I agree with Costas about TB. Mainly because I never watch the pregame shows, so I wouldn't have to look at or listen to him. You want a smart and entertaining analyst? Put Fitz in the booth.

As far as TB's ability to offer great insights, Romo did that his first year and the network put the kibosh on it, for whatever reason.

Have you seen the Pats O this season? They aren’t just bad they are almost historically bad!!

You're right about that and I can't even argue with the numbers. But the implausible scenario you described is what we often call "Billsy" and we've seen it too many times.

    Seal the damn game.

The game was won! 1:35 left I believe. You run a RB and say he doesn’t make it. So 1:31 inside the 20 you run it all the way down to :51 call time out and kick the FG. let’s say you miss the FG then Zappe has 45 seconds no timeouts and needs go 75 yards to win the game. Just isn’t plausible

Have you watched the Bills much this season?

That crack experience will be a drone in 20 years.  Just lower the price of my ticket please and don't take off or land in the damn city. We gotta huge lake out there to ditch in.  😆

In a few years, autonomous cars and trucks will have the bugs worked out, and at that point, I'll trust them over a person behind the wheel. But if I'm in the air, I'd want a real pilot controlling the plane with the AI providing suggestions and able to take over if the pilot is incapacitated.

Why? Because just about any idiot can get a driver's license, but a pilot's license, especially a commercial pilot's license, is considerably more difficult to obtain. I'd say we're about five years away from a trustworthy autonomous car. I doubt that I'll trust an autonomous aircraft at any point in my lifetime. That day will get here, but it's a long way off.

  5. Now I'm a fellow with a heart of gold
With the ways of a gentleman I've been told
A kind of a fellow that wouldn't even harm a flea
But if me and a certain character met
That guy that invented the cigarette
I'd murder that son of a gun in the first degree

For the last few years of Ryan Fitzpatrick's playing career, I kept making the point that he would be a great candidate for a network broadcast job if he wanted one.  His 9 city playing career, smarts and personality made him a uniquely qualified candidate to add to an NFL broadcast.  But, I was not thinking of a Harvard version of the Terry Bradshaw studio commentator role. I thought he could be a better version of Tony Romo.  Smarter, more fun, more league wide connections, more self aware, more energy.

Agreed. I'd love to see Fitz as an analyst. I rarely watch the pre or post-game shows, so I don't really care who's in the studio.

Has anyone done a booster this fall?  How did it go?

My wife and I both had the shot for the latest variant back in October. Had flu shots about a week later. Our son did both the Covid and flu shots at once. None of us suffered any side effects except a slightly sore shoulder. None of us have tested positive, but we all mask up when in public. Due to a medical condition, I have a compromised immune system, so I have to be extra cautious about Covid. She and I both work from home, but our son works in an office. He got a mild case of Covid once, about a year ago, but he quarantined and we managed not to catch it.

We always fly in & out of Chicago Midway. It's only one square mile in the middle of the SouthSide.   It gets interesting how they gotta slam on the "brakes" when landing...

"...And I'm goin' with some hesitation
You know that I can surely see
That I don't want to get caught up in any of that
Funky sh*t goin' down in the city..."

    Short landing @ MDW:

I'd hate to live in the neighborhood right in front of the runway. Many years ago we went to Pittsburgh to attend my cousin's wedding. We reserved a room close to the wedding venue, drove into town, and shortly after checking in, we realized how close we were to the airport. Didn't sleep well that night.

  9. In a football sense, several guys on that list deserve it more than Hamlin.

On the other hand, when you think of the word "comeback," it's really hard to beat Lazarus.

(Yeah, I know he didn't actually die, but his heart stopped and it wouldn't have restarted on its own. And the stats on CPR aren't very good. Obviously, it's better than nothing, but it fails more often than not.)
