Roster cuts offer opportunities for Buffalo. WR’s David Bell -Cleveland, Simi Fehoko -LA, Allen Lazard- NY and Robert Woods in Houston may be on the outside looking in on their respective clubs. Woods and Lazard would have to pass through waivers as they are both price prohibitive. Bailey Zappe is a better QB than Mitch, if my eyes tell me anything. He’s a likely cut up north. Let’s go shopping!

I wonder if Woods has anything left?
Who would you rather have if having to choose one or the other between Trubisky and EJ Manuel? Lol, it's one of those hypothetical questions but one that I have a tough time answering

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Mahomes win a SB last season with basically nothing at WR? Brady did the same. Great QB's have made the receivers...not the other way around.
The jury is obviously still out, but I personally want to see Josh with a group of lesser talented guys that play hard and do things the right way so that Josh and the system can operate as intended.
Now it could fail spectacularly and I will be regretting what we didn't do, but the fact is that we didn't have cap space and Diggs/Davis wasn't a good fit anymore.
They brought guys in that had experience and at least a modicum of success in Samuel, Holllins, Claypool, and MVS. Should they have drafted another receiver in the draft? Probably.
Would that have made a significant difference? Consider my highly skeptical on that one.
This year we find out how good Josh can make a group of receivers without proven pedigrees...just like many greats have done before him. If it doesn't work, this organization is set up with draft capital and cap space to remedy it.
I suggest accepting what many expected this season to be at the end of last season...a reset of the cap so we can make a run after this upcoming season. If we exceed expectations, consider it a bonus.
Although they won the SB, throughout the season that offense struggled quite a bit and it definitely showed due to the WR position and all the drops etc for a majority of the season . Seems like it wasn't until about the last part of the season or so they started showing some improvement.
Also they had a very strong defense which lucky for them picked up all that slack.

I think we'd be in the same general vicinity but we'd drop half a tier. We would have lost some games we won, but we still would have racked up division championships. We wouldn't have gone on a 6 game win streak like we did last year, but we wouldn't have lost a bunch of those early season games either.
We'd have less playoff wins, but the same amount of Super Bowl rings.
Slightly higher floor, a lot lower ceilingSee I don't think we would be in the same general vicinity. I get the arguement of the bad division advantage....
However, there were some pretty good defenses in that bad division. Cousins I think would have a harder time handling those defenses compared to Allen.

Exactly, totally agree

The division has sucked.
I get that, but I still don't have the amount of confidence about Cousins as a few others might have. That being said, I think of Cousins as average and even with advantage of being in a bad division I don't feel confident he could win multiple division titles. But anyways, that's just me....

They’d be good. Not sure how good. But the offense with Diggs and Cousins wouldn’t be terrible. People forget how great the defense has been since 2019.
Bills regular season points allowed rankings.
2019 - 2nd
2020 - 16th
2021 - 1st
2022 - 2nd
2023 - 4th
I think the Bills win at least 2 division titles and maybe 3 with Cousins.Wow I have a real difficult time trying to find any reason that you feel confident enough to see "at least 2 division titles and maybe 3". I would say possibly could have won 1.

Would love him on the team. Wondering why he is still a FA though.
2 hours ago, TheWeatherMan said:Because our pass rush is so robust? I think it’s a no brainer at vet min to add him as a situational pass rusher. Bills reportedly had interest in the past.
To the "wondering why he is still a FA" statement, I'm not sure, but guessing it's a solid possibility it could have something to do with how his season was last year. Only having 4 sacks and 7 QB hits in 13 games after signing a 10.5 mil contract for 1 year.

We used to get the family together and come to games, especially for the TBDAHOT (home opener if you did not know).
LONG time ago two of my daughters were TBD raffle ticket girls (Baby Rock and Pebbles 😄). Old timers will remember.
Luckily my youngest daughter has a lot of support from both sides of the family. I cannot tell you what it is like to get this kind of news. Since I am retired I am a primary taxi for school, daycare, and dance.
Jamie was like a son to me, and my daughter is getting stronger every day. None of us knows where this new normal will lead, but it has a good foundation. There is a hole in that foundation will never be filled. So we look to the future and pray, What else can we do?
Again, thank you and I pray you are blessed with a strong family that pulls together when sh*t happens.
Rock
Sorry for the loss. I unfortunately just lost my best friend this past Wednesday who was a die hard Bills fan and thought I should have a thread to share how amazing of a person he was. Then I happened to see this thread and thought I'd just mention it here...
Gary was like a brother to me and because of him I went to my 1st Bills game. We had planned 30 years ago we were making the long trip up for the parade if Bills ever win a SB. Anyway, he was a true friend and I couldn't have hoped for a better one. My heart is crushed and a piece of me left when he did.

