  1. No chance of Cle going a different way, outside of a massive trade. Just my opinion, but he’s Andrew Luck to them and rightfully so.
  2. You hit the proverbial nail! We don’t fully understand TAU and it’s impact on the brain. They’re just beginning to see the correlation between neurological brain mapping and CTE, which otherwise could only be detected post-mortem. His effects, to hear him tell it, was like a bad and confusing hang over that just seemed to get worse and worse. It’s too easy to ridicule the guy as a player, but much harder to see the human side of it. It’s just sad. He’s an immensely likeable guy.
  3. It’s not a terrible idea, to move down, it’s just wildly unpopular, with the QB talent at the forefront and that arguably being the biggest need. If you can’t secure one of the big 4 though and the prototypical LB or WR is gone, definitely trade down. Agreed!
  4. I need you to know just how much you complete me. You, big guy.
  5. Is that you in the stonewashed jorts? I think I see you!!!! It’s me!!!! I’m right here!!!!! TURN AROUND, JAYSOOOOOON!!!!!!!! ”waving from GA”
  6. Most of my day 1 are on defense, but I’m speaking collectively about what I’m hearing from others. The consensus seems to be that this is an outstanding draft, especially for teams needing Defense, QB or RB. There’s always going to be disagreement, but should be a good one!
  7. I think you have it well-pegged outside of WR being woeful. I also think this is a very solid TE group. The DL group is just unreal; best I’ve seen in years. This is not the draft to draft one of these guys so high because the difference in them is so negligible. I’m high on this DB class, maybe more than most because of how many quality CB/S transitional players will be available. RB is similar to APs draft. 2-3 elite guys and 10-13 solid potential starters. I think this WR class is going to shock people. I really do!!!
  8. Interesting. I’m at the very opposite end of the spectrum. That’s what makes the draft special!
  9. Quick... name a place that was nice to any of the people you listed.... Being mean and being a Bills fan are two very different things. Buffalo has a league-wide reputation for being a QB purgatory. The fan base is passionate beyond reason and if further proof is needed, feel free to re-read this thread particularly and see how some fans reacted to Trent Edwards currently suffering from Brain Damage he tried to play through. It’s a cruel world we live in, but it’s just a little crueler, if you’re a young QB, coming to Buffalo. Don’t agree? No worries. But what you’re trying to argue doesn’t, in my mind, follow anything I’ve stated as the thread title would indicate as our topic.
  10. Because he has bad hip differentiation, it’s his accuracy that take a hit. He doesn’t drive the ball with anything but his ridiculous shoulder power, which just can’t get it done in the pros. He drove his hip much better at the combine and afterwards, but again, no rush. The knock on a guy that’s always gotten buy from his pure talent, is it’s hard for them to develop beyond what they are accustomed to, when placed into a pressurized situation. It’s instinctgul and becomes cumulative once they start getting hit. Allen is that guy, to me.
  11. Agreed! Gives the organization a chance to see what they have in their other two guys, while Jackson develops.
  12. Oh, I was too! I didn’t know then what I know now, about CTE. I really thought the Bills had found their guy. But then everything crumbled, he was vilified and the divorce was ugly. Pretty much status quo for a lot of the guys that come here to play QB. It’s tough. That’s why as much as I love Rosen and see the fit, the QB that the Bills take has to have the mental toughness like Kelly.
  13. Yep, Allen is the name being floated. I don’t buy it though. I think it’s Rosen or Jackson. Rosen if they can trade and Jackson if they can’t. I’m probably wrong though.
  14. Yep. You said it. NYC chose Manning over Mac. Houston loves their promising rookie and the Bears fans are eager to see Mitch’s development from his rookie year. Good on you for labeling them as “sucky”. You are absolutely exempt from that whole “brutal fan” thing. Yep.
  15. It’s a very questionable test that scouts have asked to be removed. It’s radar driven and does not account for in-game velocity, which is why “timing” QBs like Goff can show much better than effortless throwers like Jackson. 12 gauge probably has the NFLs strongest arm and he opted out of the drill, entirely. He listed an injury, but this is not an uncommon thing for QBs to hate. It’s just so inaccurate. I wish they would do something similar to the old Pro Bowl (who can throw from their knees best) test. A rhythm passer knows when to swing his hip for addded velocity (Brees, Brady.). An effortless thrower... not so much. True arm strength can only be measured without hip inclusion in my opinion
  16. I hear ya. The hardest part about Trent Edwards is hearing him describe how much he loved Buffalo. He came back early from the concussion, even though he knew better and the fans just destroyed him. I know there are a lot of perspectives out there and each needs to be respected (unless they are just emotional tirades), but his situation today, sucks. I wish him well.
  17. The fans. I wish our fan base could hear how terrified young QB prospects are to come here. We have a propensity to be just brutal.
  18. I think he’s fine, arm strength wise. But I don’t think he has even close to Jackson’s velocity. I don’t think this is the best representation.
  19. Love the article, but we’ll Agree to disagree. My opinion is he developed him to fit his program. He left a lot on the table for future development. We haven’t even scratched the surface of what this kid can do. I mean no disrespect to Coach P, either, because it’s so easy for me to critique the job he did, from my office, without putting in any effort outside of a key stroke, but I would have loved to see him a bit more developed, mechanically. We’ll see though. I’m very high on him as a developmental project.
  20. I want to clarify... my opinion is he’ll be closer to Bortles than Elway, but my hope is he’s Wentz. I’ve watched ridiculous amounts of him. His mechanics are going to take serious time to develop. He’ll be annihilated by this fan base, too. I don’t think Buffalo is his best fit. Denver... all day! NYJ, yikes! But I like him, I just would not trade up to pick him. He scares me more than any other prospect, just because he’s projected in the top 5.
  21. Oh I agree totally! I’m interested in the reasoning that’s presented, myself, but I’m also a realist in that I kinda know where people will take this.
  22. Yes there is. And it’s a shame, because he’s actually a talented football player that they seem very high on.
