The Steelers yahoo fans seem downright cocky about this game. Will be great to send them packing

Yeah, I mean I highly doubt EVERY Steelers fan is that way, but had to go to a meeting this morning and as usual I was representing in one of my Bills 17 shirts so the speaker holding this meeting turned out to be a Steelers fan and was very quick to let me know.

Lol, soon as I walked into the room and before I even sat down they came up to me, after making it a priority to be sure and make it clear to me this was a Steelers fan then they said (and I quote), "you know Steelers gona win this game right, Mason gona tear yall up and can't stop Harris".

I was in a bit of shock lol. I just can't understand what it is that one would be that confident? Lol, I mean looking at how the season has been for the Steelers wouldn't install that amount of confidence I'd think. If going off of only the 3 games won with Mason Rudolph (who they said sucked not long ago) and that makes them have that level of confidence then that is crazy

Davis actively wants a powerful leader who he can just hand the keys too. That was his plan with Gruden. Give him all the power, let him pick his own personnel team and then step away and leave them to it. I can see that appealing to Harbaugh.

Mark Davis and Jim Harbaugh would be a perfect match imo.  As eccentric as Mark Davis is I don't think he's the type of owner that runs interference when it comes to football operations.  Harbaugh could just draft JJ McCarthy and essentially bring him from Michigan.  As far as money goes, this is an owner that gave Jon Gruden a 10 year 100m dollar contract.  I think Davis would outbid the competition.

Not that you guys are wrong regarding your post to this subject, however, I'd point out that A.Pierce made a fairly strong case for himself and I could easily see him getting the chance with full offseason etc  to get the job with the quick turn around that team did from a messy situation.

His best timeout of the season was this weekend when they were in shotgun on 3rd and 1.  You know he talked to Josh and said "whatever Brady called, ignore it.  Get it yourself"

This was exactly what popped in my mind when that timeout was called. I thought it was a very good timeout

I am not a betting man and this won’t change this weekend.  That said, I’m curious about what the learned here think.   If i had to bet, I’d take the points.  The Pats are always prepared and it’s a December divisional game.   Bills by 7 to 10.  What say the informed?

Well speaking for myself, I'm leaning toward it being a good chance Bills win this one by double digits. With being at home and ready to hit them back from the tough loss few weeks back, I'd go with Bills winning big

Decent guy to kick the tires on for the PS.  Not much more at this point.

Exactly, we have been fortunate enough to stay healthy for the most part at least for the OL position. So it's definitely worth looking into just in case with this playoff push ahead of us.

I am not arguing our line is elite. It isn't at that standard. But it is a good line. Easily the best Josh has had. Borderline top 10.

This is spot on here and hard to argue any different imo. Fully agree and it isn't anyone claiming they are "elite" (least I would hope not)..... but I think it's quite clear that this Oline has performed much better and don't see how that can be disputed.

I’m not saying it wasn’t improved. What I was responding to was the notion that the oline didn’t lose a game for us, which if it wasn’t for Allen’s maneuvering and throw, that may have been the game for us on that play and most likely the season.

Ok, I got it. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Didn't pay enough attention to all the details from the other post you were responding to.

Allen is a huge reason for why the oline hasn’t lost us a single game. Just this past game, they allowed a complete jailbreak and Allen had to make an amazing throw to get the first down and get us in field goal range to win the game. If it wasn’t for Allen’s throw, he would have been sacked for a 10 yard loss.

These things happen sometimes to every team, even the ones with the best Olines. I mean I don't see how you or anyone can deny the improvement of this Oline

Won’t this apply to Jackson as well? Also, for both Jackson and Allen, because they are elite playmakers, they both can hurt their o lines by taking some negative plays as well.

I never played oline (skill player 😎) and it bores me. But it is so important and everyone seems to think the Bills oline has taken a huge step forward this year which is awesome.

I would assume so if it were to be calculated that way. I mean can't really apply it to one player and not the others.

But Idk, the poster I quoted stated escapibility wasn't taken into account, so I was just wondering if it might be something used if it was taken into account

I don't think Allen is playing with a poor offense, but I don't think it's anything special compared to other teams in the top half of the league. Take the O-line. One of the reasons we all take PFF grades with a grain of salt is that they don't take into account all relevant factors, such as the QB's escability. What percentage of pass drops do we see Allen dodge missed blocks instead of taking a sack? It's so normal, we don't even notice anymore. Drop back, dodge a whiffed block, throw. Rinse and repeat. Put any but a small handful of other QBs back there and watch the PFF grades plummet.

I grant you that Cook is a real weapon, but Murray, Ty Johnson, Davis, Shakir, Knox, Sherfield, and Harty are all no more than above average. Diggs is the only "A" player besides Allen. Kincaid? A nice player with excellent potential. So, yeah, I would say Allen deserves MVP because he does more with less than any of his competitors.

Put it this way: Allen would do better than Mahomes if Allen played in KC, better than Lamar in Baltimore, Burrow in Cincinnati, Purdy in SF, Hurts in Philly, Prescott in Dallas, and certainly Tua in Miami. Flip it around and the opposite is true: None of these QBs would do as well as Allen has with the Buffalo roster.

I agree with the point you're making here. Just to add pertaining to the bold, at times Allen had a clean pocket and still took off so don't know if that would help or hurt if were doing escapability?

Imagine getting AJE back as well as DQ.  I'd rather have him at 75% compared to how Von has been playing.

I don't know if AJ will end up back on the field against the Pats or not, but I can see them possibly waiting til the Fins game to activate him.
