  1. I am not opposed to anything, outside trading Josh Allen. The OC point is a valid one, any young guy will get poached after a year or two (and most can return after they get fired). Bills could hire a veteran OC who’s a failed HC, likely wouldn’t gather much HC interest again. In my opinion, this summer is a bad one to need a new HC. I’d rather see them keep McD one more season and get themselves a true, established OC to come in and take over. If they fail next year, fire everyone. Ben Johnson will likely be in year 2 as an OC, DaBoll will probably be available, and who knows who else.
  2. Awful lot of these facts sound like opinions. Fire McDermott is easy. Replace him with who is the hard part.
  3. Now I’m curious to see what happens to this thread if the Bills right the ship and dominate late like they usually do lol
  4. Move on to who? A 1st time OC? A retread? A college coach? I really think the correct route is to fire Dorsey and bring in a top flight offensive mind with OC experience. Bonus for a failed HC who won’t get poached from here in two seasons.
  5. He wasn’t talking to his players, he was talking to self obsessed journalists and dipshiet fans.
  6. He has a very long history of not publicly throwing coaches under the bus.
  7. Benford and Johnson haven’t been much better… Of all Buffalo’s issues, Dane Jackson doesn’t jump out at me. He’s the primary backup at both spots.
  8. This. He’s also a proven elite QB coach. Dorsey was the right hire for a magnitude of reasons. Dorsey hasn’t put it all together as an OC and likely will run out of time in Buffalo. We compare him to Dabs all the time but it’s unfair. This was Dabs 3rd stint as an OC and wasn’t elite until year 3 in Buffalo, and that was just the greatness he got from Allen. Bills couldn’t run or block with Dabs coaching the offense, and the drops had been much worse. Dorsey, eventually, will be a great OC. It’s pointless to keep him because once he is great, he will have 3-5 years experience at that point and will get called up to be a HC someplace.
  9. Wait… so we are running the offense that Josh wants to run?
  10. I would agree with that, but (especially with Davis) they aren’t consistently average. I’ll take a guy who is always a 7/10 than a guy who is either a 4/10 or a 9/10.
  11. People seriously need to stop looking to PCs for answers. You REALLY think the things said at the podium are the same things said in private meetings? Come on. I get it, but I think hiring a 1st time OC to HC would be a massive gamble that historically isn’t worth taking.
  12. It’s been said all year, but Gabe has a good game then disappears for a week. I think Josh would settle for a guy who’s good for 4-5 a game than someone who’s good for 9 catches one week, then 2 the next.
  13. Problem is I don’t think there is a McDermott replacement out there. The Josh Allen factor will open lots of HC candidates. That said, minus a losing record, I think the odds the Bills fire McDermott are very low. Odds they fire Dorsey is probably higher than most realize. Bills will likely be able to hire whatever candidate they want at OC.
  14. History the McDermott Bills meh until late November
  15. Correct. Dane Jackson put in 110% effort, but he and Benford were completely outmatched. Williams and Dodson… woof.
  16. Losing Jones, White, and Milano is even worse since none of their backups stepped up. Rapp has also been pretty bad. A defense that lost its MLB and FS to boot.
  17. A blocking TE? 🤦🏻 Knox had 97 catches, over 1100 yards, 15 TDs, and caught over 72% of his targets over 2021 and 2022. I’m sorry he strained his quad and broke his wrist in 2023. 🤦🏻
  18. Dawson Knox is not the 7th highest paid TE this year, after FA next year he’ll be outside the top-10.
  19. Again, Knox contract isn’t top end. It’s high middle.
  20. It’s D) All of the above. Dorsey’s offense isn’t a fit for Josh Allen, you likely have to get rid of one this summer. McBeane took huge gambles on old players (Hyde, Poyer, Miller, Joseph, Douglas) and so far it hasn’t been great. Beane has a few key FA misses (Ford and Rapp are major misses) The FA target misses have made the injury situation that much worse.
  21. Tre has an opt out this summer that saves 6 mill but has a 10 mill dead cap. Von doesn’t have an out til 2025, huge dead cap makes it unlikely to be released. Retirement may be a legitimate storyline this summer. Knox contact, while a high average, is only pricey next year then the team also has an opt out. I think it’s significantly more likely the team restructures his deal than releases him. So there you have it. Tre release/opt out/pay cut, Knox restructure, Von pray.
  22. Yes he has the most, but elite Josh Allen (2020+) doesn’t have significantly more than Mahommes or Burrow. They’re all pretty close. I still don’t think DaBoll or Dorsey are great OCs.
  23. This, same story last year with the ankle.
