I’m not going to go down the conspiracy rabbit hole, but with all the money being bet on NFL games, the League HAS to do something to reduce the influence the officials have on game outcomes.  Obviously, it will never be reduced to zero, but there has to be a way to at least reduce their influence.  Here are my thoughts but very interested if anyone has a thought on this.

Defensive PI.  Move from spot foul to 15 yards.  If “flagrant” PI becomes an issue, tinker with the rule the following year.

Illegal contact. Increase area for contact from 5 to 10 yards.  Eliminate ticky tack fouls. Contact has to be substantial and reduce receiver’s ability to contest for a catch.  The call on the Eagles last night in the second half gifting the Chiefs a first down was a travesty.

Defensive holding. Again, eliminate ticky tack foul.  Holding has to reduce receiver’s ability to contest for a catch.

Offensive holding. At least be consistent.

Sick of refs determining outcomes.  Thoughts?

It sucks, but I would think they won't do anything about it since nothing has been done by now

Maybe someone mentioned already, but Sal on WGR this AM was touting how this time the Bills get to game plan for Zach Wilson all week instead of planning for Rodgers then getting Wilson in game 1. He was serious about this. I almost crashed my car.

Lol, yeah I can't see how he could think this...I mean if it was 1st time Bills played against Wilson it would make lil sense somewhat. But Bills have faced Wilson a few times and familiar enough with him to where it's shouldn't be a problem

Like his energy and how relatable he was around the guys. It was a freaking 30 second video lol but I like his energy.

Starting to feel like Dorsey lacked this aspect of coaching.  His x's and o's might have been great but maybe he didn't get through to the guys because of his personality.

Yeah, it's a big opportunity for him he's wanting to take advantage of. So one can assume he will have a different approach among other things from Dorsey

If they don't, it's a perfect time to change regimes. This regime didnt get it done on their first go around with a franchise QB. Why would we want them around for the second try? Get a couple new decision makers in the building now while they still have an opportunity to rebuild the team in the image they want.

My guess is for that to happen is if they don't get in playoffs. Because if they do end up getting in then after all this who do you think gets the credit for turning things around?

food for thought that I hadn't considered before today

in a battle of wills that would eventually decide who stays and who goes, could Allen potentially lose out to McDermott?

This has a feeling of sarcasm to me, but hard to tell on here sometimes lol.

Anyways, if that were to happen the Bills would officially win the award for dumbest franchise in a landslide lol

I'm crying inside.  That CLOWN beat this team.  Worse than 12 men on the field on that final drive

Nah man, it's not even close really imo.

I mean even taking into consideration Jets are division rival that Z. Wilson leading at QB managed to win that game as close as it was, there wasn't any definitive moment where it was clear inept coaching that played a big factor in that loss.

Now I can honestly say what was witnessed against Denver is something I can't recall ever seeing before. To be more clear, I'm not talking about just the 12 on the field, that's not what I'm referring to. It's the moment in the game when and how it happened in that type of scenario. Making it worse is Denver already did the same thing before the half and knew it was coming again

I guess you aren’t getting what I am saying. Of course they will be changes. Fundamentally it will be the same offense. What they use from that offense might differ. Play calls, game plan will naturally be different because different people see different things and have their own spin or what they think is right. Expecting the 49ers offense or Philly offense or Joe Brady to install his own entire system is what isn’t going to happen.

I don't think there's anyone expecting an entire new system change.

I expect at least 2 turnovers by Allen.  He is elite in that department.

Yeah I have been getting sh*t from a friend who's a Viking fan because each week I got a over/under how many INTs Cousins would throw bet going with some others. Now he's doing it with Allen lol

You don't get it. Josh needs to own his poor play but that doesn't take this mediocre OL off the hook or Beane's lack of attention to it.

When looking at his interviews/comments etc, he has always owned his poor play each and every time. That's not an issue, owning it only matters if you learn from it. And that's the issue with him more often than it should be

Yeah what I meant by that is that they can't change the playbook.  All they can do is the things I said above.  Its largely going to be the same offense.

They can change certain plays and install some ideas he may have. You're not going to fire someone to keep things the same. There will be (or should be) some changes

Tough to do this in a short week or it must’ve been that bad

Maybe this had been discussed with Brady couple weeks or so back this was a strong chance this would happen and prepare in advance?

But then that would imply McD is on top of things and that hasn't seemed to be the case

Its too difficult to install an entire new offense once the season starts. There is a reason these guys go through training camps.  Thats the time to install offense.  All they can do now is keep the same offense but hopefully form better game plans, execute better, and do a better job of having rhythm in the game.  If Joe does a good job it would be because he was able to identify what in the offense works and what doesn't.  Maybe simplify it down to what they can better execute.

I mean I don't expect an entire new offense obviously. You said too late to change "anything" which is what I was referring to.

  13. Just now, Scott7975 said:

I expect to see the same offense because its too late to change anything.  I also expect that Joe B does his best to get the guys executing better and taking the stuff that does work and try to keep with that.  How the results turn out, I have no idea.

Why is it too late to change anything? I mean usually when someone gets fired it's because change is needed.

Lot of skepticism in here...and its fair skeptcism given the gravity of the situation.

But, look at what a coaching shakeup did for the Raiders...2 straight wins and a completely different intensity and level of fire in the players.

This offense was flat, had no identity, no consistency, no fire and hasn't been having any fun.  If the change to Brady can breath some renewed life into the players and offense, bring some identity, can bring some creativity and new wrinkles...then he doesn't have to be perfect for there to be a big boost to this team and for the Bills to go on a run.

And if the offense gets back to being what it should be, this team can still beat anyone in the league.  But with the anemic offense of the past 6 weeks it was also capable of losing to literally any team in the league too.  So lets hope Brady brings the offense back up to where it should be

I'm not sure if I'm in the minority or not, but I'm opposite and think there's a decent chance this will be a good thing
