    When I started with The Corps (the First Corps, 6/16/1775 one... NOT that one with a birthday in November of same year... ?)... Presque Beach erosion project I was on.  Built the stone mounds.  Did the hydrographic survey work and soundings for the walls.  That project one Engineering awards, one of the first to employ those self-nourishing (beach) methods.  The beaches nourish w/sand so well that you can walk out onto some of them!

    You folks did a great job!

     @/dev/null is from Erie, this is the one time in my life I feel sorry for him... What a terrible place to grow up!  Poor fella, now I know why he's so desparate... Even with the new XBox scented body wash, probably a no-go.

    Erie has nice beaches,great fishing...Presque Isle is a very calming place to stay for a week or two in the summer,very low key.I

    Can we say that about B-low.......

    No

    I'm the same man... really don't like being around them either, no matter of "oh he's a big baby" what an owner says. Give me a black lab all day long. I hate those little teacup style dogs too... don't really care what Mimi is wearing or did today or yesterday or ever.

    Do you really ever think I would put you in harm's way???????

    Anybody with a invite to my HOME becomes part of us...you people are strange,not trustworthy...

    This is a tough, controversial, subject.

    I know that many people have owned pit bulls and have never had problems with them.

    I also know that in nearly every pit bull attack on a human that I read, a common comment is, "we've had the dog for years and it's always been so sweet."

    It is my opinion that the aggression/viciousness is "hardwired," into this breed.  It may be a recessive trait that can be suppressed, but it is always there.  And the unpredictability of when it will show is what's scariest.  I've read about multiple "otherwise sweet," pit bulls attacking their owners.

    I am personally scared to death of them.  For that reason, I won't go near them, as I fear that they'll pick up on my fear.

    I don't think the breeding of pit bulls should continue.

    People can say, "it's the owners who make them mean," but the statistics don't tell that story at all.

    Damn...so much for you ever excepting a invitation to my home when you make it in.

    I never thought of you as being a closed minded guy.

    You should move to WNY.  It is only 54 degrees here today.  The average high is supposed to be in the 70's by now.  This weather f*cking blows.

    You'll be smelling the bbq from CP this weekend.

    Thanks for the advice. We booked the rooms mostly because the ladies in the group liked the pool and the happier they are there the more time I can explore.

    Local joints are a must, I don’t do Olive Garden and all that Jazz. What’s near the Millenium that is a must have? I assume there has to be wings close by?

    Duff's is on Dick near Walden...5 mins from the hotel. Best wings in b-low.

    Alton's on Walden..around the corner..breakfast..24/7 busy,very busy.

    I can tell you I return from my trips to Buffalo (or really anywhere I used to live) heavier than when I leave! It’s all about the old stomping grounds and the food & drink!  There are not enough meals in the day to get it all done. Know the good stuff!

    I know not one former local over the age of 50 that comes back home and needs a Mighty Taco fix.

    Lime..America has jumped up to a different level these days...those heavy loads contained dirt and plant junk.You would be surprised to see (numbers) how many people "grow solo" now ...this generation doesn't feel comfortable with meeting "Sammy the Stick" on a side street in the city any more.I know a retired cop that wants into the run (once it's legal).

    Just My Two Cents Worth.

    That’s my favorite part! Last year I went straight from the airport to Schwabl’s for beef on weck, and never stopped eating for the rest of the trip. It can take a toll on you! But it was worth it!

    Hey Aug...don't forget,they serve a awesome fresh hot carved turkey sandwich as well.

    Back, by absolutely NO popular demand, here is Gunner's roster thread. As the regulars among you will recall this isn't just a projection of who makes the roster this is a bit more nuanced. It is trying to categorise the locks, the likelies and the hopefuls. Here is my first stab at categorising the players currently on the Bills' 2019 roster (missed a few out who I consider basically no-hopers but if one flashes I will add in later updates).

    BLACK - Guaranteed roster spot (excluding major injury or suspension)

    BLUE - Probable roster spot

    RED - Fighting for those last few spots

    T.J Yeldon

    Marcus Murphy

    Christian Wade

    Senorise Perry

    Tight End

    Tyler Kroft (remember this is excluding major injury - chance he is IR'd very little chance he is flat out released)

    Dawson Knox

    Lee Smith

    Tommy Sweeney

    Jason Croom

    Wide Receivers

    John Brown

    Cole Beasley

    Robert Foster

    Zay Jones

    Andre Roberts

    Isaiah McKenzie

    Before anyone raises it - yes - one of the two punters will likely make the team. But I don't know that either has a leg up at this early stage, both are coming off long term injury and it isn't beyond the realm of possibility they end up bringing in a guy a week or so before the season as they did last year. For these reasons I don't think you can call either of them "probable" at this stage. They are the very definition of battling for a roster spot.

    That gives me:

    31 locks;

    13 probables;

    9 spots very much up for grabs.

    Thought interesting to do a comparison with where we were when I started this thread last year (which was later it was the eve of camp so not quite a like for like comparison but close enough). Last year I had:

    28 locks;

    15 probables;

    10 spots up for grabs.

    Of my 28 locks last year 27 made the 53 (Colton Schmidt didn't though obviously did end up back here for a spell in the course of the season) and of my 15 probables the only two that didn't - AJ McCarron and Marshall Newhouse - were traded away.

    Okay TBD.... as you always do.... let me have it!

    No reason to pull any punches with you...you could be a defensive cord at some college.I respect you and I always look forward to your posts.

    thanks for your educated thoughts about this football team..I'm with you 90% of the time.
