Just curious if those in the know, know if Buffalo is changing anything about their conditioning program.  Yes, every team has injuries, but Buffalo was absolutely crippled by them, both in number and the quality of player taken down.  And it's been two seasons in a row now.

To be clear, I'm asking seriously.  I'm no doc, or that knowledgable about the specifics of the different injuries or how teams handle this kind of stuff.  I know it's been bad luck, and I honestly don't know if there is anything we could change/improve to try and help cut down on them.

I think this team can go all the way, and would hate to see a third straight season sniped by yet another epidemic of injuries.

I hope we're not playing overseas this year.  And I'm not thrilled we're at Detroit again.  Hope their turf doesn't claim more victims. >.>

My source said these will be under the Bills uniforms...

Anyone here collect? If so, what are some of your most prized Bills related items?

I mostly have some signed mini helmets and photos, but I do have an OJ Simpson rookie card, Kelly & Tasker rookies.  Have some mini helmets and photos signed by a number of the 90s Bills.  Not much of a jersey guy.

May need to add something from Josh Allen to the collection.

    Go Bills!

I mainly collect sports cards, I have hundreds of Bills players graded/non graded and many other non bills hall of famers also.

Floyd, Epenesa, Settle, Phillips, Jones and Lawson.

You have got to think at least one or two of these guys come back.

Floyd will not be back for less money.....he has no loyalty to the Bills as he only played here for one year.

Epenesa and Jones will be interesting to watch because I am sure the Bills would want these two back on team friendly deals, but they could probably command more money elsewhere....we will see what is most important to them.

I would put Settle, Phillips and Lawson in a category marked "back only if the Bills want them back"....I think Phillips and Lawson are good depth players who are "Buffalo guys" and would want to be back.....they also bring much needed attitude and energy to the defense.

In the end, I think the Bills will end up signing DaQuan Jones, Phillips and Lawson.

    What do you think??

I don't think Jones or Epenesa will be taking team freindly deals imo. he was 7M last season and I doubt he would want less than that.

No tags expected on some of the big names - Jacobs, Barkley, Henry, Pollard, Ekeler and more. This RB free agent pool is gonna be stacked. Guessing we can upgrade from Harris/Murray/Johnson and it wont cost much at all. Here is who we are looking at:

    Barkley

    Jacobs

    Ekeler

    Henry

    Pollard

    Swift

    Dillon

    Singletary

    Moss

    Dobbins

    Edwards

    Elliott

    Edwards-Helaire

    Gibson

    McKinnon

    Murray

    Harris

    Akers

    Kelley

Cooks/Ty Johnson are a solid duo, possibly add an undrafted rookie big bodied FA and we're golden. No need to waste money and assets on something we already have. If anything Gus Edwards would be the guy I'd add, I doubt he'd command much and he's the big bruiser we need in goaline situations.

I'm not for signing Henry, but after restructures of Josh Allen and others, plus contract extensions for Dawkins, Douglas, Taron and possibly Morse, the Bills will be 20-30 million under the cap.

That's true but all those restructures do is kick the can down the road. If we want to move on from Diggs as early as next year all the restructuring we've done will end up being a dead cap hit at some point that we'll have to eat. Allen is fine he'll be here forever but what about guys like Knox (I hear he's making more than Travis Kelce), Dion Dawkins is getting older, pretty soon all these restructures are going to bite us in the ass. Just fill in the spots you need after the restructures with drafted talent and get out of the restructure hell!

Does the team have the money to sit back and see what they have with him now? I don't think they do. We can't just leave things as they are and hope things are better in August. That's how you end up with more Trent Sherfield's and Deonte Harty's at skill positions. The team needs to explore every option to bring in better talent, and since we have two starting outside cornerbacks, I can't see how it'd be smart to bring back a player who was so noticeably skittish about coming back from his ACL injury, and then performed like a joke when he finally came back later that season. We can just hold onto Tre in the hope that after a tough 2024, he's gonna come out of the other end as the old version of himself in 2025. And even if that's the best case scenario, that's not close to good enough. That would basically mean we were paying this man top dollar for 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 to either sit on the bench or play like *****. Let's let him go and thank him for being a great guy. He can go be a great guy for the NY Giants as he's getting smoked by AJ Brown. We don't need him in his current state for the amount of money he costs. Or really at any cost considering the guy hardly plays, and has played like absolute ass most of the games he's been in since his injury.

