They were comfortable in the $10M per year neighborhood... well, isn’t $11M in the $10M pee year neighborhood? Makes it sound like the Jets are spending judiciously in free agency or something. “Oh, the Bills went $11M. We ere only comfortable at $10.5. Better walk away....” I mean, they gave a friggin ILB $17M per year! ($5M higher than the next closest ILB). They clearly refused to walk away no matter how high the price got. I highly, highly doubt they walked away from Morse over $1M (and if they did, they’re idiots). I’m guessing Morse chose buffalo.

I am so sick of this team. They are so damn fragile. They play a pretty good 1st period, then the Pens come out pushing in the 2nd and Buffalo just epically collapses once again, only this time even worse than normal. Any hope from earlier in the season I had, that there may actually finally be a light at the end of the tunnel, is long long gone. I am usually a pretty positive guy, but I am having a hard time finding any positives anymore. This team just looks years away from being competitive at the moment. I have to believe Housley’s job has possibly been put in jeopardy by this recent slide, no matter what Botterill says. But if they do move on from a 4th coach in a row after 2 (ish) years, they absolutely Have To getnit right. I’d want a good veteran coach, assuming one would come here (Quenneville supposedly said he doesn’t want to go to a rebuild, so...). We can’t keep making changes every couple years. But something has to give here. I can’t see them bringing back the coaching staff if the season ends with this current slide.

I don’t think any of the interviews have started yet. I have WGR550 on and they said guys will be filtering through when they have the time. They also usually carry any press conferences on WGR550. Or on Time warner news channel (nothing on there either)

Not sure if this has been posted yet. Interesting listen. When asked why he signed here he said that Allen kept getting better as the year went on and that you Need to have a QB. He also mentioned that he is good friends with McCoy. They were working out together and McCoy told him that he should really come to buffalo. That they could really push each other. Gore said he thought about it and decided to come here. Makes me wonder what role, if any, McCoy had in signing Gore. I wonder if management approached him at all, or if he mentioned it to McD/Beane? Or maybe it was after the Bills had already showed interest in Gore that Shady recruited him. I actually like the idea of having both Gore and Shady in the same backfield. 2 future Hall-of-famers that are both still chasing records. They can push each other to keep hitting those milestones! lol

Boy, what a Jets-y thing to do... They had the #1 special teams unit in the NFL. The 2 biggest factors in that - their all-pro return man and their all-pro kicker. So, what do the Jets do? Let both walk in free agency even though they had the 2nd most cap space in the NFL. They let 2 more of their biggest ST contributors go, too. (4 total) That franchise doesn’t seem to be run very well.

He was a big factor in the jets having the #1 ranked special teams unit last season. I can’t believe they let him walk...

I read somewhere (on twitter) that Beckham’s deal may get reworked by the browns, similar to what happened with AB. Crazy id true. OBJ just signed that deal. I winder if An will want his contract re-reworked... lol

The Cole Beasley signing was actually one of my favorites (so far). I was super excited that the Bills signed him. I’ve been a fan of his for a while and was hoping the Bills would take a run at signing him. He should be a good, reliable target for Josh Allen. He runs precise routes, has sure hands and is so good at winning his 1v1 matchups.

This makes sense to me. But I’ve said all along that I’d be surprised if we land Bell, so maybe I have a biased view. I think the Bills still believe in Shady and feel that he will rebound with a better o-line and passing game. The Bills brass has backed Shady numerous times to the media and said how the o-line play and passing game needed to improve to open up the run game. Then they put an emphasis on upgrading the o-line + WR corps in free agency. They also signed Shady’s good friend Frank Gore. Plus, we haven’t really heard the Bills linked to any other RBs on the market (outside of a couple tweets about bell), which makes me feel like they don’t necessarily see the Rb position as a huge area of need. (though to be fair, the Bills don’t have many leaks these days). I still think he ends up with the Jets, or maybe Baltimore if they panic after losing so many good free agents. I think Bell is holding out for every penny and one of these more desperate teams (like the Jets) will up their offer enough to entice him to sign. Thats my guess anyway.
