The Bills will seriously consider carrying 2 punters.   Not a serious team.

They've never carried two punters.  They have eaten dead money though if a player wins the competition in training camp (Morris over OJ Howard).  It's possible Haack beats out Martin.

And to that end, what sense does doing it after 6/1 make? The Draft is over. Free Agency is bare bones. We save the same amount moving on from him after the season as we would after 6/1. You're essentially paying him to not be here for no gain.

Makes way more sense to have him here for the season and if you need to move on from him, you do it before the start of Free Agency next year.

Unless you get a trade offer for him that made sense both short and long term.

We're talking about giving up a sixth round pick and the Bills have more late-round picks than they could possibly roster, so I don't think that's much of an impediment.

If we didn't give Trubisky $2.7m guaranteed they may have inquired about Fields.  He'll count $2m towards the cap this year and we'll eat $1.5m if we cut him.  This team cap wise isn't in a position to commit at what minimum would've been a $4.7m cap space to the backup QB position (assuming Trubisky was cut).

Only thing I'll say about the latest Diggs controversy is I don't expect the Bills to offload him this year, but I also don't think he is in their long term plans. Beane had a chance to save $13.1M off the cap this year with a simple restructure of his contract. He chose not to touch it. IMO that spells the beginning of the end.

Do you think it's an age concern or off the field stuff (or both)?  I think they didn't restructured White's contract last off-season because of concern about his ACL if I remember correctly.

This guy, who calls himself a "Dolphins Beat Reported," insinuates that Beane himself said that. I highly doubt that.

Well I guess if it's reported on twitter by unserious people trying to stir up the pot it could lead to one saying, "when there's smoke, there's fire."

Wonder how much trouble the two teams would get in if they did an unequal pick swap(for example: Bills trade a 2nd and 4th to team X for their 1st and 3rd) during the draft with a handshake agreement that they would trade Diggs to team X after June 1 with a swap of 7th round picks.

Beane should do this and then renig on the trade.  Then even I'd call him a "wizard."

    only by a few million

They'd save $38m more in cap space over three years if they trade him after June 1st.  They'd have to get one heck of an offer before the draft for them to give that up and his stock is pretty low right now.

Not sure how this works but can they trade him prior to Sunday and still designate it a Post June 1st trade?  Otherwise they can't move the guy.

No they can't.  The post June 1st designation can only be applied to players that are cut.

People keep saying this but I don't see it. John Brown has career YPC 14.9 and had similar number while in Buffalo. Samuel has 10.7 and it was even less last two years.

I am not an expert but it clearly seems that he won't play John Brown's role unless we use him differently than he was used before.

He has the athleticism and physical profile of John Brown and the first seven years of production similar to Cole Beasley's.  He's not like either of those players as far as I can tell.  A poor man's Deebo Samuel?  At least that's the way Brady used him in Carolina.  It'll be interesting to see how he fits into this offense because it has me scratching my head.

I did find it peculiar within 15 minutes of the Morse release, they made it clearly known to beat reporters that McGovern would be moving to center

My guess is it was mostly PR.  It was meant to soften the blow of the Morse release and the Bates trade to fans.  Along with avoiding future questions from reporters about wtf they were thinking.  Plus, Edwards was just signed and about to have a zoom press conference so he could say that he's going to be the starter.

  11. I heard rumors that Beane wasn't even talking to his agent so I'm a little surprised by this as all I kept hearing was younger and cheaper.  Pleasantly surprised and I hope he returns to form.  I always get squeamish when signing non qb's past the age of 30.

Putting Josh’s cap hit at 60M next season, which means he’s gonna get a new extension next summer which will make him the 2nd highest paid player in the sport

Starting to hope all playoff games go to different ready to dish out big money streaming platforms so the salary cap keeps skyrocketing every year.  LOL.  Sure I'll watch a Wednesday night WC game exclusively on Pluto TV.

gave it his all, sacrificed family events, very good at his job, did the dirty work, many years of loyal service! He was laid off from my company last week after 25 yrs. Same happens everyday and nobody blows nks

And those close to that person feel empathy for them.  Fans get close to players over the years and it's natural to feel empathy for them as well.
