  1. Did you listen to or watch the presser? You dont have to answer that because its clear you didnt. They spoke about at least 10 different things: league owners meeting agenda, raiders relocating, stadium for bills, rift between whaley and Sean, one voice, whaleys future, bringing in a guy from the panthers, tyrodntaylor, thoughts on Sean, hardeat part of being an owner, and who/how the pic would be made. Might want to watch the entire interview before making such a proclamation.

Ill assist you as it seems you didn't

Q: When it comes time to make that pick at 10 whose final call will that be?

A: It's going to be a group effort.

Q: Is that some where every pick will be a group consensus?

A: I think the answer I just gave you. Obviously when I say it's a group effort. It's just like everything else most businesses do in their life. If somebody feels more strongly about something than somebody else than maybe you lean in that direction.

The interviewer nor owner implied or insinuated it was between the hc or gm. You made that assumption. I never stated a janitor thats ludicrous what would he be doing in the draft room (lol). But if you recall because It happened, who irged the team to sign and bring back percy? Was that abgood idea?

I watched it. The questions were about the dumb LaCanfora thing about GM vs HC. You're making things up.

  2. They said if someone or somebody, what they didnt say is those pronouns are limited to Doug Whaley and Sean. I didnt make a thing up at all. The owner stated that. There are more people in the draft room than Whaley and Sean. Overdorf was just recently thanked for the suggestion of re adding a retired injured Harvin and they did just as he suggested.

. The entire conversation and question was about the GMand HC. You are making things up.
  3. The owner was directly asked whether it is the GM and balked at the notion

he said if there is s disagreement then whomever feels strongest about a player may get slanted towards. The entire discussion was about the HC and GM, the two football guys. To suggest Brandon or Overdorf or the janitor somehow would get input is not supported by anything.

I would rather it be the GM myself. But the larger point is having a HC and GM in sync, which everyone has affirmed. So why grasp the one comment as gospel and ignore the other?

  4. Except thats not what we stated. Russ Brandon is in the room during draft days if he states his heated, uncanny ability to persuade opinion, is it a qualified professional (to state who to draft)? Cmon man. Is overdorf who is in the draft room a qualified professional (to state who to draft)?

. They have said Brandon is not involved in football decisions and it was clear from the interview the principals were the HC and GM that Pegula was discussing. You're making things up now.

I'm sure they will act like adults. There seems to be a dangerous trend though

Whaley puts candidates together and wants Hue Jackson, the owners fall in love with Rex Ryan, Whaley says sure I can roll with that too. The owners make the call.

Whaley puts candidates together, the owners fall in love with Sean McDermott, Whaley wants to interview Steelers DC Keith Butler but says sure I can roll with McDermott. The owners make the call.

Now the owner is asked directly whether Whaley has ultimate say over the draft pick, and the owner basically says 'we'll take the temperature of the room.' It seems like they haven't learned yet.

I said this last night but again, Bill Polian takes any and every opportunity to talk about how important collaboration is, but he is the one who ultimately decides at the conclusion of the collaborative process. That doesn't mean Bill Polian was failing to act like an adult or refused to collaborate, but there needs to be a football person who makes the call at the end of the day.

Concern seems to be warranted here

. Well it's either the HC or GM who are both football men.
  5. Two issues here--

When addressing a crowd of course there's diverse reactions. That doesn't mean everybody is flip flopping.

Similar statements have been flat out lies. Some true. Not all statements are created equal and there's no reason to be blindly trusting (or distrustful)

Good points. I object to the assumption they're lying.

  6.

    Very well.

When asked if Whaley would make the call in the draft room or break a tie if Whaley and McDermott disagreed Terry said:

Obviously when I say its a group effort, its just like everything else I think most businesses do in their life. If somebody feels more strongly about something than somebody else then maybe you lean in that direction, Pegula said.

Who is the one that leans in the direction if someone feels strongly?

I think it's quite clear that it's the Pegulas.

As I said, he answered the question. You claimed hecdidn't

  7.

....does he have to say a damn thing or anything?.....he's not Jones or Snyder, camera hounds like Chucky Schumer...add in the mindless Jeb Clampett York or Jr Spanos who INHERITED Daddy's teams......has Paul Allen or Bidwell Jr been in the news lately?.....Kraft is ok but he's grinding his axe with Goober Goodell over Deflategate......but he is classy......

You and I are of similar minds old time. Have been for years now.

  8.

