Jackson is a tough one. He and the ravens got royaly screwed on injuries this year. Jackson is dangerous when the ravens run game is dangerous. Run, run, play action to Andrew's across the middle, rinse repeat. But the ravens run game was desolated by injuries and you saw what happened to Jackson's game.

Jackson will never win a championship with his arm alone like josh showed he could do in the playoffs. But if the ravens got back to a superior defense and superior run game and let Jackson burn defenses with his legs then the ravens are easily a playoff team.

I think the ravens believe if they surround Jackson and let him make special plays with his legs they could win a super bowl, therefore I think they give him a contract just under Allen.

His danger of running is incredible but I also think his arm can be there and deadly when called upon or when the games get funky/chaotic and the ravens just let him throw.

Lamar is the same QB who went

    37-43 86% 442yards 4 TD / 62 Rushing Yards and 16 point 4th QT comeback against the Colts.

My Tartt rejoinder is that Stafford was one butterfinger from throwing away the NFCCG.

I lack faith that he won't do likewise in the SuperBowl.  Whereas Burrow seems able to "take a lickin' and keep on tickin'"

Stafford will always have a little bit of that Detroit Lion in him.

The only question is will it come out on Super Bowl Sunday.

To the bolded parts of your response....You should've stopped before bringing up the results on the field. Lamar is one of those QBs that plays pretty well during the regular season, sometomes great, but struggles mightily in the playoffs. To date he's gone 1-3 in the 4 playoff games he's started in and his team struggles to score in the postseason averaging 13 points per game.

His stats during the postseason: 76/136  55.8 Comp%  900 Yards 6.1 YPA  225.0 YPG  3 TDs  5 INTs  with a QB Rating of 68.26. He also takes alot of sacks for being the most mobile QB in the league, in 4 games he's been sacked 19 times. He's a good runner so I'll add those stats as well: 54/367/1 averaging 6.8 YPC and 91.75 YPG. All that to really show he doesn't put points on the board in the postseason and he's accounted for 4 total TDs in 4 games.

So in your opinion you think Lamar should make about what Josh makes? Josh had more TDs(5) and his team scored almost as many points(47) against the Pats*** this year in the playoffs as Lamar(4) and the Ravens(52) have in their 4 games combined. Josh now has 16 total TDs in 6 postseason games(2.6 per game) 14 passing, 1 Rushing, 1 Receiving & only 1 INT. He has the highest career QB Rating in the playoffs ever, the most Passing TDs through the first 2 rounds(9) and is the only QB to post back to back games with at least 4 TDs and 0 INTs. The Bills average 28.6 points a game with Josh at QB in the postseason. He's performed far better than Lamar when it matters the most and most would agree that on average during their 4 year careers the Ravens had more talent on their team.

To the other bolded part....The Ravens don't go to the top of the potential Suoer Bowl contenders until he starts bringing his game to another level come playoff time, not shrinking AND the team proves it can put points on the board and win some games come postseason. If I'm the Ravens there's no way I could look at the 2 QBs and then think I'm going to pay him Josh Allen type money. I'd rather trade him for a bunch of picks and start over at QB.

I would definitely pay Lamar in the ballpark of Allen.

I can’t just decide a player‘s contract based on the playoffs I have to factor in the entire picture.

If that was the case then I’m paying Josh Allen $258 Million to to be a .500 quarterback in the playoffs.

Its more than just playoff performance.  It’s for the whole package both on and off the field.

Its for the League MVP…it’s for the dynamic plays … it’s for the 41-17 Overall Record…it’s for the moments when Lamar makes the call on 4th down to go for it and beat Mahomes.

And it’s for the projection of what He will develop into and the team will be when healthy.

  4. Lamar is a transcendent athlete at QB I no the NFL.  Not sure there is a price tag you can put on what he means and his worth to the Baltimore Ravens, The NFL, The Baltimore Community, Premier Face of Young Black Athletes, Fellow Players and Opponents.

there’s just a “it factor “ with Lamar.  You got opposing players on often do you have opposing players on defense simply running across the field to talk to him to hang out with him pre-and post game it’s incredible.

Not sure you see a player get more love or respect from their opponents as Lamar gets from the opposition.

Then we haven’t even gotten to the results on the field.

No Brainer you pay.  And maybe the football gods let the Ravens stay healthy in 2022.

Those 2 things happen then they go right to the top of potential Super Bowl Contenders.

  5. This is sort of a side note.

But it is annoying me that in every story about Flores…they mention he finished the 2021 season winning 7 of final 8.

As a Buffalo SABRES fan…we all know the worthlessness of ‘Historic Runs to 8th Place’.

there were HIGH expectations in Miami for 2021.  Maybe not Division Winning, but expectations to be what the Patriots ended up doing with a ROOKIE QB.

And when you start off 1-7…sorry.  But anything you do after that … after the pressure has come off…I see as frivolous.