I wouldn’t be giving him up for pennies he’s 22 years old
you always need DBs as well so we would just be drafting a 5th-7th rounder to replace him or signing an old vet no thanks
I fully agree, I understand it should be a certain level of frustration with him, but some talk like he is worthless. He's had some flashes here and there, also I for one thought that INT he made in the EZ against Steelers in the playoffs was a damn good play.

Did yall hear his response? Talking about he'll get butt rped ? but by someone other than him. ?
Really a sad storyc, dude was on pace to being a top 5 - 10 WR all time and devolved into an awful rapper/Internet troll
If he was mentally "ok" even, he'd likely be playing for a contender this season.. Sad
Yeah, I don't bother wasting any time paying attention to these sort of ignorant things....
When hearing about the anal rape comment it kinda reminded me of back when Mike Tyson talked about eating someones children

Equal chances of the Bills pursuing FA WR's.Why do you believe that? You don't think they try any FA WR's at all?

That was unacceptable especially from an experienced HC that has been talked up as one of the top....
Also it could be considered a blessing in disguise because if Bills won Dorsey would have stayed around longer. I'm not sure if Bills go on that winning streak with Dorsey.

I don't know, it could go either way imo. I personally think it's a better chance that he doesn't.

Not even close? This is just factually wrong. We got the exact comparison you're making just last season. Tre White was at least at 80% last season. And that best game you talk about? It wasn't better than Douglas' best game. The games that weren't that game, he wasn't playing at the level that Douglas was for us prior to going down in Miami.
He didn't fully return to form with any sort of consistency before the Achilles injury. And now he'll be coming back from that too. He's a complete question mark at this point. There's no saying he'll even be 80% of what he was. It's incorrect to say that he was better than Douglas last year and insane to say he definitively will be when he returns.
Not trying to get all up in you guys conversation, but just wanted to say Benford is emerging as the best corner imo. Of course you can't leave out T. Johnson either

Because he always has.
He was still playing at an extremely high level in the 10 games he played in 2022 at age 33.
If we get 80% of that 10 game in 2022 Von Miller, it's better than "some of the younger guys." And who exactly are "some of the younger guys" you're referring to?
I just think he may be at that point in his career that this time may be different. And yes I agree he did play well those 10 games in 2022 at 33yo. Now this is 2024 and age 35. May not seem like much, but those 2 years from 33 to 35 can be a bigger difference than it seems. Don't get me wrong, I hope he does but I just have my doubts.
The younger guys I was thinking of was obviously AJE, Kingsley played hard when he got opportunities

It wasn't just 8 or 9 games to round back into form after his last injury. It was 6 games and then an entire offseason and then however many games in 2023 you would argue it took him in 2024.
Von now has an entire offseason to get his body right and recover.
You're actually convincing me even more that cutting Von simply won't happen. It's clear you think it's strictly his age as the reason he's "shot." You've hitched your wagon to that idea, and that's fine.
Brandon Beane signed him to a contract that very clearly intended to keep him for at least 3 years, plus the previous restructure.
Von Miller is not getting cut. He'll have the offseason to recover and get right and then we get to see what percent of the old Von he is in 2024.
I'm just not sure what it is that would make you feel confident enough at this point in his career he can return to perform very much better than some of the younger guys
2 hours ago, GunnerBill said:I don't dispute the final point - to be clear. But Von is toast. I'll happily eat crow if he isn't but I put the chances he is back at less than 5%.
I also don't have any issue moving on from both. But I'd probably try and find a pay cut I can live with for Tre first.
Yeah I think so too. Think probably at this point they'd end up better off to move on

Is it me or does Diggs look like he gained weight? His face looks a little different.
Maybe he lost motivation when Brady came onboard and cut down his downfield routes, started mailing it in a little.
Then he couldn't turn the focus back on when needed to on the few deep shots he got late in the year...
If anything, I'd guess it's probably that he's getting older and at that part in his career when a player starts to lose a lil juice or whatever.
But anyones guess is as good as mine I assume

Really? You feel the last 8-9 games Brady took over from Dorsey the offense was terrible? One could argue with Dorsey there were a few games you could say were terrible.
But since Brady it's been night and day difference.