Sure and if he accepts a highly reduced rate that allows us to make other moves fine. But if he doesn't want to, they better be able to make that so called "tough decision" pretty easily.

I mean they could always give him a pay cut and they will again most definitely be restructuring guys like Dawkins/Diggs/Allen etc in order to create more room. But I disagree about leaving things as is, I think we have a strong bunch of core players we just need to stay healthy. We'll be losing a bunch of players this year but I think Beane has done a really good job finding talent all throughout the draft so I think we'll be alright. I'm sure they'd make that decision if it came down to it but I'd rather keep our star players than just cut them for no reasoning, Tre was starting to turn into his old self before the injury so before I old yeller him out by the pasture I'd like to see if the old dog has anything left.

It's right there in the title. The man we basically got in return for Patrick Mahomes has basically been nowhere for this team since 2021. He's due to make a ton of money in 2024 and judging by his "comeback" in 2022, it seems absolutely insane that they are gonna pay him all that money next season to fearfully rehab through November and then play like a 5th rate CB when he comes back.

We also have two starting CB. Benford and Douglas.

Cut Tre White's ass as soon as we can. Either that or he needs to accept a shitload less money, cuz otherwise we will just be showing that this team is not serious about winning a Super Bowl.

Wouldn't it be a better idea to see where he's at before cutting him? He was an vital piece of our defense pretty much since he's been drafted and has been nothing short of a great leader back there, I think he deserves better than "let's cut his ass now". The hot takes are running wild on here!!!

This whole Chiefs dynasty falls on one man and one man only, in hindsight.

    Sean McDermott

He is the one who traded the pick to KC that they used to take Mahomes because he "hadn't had time to study the QB class" even though his owner wanted Mahomes.

I literally felt like he should have been fired last night for making us all endure this. If Mahomes comes to Buffalo in 2017, he never turns into the QB he did.

I'm not going to roast those who don't like McDermott, sometimes he makes me question things also but I want to know who you think is the best candidate to take over for McDermott? A realistic option.

For me it would have been Jim Harbaugh, that is the only guy I would have wanted here over our current HC. I don't like Harbaugh's personality at all, I think he comes off very smug and a better than you are mentality but he's a winner no matter where he goes and the players always want to play for him. Just putting any Offensive coach here doesn't make sense imo but I'd like to know who you think would be better.

The guy gets praised as an offensive genius and rightfully so, but he sure does choke in big games.

3 superbowls with double digit leads. 3 losses. (2 as HC)

Several examples of players not executing last night, including fumbles and missed passes, so not all coaching. But it starts at the top and Bills fans should know, it's hard to overcome a HC that puts the team in bad spots.

Questionable calls on multiple key third downs, not prepared at all for KC blitz

Stretch where it seemed like he got away from the run too much

Could have got the ball back before halftime with 50 seconds and 1TO, but elected to let the clock run out

Chose to receive in OT, which is inexcusable IMO. And then made it even worse by kicking the FG instead of going for a TD

Players didn't even know the overtime rules until they saw it on the jumbotron before OT

I think people are being way too critical imo, I realize we're sick of the Chiefs winning SB's and all but the difference of winning dynasties is not only talent but lady luck on your side as well. The ball on the KR hitting the guys foot and the botched XP were the games deciding factors. Until that point the 49ers defense was smothering Mahomes, Kelce was over on the sidelines practically knocking his coach over, they were frustrated and then that happened. Who knows if they make the XP there is no way of telling if Mahomes gets the go ahead TD (it was 4th and goal) and if they dont score they lose the game. It reminded me alot of the Brady lead SB's, when Pete Carroll decided to throw and the 1 inch line instead of running in the TD, maybe not as bad as that obviously but those are the costly mistakes that lose you games.

I thought Purdy played a good game but the real SB MVP should be the Chiefs secondary, the best yardage total by a WR was 49 yards from Aiyuk. I didn't see anything in Shannahan's game that looked like he choked and even the Chiefs WR who caught the TD to win the SB didn't even know he won it all so it's not unprepared but that's just my opinions.

