NFL+ Streaming Service Launches today
BillsFan4 replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
It seems like they basically just monetized what they had previously been offering for free by throwing in a couple extra features. I guess they can’t offer a full streaming package though because of deals they already have in place with other networks and streaming services. -
Wow, now that’s a blast from the past! Those were the days! I had hundreds of bands full discographies and well over 500 burned CDs for my car audio system. Any time I found a new band I liked I’d just download every album they ever made. Im guessing it’s still possible now but i’ve been out of the loop for a long time.

That was a Great interview! Thanks for sharing. Gets me even more hyped for the season to start.

Also, from yesterday:

I have no interest in getting into a vaccine debate so I’ll leave that comment alone. That’s not even what I was referring to though. I was referring to him blatantly disregarding all of the Covid protocols (the same protocols he followed the previous season) as well as his own rules about staying off of Twitter during the season (something he never did before last season), and not being a distraction during a season where the team had super bowl hopes. https://billswire.usatoday.com/2021/12/27/buffalo-bills-cole-beasley-fined-100k-covid-19-violations/ He didn’t have to get vaccinated but he did have to follow the NFL Covid protocols, which he refused to do. That’s putting himself above the team IMO. He missed time 2 seperate times during the season due to that. It also put him and his teammates at risk. He didn’t seem to care if he potentially exposed his teammates to Covid, which could’ve caused key players to miss important games and even put their health at risk. I mean, he had one teammate that missed the entire season due to Covid complications and another couple who spent time in the hospital due to Covid. https://www.buffalobills.com/news/complication-due-to-covid-19-ends-tommy-sweeney-s-2020-season https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/32039522/buffalo-bills-dion-dawkins-says-being-hospitalized-covid-19-one-lowest-points https://www.syracuse.com/buffalo-bills/2021/12/bills-jon-feliciano-spent-time-in-er-due-to-covid-19-received-monoclonal-antibodies.html He also didn’t have to crusade on Twitter spreading misinformation, arguing with fans + media, even taking shots at Bills fans. He could’ve just been like any number of other Bills players who didn’t get vaccinated but just kept it to themselves and followed the NFL protocols and were not a distraction about it in any way. But he was unable to do that.

I think you’re being a bit unrealistic to expect anyone outside of Buffalo fans to care about the small market Bills during a 17 year playoff drought where they played a lot of crappy and sometimes boring football. Especially national reporters. Heck, I’m sure even some of us born & raised die hard fans lost interest. There was little interest in the Bills by outside fan bases so the national media isn’t going to care. And it’s not like we really had any big rivalries either like we do now with KC. A team like Buffalo is only going to matter when they’re winning. and I think bandwagon fans just come with the territory of being a great team. I actually take pride in the fact that the Bills are good enough to be trendy. I feel like it’s a compliment for people outside of Buffalo to care about the Bills. So as far as I’m concerned, the more (fans) the merrier! It can only be a good thing for a small market team like us. More prime time games. More media attention. More merchandise sales and money for a small market team. More advantage with away crowd numbers.

NFL+ Streaming Service Launches today
BillsFan4 replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Was just reading up on NFL+ over on NFL.com. They confirm that the live regular season games will only be available on phones and tablets. https://www.nfl.com/plus/learn-more?icampaign=npl-edi-cpr-NFL+_Editorial_Launch_Promo I was assuming you could still at least cast it to your TV if you have a method for doing it (like chromecast for ex). I didn’t think that the app would offer a built in casting option but figured I could still do it with chromecast or Apple air play. But then I came across this: https://theathletic.com/3454558/2022/07/27/nfl-streaming-service-nfl-plus/ That makes this service much less appealing to me. I don’t really need it to watch games right now anyway but thought it might be a decent option if I ditch cable. But I’m not really interested in having to watch on my 11” tablet screen or 6” phone screen only. I guess we will have to wait and see if there’s a way around this… too bad it wasn’t available on PC. Then I’d just run an hdmi cable to my tv. But that’s not allowed either. https://support.nfl.com/hc/en-us/articles/5400888930076-I-subscribed-to-NFL-with-an-in-app-purchase-How-do-I-watch-games-on-my-computer- I was going to take advantage of the sale on a year subscription to NFL+ for $29.99 that’s running right now but I think I’ll wait. This really isn’t that appealing to me right now. The only thing I’d be buying it for would be the preseason game access that you can watch on your TV. Game replays for every game would be cool but that costs $79.99/yr for the premium option. I get a majority of games live and the NFL channel shows a bunch of game replays already so I get to see most of the games I want to see as it is. Disappointed with the initial launch of this service. It had the potential to be great but I guess they probably don’t want to deter people from using the other streaming services and networks the NFL has partnered with. Or maybe it was part of the new TV deal. -
It’s crazy to read about some of the stuff he went through. But it never changed him. Never made him bitter/angry. There’s a link to the full story of you click on the tweet.

