Pats fans bug me, but that's part of being king of the hill.
Personally, it's not my thing. When the Bills were on top, I didn't give a thought to teams on the bottom. Though if the Pats get there again, I'll probably find some joy in it.

"Pegula said that Whaley was responsible for putting together the Bills draft plan and executing it, but very few people truly believe that. McDermott, who Pegula hired as the new head coach of the team in mid-January, was basically serving as its de facto general manager these last couple months, too, and his voice has overridden everyone else's."....Sal M.
If that's the case, I'm more okay with this. I love how this draft was handled. At minimum, McD is reliable.

Peterman reminds me of Trent Edwards with some upside. I mean that in a good way. Could even be like a dak prescott type. Armstrength isn't as important as it used to be. Getting the ball quick and reading defenses are more important.
also, they should keep all these qbs on unless one of them is definetly not good enough to be here. Never know when an injury bug happens
If Trent had more guts, he could have been an excellent QB.

I would bet that Yates and Woodrum are the odd men out. Yates was sort of an insurance policy IMO. Now that they added another QB he will be gone. Cardale and Peterman will compete for the number 2 role and this may be the last year for one of them. The Bills are going to see what they have first. It is like we always talk about, "keep bringing in guys until you have a franchise QB." I've read that 1,000+ times on here. They have 2 guys that they are trying to find out about and we may have another next year.
I agree. They picked up Yates because Jones is still too unpolished to be #2. I think Peterman alleviates that concern and will likely be the backup come September.
No reason to keep Yates in that scenario.

Both Brady and Eli came into the league with fairly weak arms. That's a lot of superbowls.
Not that it isn't an important trait, but definitely overrated.
-
More than anything, this team has lacked leadership.
I have no problem whatsoever with his approach. Players like White set a high bar, and it can be infectious.

How can anyone not be exited about this pick? Worst that happens is that a 5th rounder doesn't pan out.
All I've heard from pundits is that he's a potential steal who shouldn't have dropped so far, that he's accurate, that he scans the field and makes good decisions and has moxie. Also, he's one of the few guys Belichick looked at.
Could be our 10 year guy. At worst, he's probably the best backup we've had since Reich.
-
I wish him well, but it will be tough if he turns another team into a contender.
-
I'll feel better about this if it comes out at some point that McD ran this draft.
-
How?
They got no elite talent.
I don't even know what that really means.
-
Best roster we've had in years. I hope this isn't a big mistake.
-
Personally I hope he turns out to be good....he is a bill now
Well put.

Sums it up for me.Best draft I've witnessed in 20 years.
1- got a 1st rounder 2018
2- a QB that is custom built for our offense that can sit & learn
3- 3 starters in first 3 picks
4- no off field issues from anyone
5- Ragland is basically our 4th rd pick
This draft had vision and purpose. Feels like a new era here with McDermott.
I think if Peterman can become the Bills backup he will have beat the odds and maximized his talent, let alone start.
I'd love to hear what you're basing that on.

Christian Ponder 2.0
I'm not sure why people make these comparisons.
-
I've heard the word "moxie" twice.
I like that word with a qb. That's what Kelly had.
-
I guess we'll hear more about it as time goes on, but this felt like a McDermott draft.Peterman wasn't a Whaley pick, Peterman was a McDermott pick.
Maybe I'm overplaying it, but this draft felt like the start of a new era. And I'm not an anti-Whaley guy. But it seems like McDermott has brought a whole new philosophy and attitude.
We might even start winning.
-
There really isn't a cookie cutter approach to the draft. What works one year may not work the next.
We won't know for a few years, but as of today, it's hard to complain about this Bills draft.
-
I didn't think he'd make it to the 5th.
We may have gotten some luck here, for once. Just missed on Dak last year. This guy has real potential.
-
Why are some posters losing it?
It's the 5th round.
-
Probably beats out jones and Yates for the 2 spot.
-
They just said he's the most pro ready of all the Qb's drafted, and has the clutch gene.
He's also the only qb that Belichick had in for a workout.
-
It's fun watching his highlights. He really has skills.
Definitely has great hands - reminds me of Larry Fitz that way.
-
I'm not really sure what you're saying. The Bills have too much talent to actually "plan" to have a bad record.
You don't waste a whole season just to go after a certain prospect. This thread really makes no sense to me.
-
I'd rather not be insulted with a day 3 QB
I wouldn't mind Peterman, personally.
Why not us? 2017 Playoffs

We should have been a playoff team the last 2 years. Rex ruined the defense.
Love what I have seen from McD so far. Can't see us having the same issues with stupid penalties, late substitutions and poor clock management.
Watkins healthy, Ragland back, great draft class- we gonna shock the world.
