Are people really that unhappy with our 4-2 Bills?
oldmanfan replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
Except of course the three blowouts this year when he was making good reads, getting the ball out quick, and spreading it around. Right? -

Your words, not mine. Except I think you meant mediocrity as medicity is not a word in the English language to my knowledge. -

I’m sorry. Does Josh not throw that ball well enough for you? Will he not continue to gain experience in things like reading defenses? The window with Josh is at least a decade. Hopefully taken care of this year. -

Everyone just wants mediocrity. No one wants a Lombardi. You nailed it. -

So Josh’s age is an issue, when people were clamoring about the Jets getting a 40 year old Rogers meant a championship for them? Please. I confess to losing it momentarily when they called yet another dumb delay out of the shotgun and posting to fire Dorsey. But rationality quickly resumed. The Bills are doing well offensively and defensively. They could do better on both sides of the ball but there is hardly need for doom and gloom. Will they win it all? Maybe but odds are long. Both because odds are always long, and because losing three All Pro caliber guys may be too much to overcome. But the fun of being a fan is to watch things and see what happens. -
They need to take that out of the playbook, burn it, and bury the ashes.

Nope. Look at the three blow outs. Josh took what was there, spread the ball around, Diggs still got his. And we wiped out the other teams.
-
Knox should have made the catch and Josh could have made a better throw. It doesn’t have to be either/or. We all love Josh but he’s not immune to critique. He was awful in the season opener for example. I think the offense really hums when Josh spreads the ball around some. He didn’t the first half Sunday, he did the second half. And we saw the results.

I was ready to kill Dorsey Sunday night. But we have a top 5 offense right now despite his odd play calls at times and despite Josh having brain freezes on occasion. So the question is who do you bring in that would do a better job? People always want to go where the grass is greener, but many more times than not when you do so the grass is brown.

IF Allen Tried to Force His Way Out of Buffalo...
oldmanfan replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
No help on the line. No help on the line. Dawkins is good, brought Morse in and he’s good. Drafted Torrence this year. Brought McGovern in-so far so good. Brown is a weak spot. I am a believer in building from the lines out, but to say Beane has done nothing is absurd. Too many folks in the Mafia think you can have All-Pro caliber guys at every position on the team despite a salary cap. And Allen won’t go anywhere anytime soon. He has at least 10 more good years in front of him. -
Where are you at this brand new “No running Josh” ?

Run when necessary, but slide. -
In retrospect, was letting McKenzie go a mistake?

Numbers suggest your narratives are wrong on the offense.

Thanks for posting this. It shows me that my theories on what's going on with the offense are misplaced. What I saw last night is that Josh just targeted Diggs in the first half and the offense stalled, but when he started spreading the ball around in the second half things improved. I still think that's what happened last night, but it's not happened all year. -
I hope this continues.
-
Watch this coming Sunday. Belicheat is going to take Diggs away; he does this every game, takes away the opponent's strength. will Dorsey adjust? Will Josh? I hope so but I have my doubts.

Got away with one there.

I was very critical of Allen in the first half, but he woke up and started playing like himself in the second half. Great throw to Morris. -

Take the delay out of shotgun formation out of the playbook. Burn it. Then bury it. How many times do you have to see that play fail? -

A second string O line just blew our guys away. Brilliant. -

Call a great series, Josh finally wakes up, and then the stupid ass run out of shotgun instead of a simple QB sneak. Mind boggling. -

Our offense certainly is half-stepping it. Sleepwalking yet again. -

I guarantee film will show guys other than Diggs open. Josh isn’t even looking at them.