Xbox game pass gives you access to a ton of Xbox games on windows PC. But there’s a monthly fee and Madden ‘23 won’t hit game pass immediately. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/subscriptions-billing/manage-subscriptions/xbox-game-pass-pc-faq To use an Xbox copy on your PC I’m guessing you’ll have to download an Xbox emulator for PC https://www.techworm.net/2018/11/xbox-one-emulators-windows-pc.html

'Praying for Dion' Dawkins: Top Bills Lineman Leaves Camp
BillsFan4 replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall
glad to hear this! -
What a bunch of nonsense. blaming it on public outrage and then saying they are “Attempting to impose a dramatic shift in culture”…? So players were allowed to sexually assault dozens and dozens of women before “woke” culture got in the way and Watson just wasn’t given enough notice it’s not cool anymore and might piss people off if it gets out? 😂 (only half kidding…) She even said this is basically unprecedented and then says they need to use previous precedence that doesn’t exist. oh, and she has to worry about how this suspension could be used against the next player to assault dozens of women… Then goes light on the suspension for the nonsensical reasons above but imposes an unprecedented ruling that he can’t get private massages for the rest of his career. Makes sense 🤦♂️ The NFL should have a pretty easy time appealing this if they choose to (and I sure hope they do).
-
I knew it was going to be a short suspension when Watson’s lawyers released this statement last night: the talk all along was that his lawyers planned to appeal any lengthy sentence. It isn’t hard to figure out why that suddenly changed… There’s no way they put out the statement above without having a pretty good idea the sentence was going to be short.

So he has to miss time for personal reasons and Mitch Morse says they are praying for him and this is the conclusion you come to? Yikes! -

With a VPN you can set your location to anywhere in the world (depending on the VPN service). So I’m guessing he’d use it to set his IP location as in-market for the game. -
Look what happened when Davis got the snaps in the playoffs that he should’ve been getting all season. He had one of the best playoff performances we’ve seen in years. You can say it won’t take snaps away from him but it absolutely will. There is no way Sanders should’ve been taking snaps away from Davis last season but he did… Plus we have a pretty deep collection of pass catchers already. There’s only so many passes to go around. Who’s snaps would you give to OBJ if not Davis? Diggs? They gotta come from somewhere. I also feel like if we put another veteran WR in front of Davis this season, he’s as good as gone in free agency. And who would blame him? He put in possibly more work this offseason than any other bills player. He’s earned the right to get first crack at the #2 role. OBJ is hurt. He won’t be back till after the regular season starts anyway. I’d rather give davis the chance at that #2 role first and sign OBJ if davis struggles. I just think we have other more pressing needs to use our very limited cap space for. But again, if we sign OBJ I won’t complain. I don’t think he’s a diva or anything like that. He’s supposed to be an excellent teammate. I do think he’d fit the culture here. I’d just rather give Davis the #2 role is all. I honestly think he has the potential to be a #1 caliber WR. I’m very high on Davis.

Training Camp practice 7/30 - The pads come on
BillsFan4 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Really glad to see him there. It makes me hopeful that Kim might be feeling a bit better. 🤞🤞 I believe that’s the first time we’ve seen Terry since Kim’s medical issues. He wasn’t at the Sabres draft afaik and he’s always there. -
I sure hope Hyde is ok!

Here’s his impromptu press conference: He seemed to kind of confirm that he doesn’t spend a lot of time watching film on his own with his “there’s multiple ways to watch film” comments, saying he likes watching film with other players on the team and that there are different ways to learn besides just watching film (at least that was my interpretation). Reports said that he watched film while at the facility but the issue was him studying the film on his own when he was away from the facility. I don’t see how there are multiple different ways to watch film on your own. You either sit and watch it or you don’t. unless he’s not really sitting and watching it… Maybe that’s why they put that clause in his contract about how he had to watch the film I distracted - that he couldn’t just have it playing in the background while he did other things.
-
He actually listed accomplishments from high school 😂 And says he feels disrespected by the talk, but he himself said that he doesn’t need to study film. Now he feels disrespected by it? 🤷♂️ This dude seems to have a VERY fragile ego…
