Tyrod will not be handed starting Job
Crusher replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Taylor not being the solution makes him part of the problem. The QB play isn't good enough. A simplified offense with no complexity to it that is exposed when passing is how games are decided is a major problem. It's highly unlikely he fixes those passing issues also at this point -

I'm actually quite content with letting these posters live in their fantasy world where Tyrod Taylor is actually a good QB. Reality shows you otherwise, and the facts are that he has major flaws that are highly unlikely to be fixed at this stage oof his career, so what's much more likely is he hovers around the 2015/2016 average and never progresses any further. You can make excuses and claim he needs these coaches and these players, but when you just don't possess the required skill set of a true passer, you will always be limited. And the injury excuse also holds no water. Do you believe all his weapons will stay healthy? It's almost a foregone conclusion that skill players will miss time with injuries...get used to it. Either you get it done or you don't, and Tyrod never has. So, please....go right ahead and conjure up images and thoughts of Tyrod Taylor becoming something more than he's shown to be. Wishes are fun to make, but likely never fulfilled. -

That is far from being proven. My guess is he puts up similar numbers, but to say he's better than Woods is purely speculation on your part. -

Looks like the only one dishing out personal insults here is you, my friend. You are outing yourself more and more over the course of this thread. And I, for one appreciate you doing so. -

Of course things aren't what they seem to be when it fits you're narrative. If McD would have gave a halfhearted endorsement though, you would have claimed it meant nothing and was just talk to promote competition and to bring out the best in Tyrod. You view things in the light that supports what you believe. This is undeniable. -

You have made numerous posts on with the same tone on this board and the other one. Are you really this dense that you can't recognize it? -

This is how everyone should view Transplant. He believes his POV is correct and condemns every one else and their opinions. And on top of that, he will blast others that do the same things he does, except that they are on the other side of the fence in that they don't believe in Tyrod. This guy is delusional, hypocritical, and so caught up in himself that it's impossible to legitimately discuss this topic with him. -
Bills Hiring Joe Schoen as Asst. GM

Go look at their schedule and who they played. Miami was a fraud -
It was just another attempt by the OP to justify his view that Taylor is some kind of QB that is better than what most people can clearly see when watching him. And he used a guy who doesn't fully grasp the game and is fairly new to watching it on top of it all. I can't wait for his next puff piece that he digs up from wherever.

What don't you understand when I say the mental side of playing QB in the NFL? You are taking my strictly football opinion on Taylor and viewing it as an insult because anything other than praise or optimism offends you...I get that. Just a few pages back I said I wasn't questioning the man's intelligence. What you are failing to grasp here is that there is a difference between intellect and football smarts...more specifically, QB smarts. It's all just misinterpretation and insults with you, and it's tiresome. Having to routinely go back and clarify things I've already said is getting very old.

Has Tyrod ever shown you that he commands the offense? That he gets the offense set up and adjusts according to what he sees at the line? Most QB's that have to worry about getting the play off are doing so because they are making adjustments at the line according to what they are seeing from the defensive alignment. Tyrod isn't doing this. Are you telling me that Roman and his plays were that complex that Tyrod couldn't decipher it and took too long...longer than guys that get the call, examine the defense, adjust the call and then run the play? Lynn simplified reads along with verbiage...I think there's a bit more truth to Tyrod not being that good at processing info on the field and in the huddle than some here are saying. Kaepernick ran Roman's offense very well and he's no genius, so based off all these things, it's fair to say that Tyrod may just struggle with processing info on the field and making reads...a big thing for a QB. All we've heard and seen is a simple passing game, issues making reads and anticipating receivers, not using certain areas of the field, and having to have the offense scaled back with less reads, less verbiage, and less ability to make calls at the line. It's fair to conclude that based off of all that, that we have a QB that while talented...he's lacking in vital area's where it's most important for the leader of an offense. Or maybe someone will come back in this thread and tell me that I'm misinterpreting things, lol.

