and Johnson in this game. Hopefully Cook proves me wrong. Dropping passes, fumbles and open field stop/go moves in traffic … not trying to see any of that in a weather game.
  10. Perhaps. If I tell you the the teams have been told it’s status quo for the 1 pm game. or teams have been told it’s status quo for the 1 pm games… Which makes you more certain? Im not sure the league wants to draw attention to a State of Emergency being usurped for a football game, God forbid anything tragic were to happen as a result.
  11. The fact Schefter addressed this means contingency plans are in place. Whether the “status quo” changes, we shall see. I tend to think it’s 90/10 we play at 1 pm Sunday, but Schefter posting about our game, both tweets, puts some doubt in my mind. Especially with the ominous “….” at the end of his post.
  12. Schefter chimes in…. He typically doesn’t tweet stuff for no reason.
  13. This team has a great chance to win the Super Bowl. I just want to win this game. What outcome gives us the best chance against an inferior team? What evens the playing field more? I do not care, at all, about some tough guy reputation the region should have.
  14. State of Emergency for everyone except the tens of thousands of people going to, and playing in, a football game is … interesting.
  15. Ty Johnson clearing concussion protocol hopefully puts him on track to play Sunday. Wouldn’t hate some two back sets with Cook, Johnson and Fournette all able to motion out and/or catch out of the backfield. That, along with two tight end looks, could both offset the loss of Gabe and provide a more reliable passing attack in the weather.
  16. Lol.. I just want to win the Super Bowl. What outcome gives us a better chance of that? As far as weak, it’s all relative.. I spent my childhood in Syracuse/Long Island and loved the cold/snow. The cold never bothered me. Now, after moving south, I hate it. I’m always cold. The weather Sunday sounds like a frozen hellscape. …but I can train outside in 90 degree weather with humidity and not feel like im going to pass out.
  17. What does this mean?… because we all watched the Bills blizzard game from a few years ago and you could definitely tell the difference.
  18. I do think McDermott has shown that if you’re one-dimensional, he will shut you down. If we activate Joseph, we have a strong run stuffing DL with Joseph, Ford, Jones, Oliver and three guys who are very strong at setting the edge in Rousseau, Floyd and Lawson. We have Josh Allen, who can play in any weather, but when he’s able to throw through snow and wind.. can our receivers catch it? … that was the issue in the wind game when we finally let Allen throw. If Allen is able to, even somewhat, sustain a passing attack, we should run away with this game. Biggest worries, aside from turnovers, are a missed run fit … even in games where we dominate, we’re susceptible to one explosive run here and there. That can’t happen in a game like this. We also can’t let a screen pass or quick slant to Johnson/Pickens go to the house. See, wind game, with the one explosive run. On Offense, I don’t know how to feel about Cook in this game. Ever since the Dallas game, he’s been underwhelming. He’s a big play threat whenever he touches the ball, but in a game where 3 yard runs need to be “fall forward” for 4-5 yards and open field juke moves might not be ideal… im not sure what to expect from him.
  19. This is a good analogy. In Miami, you expect heat, humidity and rain. You, as a fan, prepare for that. The team trains for that. The team is likely built to play in that. In Buffalo, this time of year, you expect cold, wind and snow. We, as fans, prepare for that. The team trains for that. The team is built to play in that. What we’re seeing forecasted is equivalent to Miami earning the two seed, only to host a playoff game as a TS/Cat 1 hurricane moves over the stadium. You can play through it… but it’s not football.
  20. There’s a difference between a team being built to win games in cold, wind, snow.. We are. It’s why we drafted Josh Allen. We have focused heavily on the lines and look to have finally got it right. The forecast for Sunday (potentially) isn’t anything you can prepare for. So, by all means, pretend this is “tough guy northern football”… if the worst case scenario plays out, it’s not … it’s completely random and makes a mockery of the sport.
  21. This is killing my excitement for the game. Just hoping we find a way and move on. Fight so hard for 18 weeks to get to a point where we’re potentially looking at, not a football game, but a test of which side can handle blizzard conditions better.
  22. Yes, it does. A top tier portal QB alone costs about 500k to 1M or so.
  23. McAfee allows ESPN to catch its breath for five seconds..
  24. There might be something to this. Ole Miss is literally attempting to buy an SEC Championship this year. Going to be harder than ever to maintain greatness when teams around you can pick and choose years to go all in on the portal and make a run.
