  1. I was responsible for the learning management system at the college where I taught. (This was in the early days of online and web-enhanced instruction.) I'd done all the BIOS and Windows NT Y2K updates, so I wasn't too worried about it. At 12:01, my wife asked if I was going to dial in and check on the server. I said, "It can wait until tomorrow." The next morning, everything was fine.

We didn't go hog wild on the doomsday prep, but we did make sure to stock up on some essentials ahead of time.

Was starting high school. Heard what it was, went home and changed all the times and dates on my computer to try and trigger whatever they said would happen. Nothing did. Was at that point that I realized most people are idiots.

I figured that out in high school too, but that was about twenty years before Y2K.

NFL+ sucks. I tried it last year for the Bills Thursday night game & I don't get why anyone would pay to watch games on a phone.  I had the same problems you describe when I tried it last year.

I ended up paying for Peacock and it only buffered once or twice.  At a break I shut it down & reloaded & almost caught up to real time.  However, at the end of the game I turned on the radio for the final minute or so and the radio was ahead of the stream by at least 20 seconds.  I put the radio on for the postgame but the Albany station, which had the pregame, cut the postgame off.  I ended up watching Maddy Glab's & Steve Tasker's postgame show on the internet.

I've only watched a couple of live games on NFL+ this season and, for the most part, they've been okay other than this one. I watch on my tablet, which, sitting on my lap, is about the same apparent size as my 42" TV across the room. But it's also nice for watching replays of games that I missed, whether watching the whole thing or the condensed version. I can watch those on a regular TV with a Firestick and the NFL+ app.

The Morse holding call happens on nearly every NFL play. Extremely minor.

Yeah, technically he did grab the defender's jersey, but as you said, they all do that. But he had his hands in front, not around the shoulders or back, so it shouldn't have been called. And that negated a huge play.

People say we won the KC game because of a fluky penalty, but they think that the only game-changing calls happen near the end of the game. A bad call early in the game can be a game-changer too. Case in point: flagging Josh for intentional grounding when there should have been a flag against the Eagles' defender for the horse collar tackle. Call that one correctly and The Bills may have put up 7 instead of 3. We lost that game by 3 points.

  4. The Bills gave me an early birthday present by beating the Bucs. It was close, but they got it done.

The Bills gave me an early Christmas present by beating the Chargers. It was close, but they got it done.

The Bills gave me an early heart disorder by having so many friggin' nailbiters.

  5. So don't delay, act now, supplies are running out
Allow, if you're still alive, six to eight years to arrive
And if you follow, there may be a tomorrow
    But if the offer's shunned
You might as well be walkin' on the sun
