  1. This kind of hypothetical is really stupid. Really stupid
  2. Why do you insist on drawing these lines in the sand? I potentially want Taylor here and potentially to start. Do you know who our QB is going to be? I don't. I'll tell you this, the more I hear about this Josh Allen kid, the more it scares me because he really just sounds like EJ 2.0. If he is, we probably will and should do what we did not do with EJ, even though that seemed to be the plan if not for a fall on a mat. If we trade up in the draft for a QB, I expect that shiny new rookie to start day one. Another factor in this is that 0BD does not know what's going to unfold in the draft. If they plan on drafting a rocky, I think it makes it that much more likely that Taylor is still in a bills uniform simply because he has to be cut by the fourth day of the new lead year or if he is owed a bonus which we will not get back. If the plan is to go out and get a bet QB like Cousins, obviously Taylor would be cut or traded at best somehow. What I think is likely to happen is that Taylor remains on the roster all the way up until the draft and then 0BD uses him as part of a draft package to try to trade up for Darnold/Rosen/Mayfield. From the little I know, if it's any of those three QBs, I 100% would love to start him on day one, even though Darnold sounds like he might need some time to learn. But if it's a guy like Allen or Jackson (and again, I really don't watch college football so I'm just throwing names out based on what I have heard and a little I have seen), then I'm going to guess they're going to need some time on the bench to learn, in which case I think there's a really good chance Taylor will still be here taking snaps and Week 1.
  3. Baker Mayfield is the guy I'm really starting to want badly. Alas, I don't know if he's a McBeane type of guy
  4. Bengals. I think they have a good shot. Division game. Marvin Lewis's last game against the team he made his name with. Win one for the gipper!
  5. What??? Against it? Why are you assuming I'm against it?
  6. Literally never watched Allen play but he sounds like EJ 2.0. Too much "potential," not enough production. Mayfield has been uber successful in college and is a serious competitor. If the coaches can channel that he sounds like a Buffalo guy to me. Out of all the prospects, Rosen sounds the least like a Buffalo guy. Not that I watch college ball
  7. He actually used the words "Taylor was Elite" in that instance or was it more like "his numbers were borderline elite with those guys," because there's a difference.
  8. Bwahahahahaha!!!! Unreal the way some people isolate everything else that the other 52 men on the roster and the coaches do well from all their shortcomings for the purpose of isolating all of Tyrod Taylor's shortcomings from everything he does well.
  9. Yes, people are stupid. Before the season I posted basically a "why not us?" playoff thread and I got plenty "have you seen the roster?!?!" responses. I think people just feel like it's a requirement to overreact on the Internet since it's such an anonymous form of speech. Lots of paper tigers who crawl into holes when they're clearly wrong. I want a Franchise QB found in the offseason. If it's a vet like Kirk Cousins, which would not be my choice, then no, of course I don't want him back. But if it is a drafted rookie, we are going to need three QBs on this roster. And depending on who that rookie is and where we acquire him, we are probably going to need a QB who starts in game one, and that might be Taylor, who is under a contract that expires at the end of next year. Who argues Taylor's Elite??? Do you? A spectacular post
  10. Well what you're arguing doesn't matter, does it? We already know we're going to replace Taylor. Yet, as it is... Despite missing what translates to a full NFL game, he's still responsible for 54% of the offensive snaps, 61% of the offense's total yards, 58% of the offense's total 1st downs...and 65% of the offensive TDs. We have the 8th worst defense by yards, 3rd worst run defense, and we're 18th in points given up per game. Yes we have an opportunistic defense, but even there we're tied for 8th in takeaways. Yet somehow, despite a 5 interception half by Not Ready Nate, we're still 6th in our turnover differential and go into week 17 with a legitimate shot at the playoffs for the first time in 12-13 years. Yeah, sorry to inform you, but Tyrod Taylor has been an important part to this team getting to this point this year. Maybe you weirdos will get your wish and this next game will be the very last game that you have to root for him. Or maybe, just maybe we make it into the playoffs for the first time this millennium and you have to keep rooting for Taylor and give him just a little bit of credit. Like I said, we can start searching for our new QB as soon as the season is done, but it's not
  11. I can't believe you guys care about arguing this at this point. Is there a single poster who thinks we aren't inevitably hunting for a future Franchise QB this offseason? If this year isn't Tyrod's last year in Buffalo, next year will be. The OP is just massively over compensating here, though. Tyrod is not bad, unless your definition of "bad" is a QB who can fall anywhere in the 15-25 range as an NFL starter depending on the situation but is simply not a top 10 Franchise QB. If that's what that Big Dingus means by "bad," then sure. But what's the point? Upset that we're sniffing the playoffs with Taylor at the helm when half of you who are currently piling it on are on record that we would NEVER make the playoffs with Tyrod Taylor as our QB? Does it really upset that we're this close to the playoffs and that part of that actually is because of Tyrod Taylor's play, despite all these preemptive efforts by the OP to argue otherwise and how adamantly some of you are trying to deny that simple fact? Don't worry guys, if we make the playoffs, Taylor can get some credit for being the first Bills QB to lead the team to the playoffs since 1999 AND we can still eagerly and thoroughly discuss who we'll draft or acquire this offseason as our future Franchise QB to replace him will be
