As I’ve stated….I’m really not a gun guy, but in this instance what difference would the ‘assault ban’ have made to the unarmed little kids in that classroom? Could the shooter not have been able to do the same, or similar, damage with a couple of hand guns?

It is a good idea, but unlike a driver’s license or car registration which can only be requested upon a violation of some kind, unless the government is going to illegally search your house for the fire arm, how is this to be enforced. Most of these shootings are not done by people who’ve had an expired gun sitting in their dresser drawer for twenty years.

I’m going to throw this out there just so maybe you’ll stop the hate. And please know…I’m not a gun person: For the past month the Left has been losing it over their manufactured ‘right’ to kill innocent pre born children. Now, the Left wants to throw the entire Right under the bus over their actual right to bear arms. The solution to both problems lies with our elected officials. Leaving it up to the citizens to scream at each other on a message board just shows how utterly feckless Congress really is.

Can you imagine how hard it must be to walk into the White House every Monday morning and convince/remind yourself that you have to sell this crap to the American people, day after day after day?

What did we do to 'catch them right up".....we provided a free society with opportunities that do not rely on their birthright or skin color. Excellent point. In recent years the NBA has transitioned away from the traditional big man roster, to a more diversified starting five made up of a bunch of 6’-6” guys. It’ll be interesting to see if the NFL does the same thing and begins to emphasize versatility. It’d really change the way you build your roster.

Exactly! That’s why it’s called volunteering. I’m going to guess you don’t donate to the same charities that I do…but that’s perfectly fine, and I don’t require you to donate to the ones that I support.

Geez people! Conservative means you are generally resistant to change and risk . Progressive means you are generally pushing for change and less resistant to risk. The terms have little or nothing to do with the daily blather being spouted on this message board. Skin color and sexual orientation are not exclusive to either conservatives or progressives, no matter what the elites try and brainwash the masses into thinking.

This is definitely not true in my family. In fact, the correlation is way, way off. Good jobs are had by those that study in school and work hard. Regardless of skin color.

It isn’t complicated. Conservative leaning people want to see things stay as they are. Progressive leaning people are generally interested in seeing things change. It’s been the same for decades. What’s happening now (in my opinion) is that the progressives are getting into some areas that were historically not considered even up for debate and conservatives are saying ‘what now’? I’m sure the same debate raged over topics that our grandparents would’ve never thought possible. Roll with it.

As you and I both know, money doesn’t correlate to happiness but Tibs is focused on poverty so I gave him the basic rules to live by if you don’t want to be poor in America. He doesn’t want to hear it. I’m sure it sounds like way too much work. 😉

I give you the basic ‘how to’ list and you come back with this? People come to this country every single day from all over the world, and from every race, religion and creed, and in a state of abject ‘shirt on their back’ poverty. Some will succeed and others will not. Following ‘my’ llist has NOTHING to do with their past. It’s all about what they choose to do today, tomorrow, and every day going forward.

People blaming other people for their lot in life has been going on since the Dawn of time. It’s not unique to blacks or to the United States. Learn to tune it out. Be the best person you can be, every single day. Go to church (or get solid moral instruction on a regular basis.) Do not do drugs. Study in school. Work really hard. Do not go into debt, and if you do, sacrifice almost everything for awhile to get out of it. Stay married if you choose to get married. Do not have children if you’re not prepared to raise them. It’s the tried and true recipe for success, no matter what color skin you happen to have.

I listen to a lot of things. I also have two highly successful black business partners who say you’re full of crap!

The more you keep tossing that word around the less impact it has. Racism was real and you’re hurting your cause by watering it down…but go ahead and diminish if it gives you some momentary pleasure.

Is racism the cause of the weekly carnage in Chicago? Or the recent shooting in a Taiwanese church? Give it up with the racism crap!
