  1. hey, least he gets to be the QB for a bit. in reality i find it tough to think of many places that Tyrod would be coveted as a teams starter, other than Cleveland.
  2. youre so late to the party in this thread that ill give u a pass on this brilliant post. u clearly havent read everything. and of course its a QB driven league....
  3. my take on this coaching/management staff so far, they have a plan, started working on it right after McBeane got here. theyre sticking to it. accumulating draft picks, most likely to move up and grab their guy at QB accumulated those draft picks because this was supposed to be the best QB draft in a decade all of a sudden it doesnt look like the best QB draft in a decade. somehow we won 9 games, made the playoffs, wasnt expected, now we're stuck with crappy first round pick position, add that to KCs draft pick we acquired. now things change significantly with the process. i really dont believe OBD thought they would be in this exact position they find themselves in right now. spend alot for a chance at a QB, or stay pat and build the rest of the team. tough position to be in. should be fun to watch.
  4. really we're just a QB away from being a threat in the AFC. i look at most of our cast offs, and they flourish elsewhere, especially our maligned receivers, competent QB throwing to them, they put up numbers. ex. Woods, Hogan, Sammy, and even Goodwin. sure we have holes to fill. every team does. DT is a must, and of course QB.
  5. exactly what a majority of browns fans want to happen now. Barkley, trade the 4th pick or take the best QB available run run run, let Tyrod manage the game. Sounds familiar. Browns fans are under the impression Tyrod wouldve been alot better if the Bills had talent tho.
  6. wholeheartedly agree with this, regime change sets teams back faster than missing on picks. gotta give time to people. good working relationships arent made overnight.
  7. oh ya its fun alright, for some teams its more fun than the regular season (Browns)
  8. and that would be fine, my point all along has been about risk aversion. of course we need a QB, and it would be great to get a top prospect, no doubt. if mayfield fell to 10, sure go for it. if, and only if, thats who OBD all loved from the start. dont overreach just to get a guy, cuz the real guy u wanted is gone. many thing to like about mayfield, his college offensive scheme is not one of them though. not a fan of the spread offense. dont care about his height, swagger, his tiny bit of off field issues. he can throw, but can he read the whole field?. thats what ive been looking for in a QB since Kelly walked away. all the arm talent in the world means nothing if u cant make the right decisions before the ball lets loose.
  9. u know when its a good time to take a flyer on a top QB that has a less than 50% chance to succeed? its when u dont give up six fricken picks to take that chance. ffs if had to explain that to too u.....like i said read the thread. u give 2 examples of guys who've done absolutely nothing in this league to this point. and their respective teams gave up little to get them.... its about how much u need to give up to gamble on an unknown commodity. ffs. we get it, u want a top QB, and nobody elses opinion matters. must be a wonderful world u live in.
  10. u seem to forget that many of those 9 wins were despite what our QB did. it was clearly evident in year 2 of Tyrod that opposing defenses had figured him out.
  11. its risk or no risk right? thats what im getting from your posts. black and white. if only the world were that simple. this thread was about a particular time for risk, and when its too cost prohibitive. but ya, its now or never.....who cares about the cost
  12. this is a logical post, and u will find that many on this board hate logic.
  13. no doubt we need a QB, have needed one since Kelly retired, but to overreact, overreach, overspend, well thats one the biggest problems with most people in this society. its a gambling mentality disease, and it rarely pays out. your 17yr drought will turn into what if we miss on picking a QB this upcoming draft? the thing about common sense, its not all that common.
  14. the old time tested black and white of the world. if he cant now he never will... cept very little in life is black or white. there are different levels of pressure for every player. and its not even about the pressure, its about making sure u dont put your fresh shiny new QB in a situation that gets his confidence killed, remember David Carr?
  15. no they were not, but u act as if their greatness is a foregone conclusion already. each of them has had 1 good year. kinda like the Deshaun Watson bandwagon that has formed. Dude played good in 4 games..... only way it would be "our year" is if we had a legit top 5 pick that didnt cost us the rest of our draft to use. none of these QBs scream next great thing. if youre willing to gamble on one of these guys, with as much draft capital it will take, well, i find that extremely reckless.
  16. ffs if our running game didnt get our offense up by 14 points in a game we had no chance of winning it. our fricken QB couldnt THROW!!!! how are u so blind to not see that favors every defense we went up against? one year it was the defense fault, nother year it was the offensive coordinators fault, next year it was lack of receivers, you know the one constant to our horrible passing game? Tyrod fricken Taylor. smh.
  17. if we had tanked, and could take any QB with our high first round pick, id go with Rosen. Hes by far the best passing QB in this draft. word is hes probably the most intelligent as well. 2 strengths i would love to have in a QB. But to mortgage the future for him, im not sold. Scariest thing about Rosen for me is whether he would actually want to play in this city. hes a bright kid, and when i look at him i see Eli Manning not wanting to play in San Diego. lot of investment for a kid if thats the case. Think Mayfield would be a better fit here, but i dont like the offense hes coming from.
  18. gonna be a rough year for the Brownies. u have a WR who needs his touches, and a QB who hates throwing the ball especially where this new WR loves to catch it. should be fun to watch. rmbr when Sammy started to get upset with Tyrod for not throwing to him? have fun Cleveland.
  19. starting to question if u watched the Bills for the last 3 years.
  20. there are some on this board that would love to mortgage the entire draft on a QB that they know nothing about. cuz its fresh new and shiny. willing to gamble away their future for a sub 50% chance at the next great NFL QB. and there are others that logically look at the situation.
  21. we all know how much Tyrod loves the middle of the field
  22. too much logic in your post, you may make this forum explode.
  23. lol he wasnt contemplating his retirement because of his play......cmon
