  1. I've said since his rookie year, the dude is gonna knock your socks off with some plays and make you scratch your head a bit on some others. It's who he is. If anything, I feel like maybe the dude overthinks a bit. All this "low positive" stuff and always trying to maintain a balanced mood over the games. I dunno, I get it, but I kinda miss that dude who was always chirping on the sidelines and getting his guys amped up. Not that he doesn't do that, just seems to be less of it.

Whoever in this thread said they need to cut loose and have fun had it right.

He's another example of Beane not hitting on his first or second round picks.

That same year Miami took Jaelen Phillips. His impact is much greater.

I dont know the issue overall but there are too many DEs on this roster making a lot of money to not impact the QB more. Last night was a perfect example. The fact we are having to blitz as often as we are says alot about where this group is at.

Phillips hasn't had much more of an impact over Groot. Both have missed time with injuries but as it stands right meow Groot has more sacks this season while having 15 for his career and Phillips with 19. Miami fans been waiting for that guy to turn the corner as well but it hasn't happened yet.

  3. I've been fartin' around on Bills forums since like 2002. Always just liked discussing the team and the sport in general.

These days I tend to keep in mind that this stuff is supposed to be fun. No doubt I still get all the feels during games and stuff, and I'm not ignorant to issues the team may have. I just prefer not to really dwell on that stuff too much. When they lose it's a bummer, I don't need to keep it bummin' the whole week talking about why and what they gotta do and this and that.

I'm really just indifferent to a lot of the negativity and real ridiculous criticisms and the kneejerk reactions, etc. So when like more than half the board blows up after a loss and it's just all blaaarrgh I tend to avoid it for a bit.

There are a number of posters that seem like-minded to how I perceive things so I tend to gravitate towards reading and engaging with them. Some folks are pretty funny. I try to throw in some stupid dumb humor curve balls where I can. It's hit and miss haha.

Like I said above, it's supposed to be fun. If fun for some folks is nitpicking the crap out of everything then I guess that's their thing ..weird, but you do you and all that. I used to get real uptight about this stuff too but the older I've gotten the more ways I've found to enjoy it and not get wrapped up in the bummer stuff or letting a loss affect my whole day or week. I guess there are different levels of passion for your home team. I try to keep it fun and level.

I said all offseason that AJE was better than people thought and would start on plenty of other teams.  Now he is proving it on the field.  I am hoping we find a way to keep him at a deal that isn't crazy.  Each impact game though that price tag is going up.

The scouting reports I saw on him all had similar things to say about how he would need some time to develop. The consensus seemed to be, "give him a couple years and he'll be a solid player."

  5. I dunno how long some of y'all been watching this team but I've seen much uglier wins.

Nobody wants to admit that the Giants defense came out and had a solid game. They have a legit DL and they appear to have a pair of young linebackers on their way up.

The two drives that ended in turnovers, the offense was clicking. Gabe gets the ball knocked out on a good play from the defender. The ball nearly rolled out of bounds as well. It bounced for the Giants. Sometimes that's the game. Then later on, another good looking drive gets ended with the tip drill INT. Again, all you can really do is say hey, hats off to the Giants, they made a good play.

At the end of the day, the Bills put together what, a 16 play drive that ate up nearly 10 minutes and ended in the go-ahead TD? They then closed in to field goal range twice (technically three times, that early punt selection from McDermott was kind of a wuss call) but Bass uncharacteristically pushed both kicks wide. Again...stuff happens.

And I don't think it can be understated the effect Daboll had on the game. Dude knows Josh better than anyone, knows what makes him tick, knows the things he struggles with... they mixed up their defenses quite a bit and uh, yeah... it happens.

It's like, if this team isn't winning 63-0 every week then half of y'all are unhappy about it. I've said it for a while now but the expectations on this team are sometimes a bit nuts.

A win is a friggin' win. They don't come easy and they don't all come pretty. I've sat through some of the crappiest football you could imagine during the drought. Oldheads around here suffered through some awful seasons in the 70s and 80s. Sometimes I wonder if some of youse never went through those times or just don't wanna remember it. After watching yearly crap-shows from 2000 to 2017, I ain't about to complain too much about a team that has put up insane numbers, made it to and won playoff games, has found their franchise QB, has made the right moves to acquire talent to put around that QB, consistently fields a top five defense almost every season despite missing four major starters right now. If all of that plus a victory ("but not the type of victory I wanted or expected!!!") somehow bums you out then I really don't know what to tell youse guys.

Could they have played better? Sure. I can't say I was too thrilled to see a shotgun formation on 2nd and goal from inside the one. You just kinda wanna yell at Ken, hey man, it does not have to be that complicated. You're half a yard away with a flippin' monster man at QB. I know they're working super hard to protect him this year but he's the guy, sneak the friggin' thing.