In my humble opinion both guys should be sent packing.  Both guys are primarily kick returners and to their credit, both guys gave the Bills a lift one game each over the last two seasons.  However, one game each isn't worthy 4-5 million.  Harty gave us last year 15 catches for 150 yards and 1 TD.  We can replace that production from a practice squad player.  Hines gave us mostly receiving yards with 30 catches for 241 and 1 TD (plus 33 yards rushing on 24 attempts - awful).  Again this is easily replaced production.  Ty Johnson gave us nearly 200 yards from scrimmage in 10 games as a 3rd stringer for 1/5 the cost.

The only reason I think they’ll bring Hines back is our lack of backs in the organization that know the offense.  Re-sign Johnson as the power back and re-sign Hines as the speed back & kick returner (depending on his knee) at a greatly reduced cap hit and Beane will call it a day.  Draft 2 WRs, one early and one late to go with Diggs, Shakir and maybe Shorter.

Don't quote me on this but I could have sworn i heard that Hines will be back next year, he filed something with his lawyer stating he wouldn't come after the Bills for money (I believe a greivance or something along those lines were filed since he was injured)  that the Bills can't just cut him outright but he'll be given a chance to make the team in training camp, whther they cut him after that is their right or not so he will be given a chance to still make the team.

But I don’t see the chiefs tearing down there DL every year due to these one year contracts they love so much.

No they just had I think 12 rookies either this year or last starting for them when Mahomes contract hit.

How can we keep having to reload the DL every year? Are the one year contracts that beane loves so much hurting us? It seem every year we have to keep retooling the DL because every year we lose so many lineman?

When you start paying your talent and have a franchise QB, this is what you have to do.

Just posting some facts here in hopes of generating some DL offseason discussion.  Lots of players UFA, and I think that Von Miller is done as well, being on the wrong side of 30, personal issues, injuries etc.  Not the same player.

    UDFA DT, ED, Edge:

Rank the below players as PAYDAY players, WALK players (let 'em move on), Take it or Leave it offers (minimums), and RETAIN if possible players (competitive offer but may lose 'em)

    DT Daquon Jones

    DE Leonard Floyd

    DT Jordan Philips

    DT Tim Settle

    DE AJ Epenesa

    DE Shaq Lawson

    DT Poona Ford

    DT Linval Joseph

    OLD (and other issues)
    EDGE Von Miller

That's a LOT of contracts to consider this offseason.  What stands out the most for me is whether we PAYDAY Daquon Jones, and DE AJ Epenesa?  I think that we WALK Leonard Floyd or give him a Take it or Leave it offer.

I believe I'd re-sign Shaq Lawson, Jordan Phillips and Poona Ford on the cheap. I'd also try and get Leonard Floyd back on a 1 year deal. I'd let all the rest walk, AJ Epenesa had 6.5 sacks and I really like Daquan Jones but at his age and the price tag that he's about to get just wont be worth it.

I think a lot of fans are actually the opposite of you which is why this is harder than 13 seconds. I think most of us came out of 13 seconds with a lot of hope. Sure, we lost in horrific fashion but Allen emerged as a truly elite player. The Bills were the talk of the town in many respect. We expected to be the Super Bowl champs the next year. I mean really expected it. So it was a little bit easier to dust yourself off and see the bright side.

With this loss I don't know where we go from here. We have earned the reputation for not closing in the postseason which is especially bad because it makes you question the validity of the 17 games you watch to get to that point. So next year if we field a top 5 defense how many think it will actually carry over? I will be hesitant to say the least. Then as you point out we had so much opportunity this year. Next year we likely have to contend with Stroud, possibly even Herbert, Burrow will be back, KC likely spends on some resources for Mahomes. So yes, for me this one is much harder mostly because it's harder to find the positive. It will come, just not yet.

Positives can also come in the form of health, it's not an excuse but a healthy Milano, healthy Tre and maybe at least an upgraded version of Von Miller compared to the non factor we saw all year could definitely be a plus. I'm not sure if Tre will ever be the same player but imagine if Tre came back and paired with Douglas, man that would be awesome. Again who knows how it all turns out but I know it's something I'm looking forward to next year!