The fact that Taylor couldn't successfully run Roman's offense, and that Lynn had to dumb it down for starters. He doesn't make changes at the line pre snap, and Lynn took even more responsibility away to help him get plays ran quicker. All these things point to a guy who just isn't very good at the x's and O's part of the job. The talent is there, but he's lacking in terms of what he sees and processes. That's just what I've taken from what I've seen and heard. I know people say Tyrod is smart, and I won't challenge that. What I will challenge is how smart is he in football terms related to being a QB? I haven't seen much of anything that shows me smarts and a high IQ for the position.
-
I haven't seen anything that tells me he will be able to process what's going on at the level that a player like Brees does, which allows him to be successful. In theory, I could see why some may have hope that getting out of the pocket more will help him more, but I'm skeptical. I think he lacks some of the mental aspects that those really good passers have. The good news is that we shall find out...
-
It doesn't really matter who Tyrods OC is IMO. You are really only going to be able to do so much with a limited passer. The last two season's we ran alot and only gave Taylor what he could handle, and you have seen the results. Team's have figured out that Taylor is getting by on more playmaking than actual passing ability. Dennison will come up with some more smoke and mirrors stuff to utilize the unique skill set Tyrod has, but that stuff has a shelf life and will ultimately get picked up on, too. It's ok to have hope that Dennison will get more out of Tyrod, but realistically...I don't believe you can expect significant improvement. Nothing major will change in Taylor's game Unless he can master the basics that he still has major trouble with.

If what you say about Fahey is true, which I assume is the case since you are a respected poster, then this guy has absolutely ZERO credibility in what he does if you ask me. Just another case of Transplant reaching as far as he has to in order to achieve his confirmation bias. He would tell us Stevie Wonders evaluation of Tyrod was something worthwhile if it furthered his crusade. It really is laughable anymore at this point. The lengths the OP goes to for a guy that at best is nothing more than a middling option with major weaknesses on basic QB skills only makes me question him as a legitimate poster. It's to the point of obsessive trolling IMO, and that's hard to respect.

I said you almost make it seem as if he got the deal he wanted. No misquoting here. You can claim this deal is better than the old one...it possibly can be. It could also be a disaster if he suffers a major injury. And if he doesn't improve this season, he is likely relegated to being a backup and not seeing a whole lot of guaranteed money. This is why logic dictates you take the multi year deal with a good deal of guarantees over risking injury or short term deals with little guarantees if your play deteriorates. I think we have reached agree to disagree status here, but I still appreciate your side of things.
-
The difference is that Shaw's guy was apparently absolutely certain that this was the deal he wanted. The word another poster used comes to mind here...ludicrous. None of us here have stated that things as matter of factly. Some, including myself have simply noted how players normally look to get multi year deals with as much guaranteed money as possible...especially ones that are merely average. Also, with how common injury is in the league...players tend to not gamble against something not happening to them. The way Shaw worded it almost makes it sound like he leveraged a better deal for himself, and that is something else I simply can't buy into. I contend his scenario is less likely from everything I've seen and heard about contracts and with the uncertainty of injuries and the very real possibility of team's not taking care of players beyond what they can get guaranteed. The numbers bare it out, as well. Most guys want multi year deals with guaranteed money. Big names will occasionally let a season or two play out in order to really cash in, but lesser players rarely take such risk.
-
So this guy you know knows Taylor got what he wanted? Does he speak with Taylor? If not...you're guy is merely speculating. Players of Tyrods caliber and playing style don't gamble on one year deals...they get a good offer with alot of guaranteed money and smile all the way to the bank. Injuries are far too common for guys to play on a year by year basis. It's quite foolish for a player or an agent to do such a thing. If you're guy was adamant that he unequivocally got what he wanted, then I have to question how he reached that conclusion. I don't think you can make that kind of statement without knowing the played personally.

PFF: Tyrod Taylor #2 starting QB in AFCE
Crusher replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
None of what you said here has any bearing on what I was trying to say. You can say "well, the Bills just ran for alot more TD's than other team's, and while that's true (They were actually the only team to score more TD's on the ground than through the air), it doesn't change my premise, which is that Taylor was less responsible for his team's offensive production than most other QB's. And I'll see your threat of the run helping the offense and raise you linebackers and safeties playing closer to the line because they aren't concerned with getting beat with the pass. -
These are called excuses. Shady and Sammy were hurt in 2015, and Rex and Roman were the coaches, but now since Taylor struggled in 2016, those guys were bums, and we conveniently forget that the players and coaches around him were pretty much the same. All the talk going into last year is that Tyrod would tear it up with another year under his belt and in Roman's system. Funny how quickly the tide turned.