And I dunno when everyone is gonna learn that these teams at the bottom are almost always gonna ante up to play a contender like the Bills. I'm certain those guys are tired of losing and being embarrassed. I'm sure they had a little extra juice this week wanting to get a win for their coach over his old team, or even score a win for their backup QB over one of his old teams. Nobody should've expected them to roll over. You've got a buncha guys out there who rarely get opportunities, they're gonna play hard. They aren't just gonna step aside and be like, "Oh are you Josh Allen and the Bills? Please, right this way into our end zone. Visit as many times as you'd like!" Bah.

He also didn’t come up with a crucial catch in OT against NYJ.  Just not a reliable player.

That was poor ball security by Davis.  Why did he have the ball In his left (inside) arm?

I dunno. Track him down, start an investigation.

Orr...sometimes the other team just makes a good play and that's that. Ball looked pretty secure to me. Giants defender just landed a solid punch right on it and out it came. It was also a foot away from rolling out of bounds. Them's just the breaks sometimes.

It's just kind of... peculiar how so many fans believe any negative play that happens to the Bills is somehow their own fault and their own doing...instead of just realizing that sometimes the other team makes a good play and has a bounce go their way. That's the game.

  7. Meh. I really don't know what to tell this "awful win" crowd. There aren't any easy outs in the NFL, a win is a win.

I know half of youse expected 63-0 but even though they're 1-4 going into that game, the Giants weren't just gonna roll over. Teams in those positions usually always knuckle up to play contenders. They wanna make a statement. They're not just gonna roll over and that DL is legit.

And I don't think it can be understated how much of an effect Daboll had. He knows exactly what makes Josh tick and what throws him off.

The two drives that ended in turnovers, the offense was moving and in a groove. Giants make a good play to punch the ball out on Gabe, and then later they get the tip drill INT. That's the game sometimes.

A win is a win. I'm sure they aren't fully satisfied with their performance but I'm not gonna sit here and whine about a victory.

And let's kinda hear it for McDermott and the defense. Down four major starters and they hold them to nine points. Can't ask for much more.

Also, the refs really tried to steal the show. Guess we were due for that kinda game.

My only real gripe is, I wasn't exactly thrilled seeing a shotgun formation on 2nd and goal inside the one. C'mon man. It doesn't have to be that complicated. Ken will give you a head scratcher like that then he'll scheme up and call that great play to Harty for the TD.

One mo' time, a win is a win.

  8. Son of a b! Frick! Goll-ee! Gosh durnit! Darn!

I recently subscribed to the Kirk Cousins/Philip Rivers School of Vulgarity Alternatives. How am I doing?

For real tho, bummer and a half. Milano being out changes the defense a lot. He's so versatile and instinctive and they trust him to handle a lot. And well.... Tyrel Dodson and Dorian Williams aren't those guys so...

And I dunno if they have anyone that can quite do what Jones has been doing this season.

It'll be interesting to see what they do to adjust. I'mma go kick rocks.

  9. I haven't seen anything yet. If it is a torn pec that's like a six month minimum recovery so that'd be the season for him. I base this off a couple of pro wrestlers who tore their pec recently. Cody Rhodes was out from like April 2022 to January 2023 (he actually finished his recovery ahead of schedule.) Another guy, Danhausen, tore his in March and only as of last week has it been stated that he'll be returning soon.

Friggin bummer. Kinda felt like the Bengals playoff loss. I mean, Timmy Settle seems like a great team guy but when he has to go spell Daquan for an extended set of snaps the results aren't great.

I dunno. They can mix it up at DT though. Groot can line up there, they'll get Poona rolling again I'm sure. I think Shaq could take some snaps there if needed. I'm thinking maybe they'll get creative in trying to replace him but who knows.

  10. It's a bummer for sure but try not to let it ruin your whole day ya know?

I know we Bills fans are passionate and we want our team to mollywhop everyone but that's not always how it goes.

It can be easy to forget how good we've had it since 2019 when you look back at some of the more dismal eras in Bills history. It's hard for me to complain about the team given how awesome they've been. Sucks to lose in the playoffs but, I dunno, people who have specific expectations for the team that go unmet and reacting to that by wanting to dismantle the team in all sorts of areas. Something about that feels entitled to me, I guess.

I used to get pretty wrapped up in it. But sy a certain point the emotions shift. I still get into the games and feel the nerves and anxiety. But when a bummer game happens, I'm not longer pissed off for the rest of the day. I used to get loud and animated. None of that anymore. I dunno if it's like a big picture type of perspective but yeah, just taking it easy and accepting whatever happens makes the losses less poopy.

Also one time I got so pissed I punched a hole in my brand new guitar case and 15 years later I still feel like an a-hole about it haha. It's nice to be able to relax and still enjoy the team.

  11. Frickin' injury bummers all over the league today. Aaron Donald went out, Kelce was out but went back in, Anthony Richardson messed up his shoulder. Matt Milano was ruthlessly attacked by Jack the Kneecapper and London is frickin' stupid! I'm sure I'm missing some others but yeah, it's lame.

I don't think the loss was horrid or anything, circumstances and all that. Be interesting to see how the adjust with so many guys out now.