  12. Whatever you say Ryan L Bills or Maury Baulstein or AiritoutFitzy or Teddy KGB or whatever your next moniker will be
  13. Stop trolling says the guy who just changed his username for the 4th time in 9 months.
  14. And yet we're alive for a playoff spot in week 17 for the first time since... what...? 2004? Go figure
  15. I think it would be an added benefit for him, yes.
  16. Hell no... then they sucked me in with that first half. Then we had that TD taken away from us and it just seemed like all the air went out of the balloon. But deep down I knew that would happen.
  17. Agreed. Number one goal at the moment is win at any cost in Miami and hope the chips fall. Get that goddamn monkey off our backs!
  18. I think I'm on board with Mayfield from the little I've known/seen. The guy just seems like a crazy competitor and you just can't argue with his kind of success. Plus he's probably attainable being the 3rd likely QB drafted. Wonder how tall he actually is.
  19. Some of this was tongue in cheek. That was one of them. I guess the Gaines one was the only obvious one interpretively. Regardless, Merry Christmas!
  20. I can see we're really in the Christmas spirit!!! Merry Christmas to all!!!
  21. - If you make the playoffs in whatever scenarios you need to play out in week 17, play to win the games you are playing in, please. But once the season is over... - find a Franchise QB at any cost. Whether through draft, FA or trade, make absolutely sure you get him. - fix the OL. - fix the OL before you put your Franchise QB out on the field if he's a rookie for sure. - If we aren't starting our future Franchise QB in 2018, make damn well sure you have a QB on the roster you're confident you can win with NOW. - Cut Mike Tolbert. - If Kyle wants to come back for one more year, you should probably let him. But if you're absolutely sure you don't want him next year, part amicably. Don't do what Whaley did to Freddy. - Stop clapping so much. - Add some meaty talent to the DL to fix the run D and boost our pass rush. - Find another playmaker at LB like Milano. - Stop punting in situations you should obviously go for it. - Stop going for it in situations you should obviously punt or kick a FG. - Give Shady a 1-2 year extension. - Wrap EJ Gaines in bubble wrap right up until game time every game. - Keep building for the future, but WIN NOW!!! Anything else??? Merry Christmas and Happy New year everyone!!!
  22. He plays well against the Dolphins, though. I think we're gonna win next week. I'm just hoping the Bengals players try to get a W for Marvin Lewis in the stadium where he originally made his name. This will inevitably be an offseason discussion if this is what plays out
  23. Hey guys, instead of bickering for no reason on Christmas Eve let's go enjoy our holiday knowing we're still alive for a playoff spot. Bills just need to win next week... which I think a lot of us expect... and then just hope Cincy tries to "win one for the gipper" against Baltimore, who looks very beatable. Of course, we can also hope for a Chargers loss (division game against the Raiders) and a Titans loss, but seeing the Jags lose today I don't know if they'll be playing for much. Regardless, you only have to suffer one more regular season game with TT as QB before the team dives headfirst into the Franchise QB hunt this offseason. When did we last have a meaningful week 17 game? Try enjoying it. Merry Christmas all!!!
  24. Merry Christmas everyone!!!I scratch my head on 3 different things from this game:The refs absolutely screwing us out a TD.McDermott going for it on 4th and 1 in sure fire FG territory and not going for it later in the game down by 7 and instead opting for a 50 yard FG.Any time we EVER choose to hand the ball off to Tolbert.
