  1. To me, it seems like maybe it was more than just a football decision to keep Jackson in (which is quite a stupid thing to do in the playoffs IMO). I think they probably didn’t want a QB controversy if Flacco had come in and played well. But its the playoffs. QB controversy be damned. Just give yourself the best chance to win the game and deal with all the rest when the time comes. If Flacco plays well, then great! You now boosted his trade value. The only other thing I can think of is that they wanted to get Jackson the experience for next year and beyond, even at the expense of winning the game...
  2. More highlights on Sabres twitter. https://www.nhl.com/sabres/news/sabres-skills-challenge-recap-jeff-skinner-rasmus-ristolainen/c-303620666 https://mobile.twitter.com/BuffaloSabres?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1081978551681929216&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fbuffalonews.com%2F2019%2F01%2F06%2Fbuffalo-sabres-skill-challenge-casey-mittelstadt-rasmus-ristolainen-zach-bogosian-jeff-skinner-rasmus-dahlin-nhl-news%2F
  3. Wow, what a finish! Eagles fans have have to be over the moon, and Bears fans.... well, I think all us Bills fans (who are old enough to remember) know how they feel right now. I can definitely empahhize with them. What a heart-breaker for the Bears.
  4. That is some serious dedication to be at level 206 already, seeing as the game only came out in mid-November.
  5. Does anyone know, will the Sabres be streaming this? Or is the event only for those who attend in person?
  6. Same here. I think it’s cool to see how much love and respect they (clearly seem to) have for each other.
  7. That was awesome. Especially liked the Williams/McDermott embrace. Kyle was all choked up thanking McDermott, and it sounded like McD was choked up himself.
  8. Florida made it interesting at the end, but Buffalo hung on for the win. Those were 2 very important points earned tonight, especially with Montreal up by 2 with 4 mins left and the NYI tied at 2 headed into OT. It keeps Buffalo in a playoff spot (for now). Right?! All these 1 goal games are not good for my blood pressure... lol.
  9. Important game tonight. If buffalo loses they they could be pushed out of a playoff spot, depending on how the NYI and Montreal games go. I know now Eichel is out, but they have to find a way to get at least a point.
  10. Damn it. I was hoping that they’d fire Danny Crossman... ?
  11. You can vote 10x (easiest to just do it in a row) every 24hrs. Voting goes till the 10th. https://wgr550.radio.com/articles/news/sabres-eichel-miss-least-two-games update - Eichel to miss at least the next 2 games with what is termed as a day-to-day injury.
  12. My guess is Arizona. They really wanted Allen. And their GM is kind of a douche. I would not put it past him to have zero issue doing something like that. You can tell they settled for Rosen just by watching some of the team videos out there. Like the one where they talk about how they’re happily surprised that he’s not this arrogant/entitled/cocky prick that he was made out to be before the draft.
  13. https://nhl.nbcsports.com/2019/01/02/backstrom-kopitar-laine-skinner-highlight-nhl-all-star-last-men-in-vote/ Jeff Skinner is part of a new “last men in” all star vote, giving fans one last chance to vote in an all star snub. Voting opens tomorrow at noon and goes till Jan. 10th.
  14. Housley said he would know more tomorrow (thurs). He said he was still expecting/hoping it was a day to day thing, but housley hasn’t exactly been known for giving an accurate injury timeline. Sure hope he doesnt miss any significant amount of time. Sabres are in trouble if he does.
  15. The airing of grievances.... (for all the Seinfeld fans)
  16. I will never celebrate someone losing their job, especially when it means having to uproot their life/family etc. But I will say that the performance of the Bills o-line and run game left a lot to be desired. It is without a doubt an area that needs to greatly improve. I have to give McDermott some credit for making what I am sure was a very tough decision. I know he and Castillo are close friends. McDermott hasn’t been one to shy away from the tough decisions. I think he is sincere when he says that he’s continually evaluating everything/everyone and looking for ways to improve. Now, he has to get this hire right. Giving Josh Allen a solid o line, in pass protection and the run game, IMO is crucial to his continued development.
  17. This seems more like Rex trying to get his name back out there than anything else. I haven’t heard of him actually scheduled to interview with any teams. But we will see...