No more historic runs to 8th.

  6. Personally rooting for McDaniel to get a HC Job.

This league needs people like him who can separate life/death from a game you get paid to play that is really just unscripted reality show.

McDaniel takes his job uber seriously.  But at least he can present himself in an authentic way that is unique and sets him apart from the Uber serious alpha males who treat this so seriously they are unwilling to answer simple questions.

basically I’m sort of done/bored with old school football coach saying nothing.  Lol!

I'm laughing at the "became labeled as someone difficult to work with" claim.

If Ross did this he's for sure trash

However I always hated Flores and thought he was a product of the media.  This just confirms I think he's a piece of garbage burning everything on his way out.

He's been thinking about this since they were 1-5

Flores might have legit cause.  And be right.

But some of the claims, with I question how he would prove some of it (like the Broncos Brass being hung over) read like an overreach to me.

and once you start overreaching…it calls into question/doubt your entire argument.

  8. It’s a job, a business, a place of employment.

of course there are number of folks over there who don’t completely agree with McDermott or think he isn’t doing enough or doing more or they could do it better.

you see them for 3 hours a week.  The rest of the time who knows what happens.

  9. Mike McDaniels is incredible.  Gives all us sub 6ft 200 pound hipsters with cool glasses, NFL fans a hero to root for.

The dude knows his x’s and o’s.  What he did with Debo is short of genius.

and right now the Mike Shanahan Coaching Tree extending with

kyle Shanahan, Matt LeFleur, Sean McVay, Zac Taylor and now Mike McDaniel … you could do A-LOT WORSE.

And his personality is just desperately needed in this sport right now.

  10. NFC North

I think you automatically slot in wins against VIKINGS (Home) and LIONS (Away)

    After that…we will see.

Should Rodgers and Adams stay with Packers I see the Packers rolling the Bills.

When Packers v. Bills was a possible SB Matchup I went back and looked at AARON RODGERS v. LESLIE FRAIZER History.

To say Rodgers dominated Fraizer and his defense is…an understatement.

And for the Bears…it all hinges on Fields growth as a QB.  He has all the tools.  Could he be a young Josh Allen and given the Bills a run on a Thursday Night game in Chicago?  Possibly.

    I think right now it’s

    2 Wins

    1 Loss

    1 50/50

What an announcement.  All about the companies he's founded and his brand.  I admit, I wasn't thinking this would be the way it would happen.

Isn't this where most people would put in a word of thanks or appreciation to teammates and coaches for their help in his fantastic and prolonged career?

save it for the HOF Speech in 5 years and then when the Patriots have ‘Brady Night’ to retire his jersey #12.

There will be plenty of time to give those speeches and thanks both privately and publicly.

This would explain Tee Martin as his time with the Ravens involved a lot of off schedule pass plays.

    It did!  😂

And when the Ravens games got out of hand/off script is when Lamar shined brightest.

Some of these guys just thrive in chaos and limited structure.

  13. Sean Payton said it well.  ‘Mahomes and Allen are the best at off schedule plays.”

You need a OC who will continue to allow/encourage off schedule plays.

not all OCs are agreeable.  Some are “my system or the high way.” Or “I want the ball coming out at his exact moment and thrown to this exact spot.”

Not all OCs are giddy to dial up the QB Dive up the middle out of the spread formation.

You need an OC with a more modern philosophy and flexible personality and average ego.

This is a 20-20 hindsight award.

If the Bengals sat their starters in the final game and came out stale vs. the Titans and lost, we'd be hearing about how it's stupid to rest starters.

The Bengals looked pretty rusty in the first half where they only managed 3 points until just before the half.

If Mahomes hadn't had a meltdown and thrown 2 picks not to mention a fumble that cost them 17 yds down at the Cincy 5, we'd be hearing about how their players were stale from the week off and Belichick never rested his starters.

The Bills rested starters in the final week before Houston, and lost.

The Bills didn't rest starters until the game was out of hand vs. Miami, won 2 playoff games, and went to the AFCCG.

you might have heard that…but not from me and many others.

It shouldn’t be lost…that Burrow injured his knee on the final play of the game against the Chiefs in week 17.

So…the Bengals could have rushed Burrow into the game with the idea that they had to have the 2nd or 3rd Seed.

Many teams (and certain fan bases) would have felt it was necessary to have as many Home Playoff Games as possible.

The genesis of the decision to value health over location will always be the right decision.  Just like even if failing to convert a 4th down.  It was still the right call to go for it on 4th down.

  15. I agree!

I also thought (watching that browns/bengals game) it showed incredible forward thinking in that player health TRUMPS game location.

By sacrificing the 2nd/3rd Seed…and sitting players…they were effectively saying.

”home field is a myth.  We don’t care who we play or where, as long as we have or guys healthy.”

    Wonderful combination of Brains/Balls.