Kim, Russ and I look forward to working and collaborating with Doug Whaley and Rex Ryan in forming a winning future for the organizationThis stable foundation is necessary to achieve long term success in the NFL. Our coach needs to know that, through the good and the bad, theres stability. The players need to know theres stability. And by the way, that doesnt help our players any to start reading that their coach is going to get fired.

And then the coach's D went south and he earned his firing.

  9.

His was a rhetorical question which I answered anyway.

I have covered this a million times here. If you are too busy to go back and read the thread then watch the video for yourself where the owner of the Bills couldn't say who will make the decisions for the Bills in the draft room.

And again he answered it. You just didn't like the answer.

  10. ....Pegula responds to stadium question in Phoenix presser.....new digs are a long way off despite what Goodell may want IMO.....

Pegula, who like 30 other owners voted in favor of the Oakland Raiders moving to Las Vegas, was asked about the Bills stadium situation, and he admitted it is not a topic on the front burner.

The state just got through with a rather expensive renovation on the stadium, Pegula said of the 2014 upgrades at New Era Field. I don't think it's our place to make demands and ask for things right now. We have a lease on our stadium until 2023 and we're looking forward to the football season and not talking about stadiums.

Yeah but can you actually believe anything coming directly from the mouth of the owner, hmmmmmm?????

  11. Yes. They are.

Schneider was not forced on Carroll when Carroll was named HC/Team President. They hired Carroll first and then Carroll had a say in the hiring of Schneider. You'll also notice that the owner is no where involved in any decisions.

It is much different than what the Bills are presenting right now.

The Bills have a GM that found a coach. The Bills are presenting them as a united team just like in Seattle.

  12. It doesn't change the fact that Schneider takes his orders from Carroll. Letting his GM have a player in the 4th round is not the same as deffering to him in terms of player types targeted, team philosophy, and draft strategy/management.

I don't think he is deferring. The point is that Seattle is successful precisely because the coach and GM are in synch regarding personnel management.

  13. Carroll and Schneider were mentioned above. The are the epitome of in sync thinking. On the defensive side, they have a very scheme specific player in mind and that informs their draft plans. They use personnel better suited for 34 schemes to play their 43 fronts, for instance. I'm hoping McDermott and Whaley can establish that same kind of sympatico relationship because it's rumored that McDermott also seeks a certain athlete for his schemes as well.

The thing that frustrates me with some fans is this. If, let's say, OBD came out with a statement that Whaley is absolutely in charge of any and all player moves, then they'd be criticized for not having a more collaborative process.

  14. we need to not only draft Mahomes but also should draft Chad Kelly in the 5th round. Nothing else matters unless you have a QB. You don't get a Franchise QB unless you draft one. There is no trading for one or getting one through free agency. Look would you trade all the bills draft picks the next 2 years for Aaron Rogers of course you would. Well guess what Green would not make that trade. You can get all the other positions in the draft and through free agency or CFL or Arena football league or Australian Rules football or College Free agents that don't get drafted. You can get any position but you can't get the franchise QB. So just stop the silliness that we should draft a reciever or corner with the 10th pick like it will matter. If you want to keep pounding salt and your head up against rocks for 10 more years with no playoffs then let's just keep drafting Running Backs and DB's and keep being losers. I'm out, I said my piece. Just look at the teams that make the playoffs every year. Look at who there Quaterback are, do I need to make a list for you. This is not rocket science it's simple. We need to keep drafting QB's until we find our franchise QB end of story nothing else matters. I could give 2 ***** who else the Bills draft.

Two words. Kurt Warner. Another two words. Tomy Romo. Both Fa QBs.

The thing is, when you make posts talking about how something "never" can happen, it is generally very easy to find examples that prove you're wrong.

It is not simply drafting enough QB's it is drafting the right QB. And that involves very careful and diligent scouting.

  15. Sure. But I decide in the end. Someone has to have final call in the draft room. Why is it so hard for Terry to answer? It's not like this came out of the blue.

He did. He said the guy that feels the strongest about a player. You just don't like the answer. I'm not a big fan of that either, but if you have those kinds of arguments the problems are bigger than that.

At any rate, the owner, HC, and GM have all said they are all working well together. Why not simply accept their word vs. a rumor spreader in LaCanfora who is wrong way more than he's ever right?

  16. You posted a link yet Terry Pegula couldn't say Doug had final say in the draft or that would break the tie when asked directly.

Because he has faith that his HC and GM can work collaboratively perhaps?

You're a business owner, correct? You must have managers, supervisors, right? Do you expect them to work collaboratively?
