  1. Because Morris can’t block anywhere near as well as Hawes. Personally, I think this is a better use of the TE#3 position. With already having Knox and Kinkaid, I’d much rather have a specialized TE like a Lee Smith than a guy like Morris, who can block + catch but doesn’t do either especially well.
  2. I wonder how he’s feeling knowing that he would have went to the eagles with the next pick… lol. Maybe he’s happy because he has a much clearer path to a starting role in Cleveland?
  3. That was awesome. Happy for this kid that he got his draft moment and I love that he stuck around and made the best of the situation. I just became a Barryn Sorrell fan.
  4. If the raiders or Steelers aren’t interested, I really don’t know who’s going to draft Sanders. Every other team that needed an QB already drafted one. I still think the raiders seem like a possible fit. I read that Tom Brady was one of Sanders biggest mentors. Brady himself was a late round pick who kept that chip on his shoulder most of his career. But would Pete Carroll would want Sanders as a backup, and all the possible drama that could come with it? Teams may not want to deal with the circus that would come with him being the team’s 2nd or 3rd string QB. Or Maybe the Steelers take him as a developmental QB. On the NFLN broadcast last night they made it sound like Aaron Rodgers would be signing in Pittsburgh soon. They said the Steelers weren’t looking to draft a QB to play this coming season. So again, that question comes in on if a team would want to deal with everything that might come with having Sanders as the backup. But I could see Sanders being ok sitting behind Aaron Rodgers for a year.
  5. I am guessing those rumors about Sanders interviewing terribly must have some truth to them. Sure seems that way.
  6. Saints already took a QB didn’t they? Shough iirc. same. Unless Las Vegas drafts him, I don’t see any other team left in R2 that needs a QB. I could see him falling to the Steelers pick toward the end of the 3rd and I don’t even know if they’re interested.
  7. Joe Buscaglia likes it and says he’s an ideal fit. I value his opinion pretty highly.
  8. Well… here’s to hoping Miami does something stupid! 😂
  9. Glad the giants did the smart thing and didn’t reach for a Qb! I didn’t want Carter in New England 😂
  10. They were definitely amazing TV’s but I think top tier new OLED and QD-OLED TVs look better. i actually have an old Panasonic plasma from that era and my newer Sony OLED is better in every way.
  11. Oops, I meant millions. lol A typical 4k OLED TV is roughly 8.3 million pixels as 4k resolution is 3840x2160 (= 8.2 something million pixels) and each pixel = 1 OLED diode, but each diode is 3 sub pixels in one (red, blue green), so more like 24 million. And yes, very impressive to look at!
  12. Do you stream on the Sony using the built in smart TV apps? If so, I’d recommend picking up an external streaming device like a fire stick 4k. I never use the built in apps on any of my TVs for streaming. I want the TV just focused on picture processing (etc). You will get a smoother experience using an external streaming device. also, some people are more sensitive to stutter on OLED TVs (usually when watching sports like hockey). I don’t notice it on my Sony OLED, but I know people who prefer LED TVs to OLED for that reason - stutter during fast moving sports. OLED is superior in almost every way except overall motion handling. also, yes, LG makes the OLED panels for every OLED Tv on the market except Samsung. Samsung didn’t have any OLED TVs until recently, when they came out with the QD-OLED panels. They are brighter than traditional OLED panels, but I don’t know how their longevity and burn-in protection compares to standard OLED panels. Longevity and burn-in protection have come a long ways in traditional OLED. I’m always a bit leery of brand new tech until it’s been out for a # of years. I know Samsung had some major bugs with their new QD-OLED a few years ago when it first came out. I’m guessing it’s improved since then. Sony does use Samsung’s QD-OLED panels in 1 or 2 of their TV models. But even though Sony uses LG and Samsung OLED panels, their picture quality is still superior because of their processing and upscaling being by far the best in the industry.
  13. No, that’s a Q series. The Q series is good. I was talking about the TVs lower than the Q series, like the D series (usually labelled “crystal UHD”). personally, I’d go with this one over the Q7, but it’s a couple hundred more. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-75-class-bravia-xr-x90l-led-4k-uhd-smart-google-tv-2023/6544735.p?skuId=6544735 that site I linked is great for comparing TV models. They have a comparison tool that breaks down everything in great detail. https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/lg-b4-oled-vs-lg-c4-oled/49540/49541
  14. First question would be what your budget is. OLED and QLED are 2 different types of TVs and technologies. A QLED TV is just a regular LED backlit TV with a color filter on the screen (“quantum dot” light filter). Sony also has this technology. It’s called Triluminous. An OLED Tv is much different. OLED = organic light emitting diodes. There are literally BILLIONS of small light emitting diodes that can each be turned off individually from each other, which creates almost infinite contrast and true blacks, with no blooming. Where as with LED backlit TVs, there are maybe a few hundred LED’s (on the high end LED TVs) or maybe a few dozen on lower end LED TVs. Some are what’s called “direct lit”, where they have LED’s across the whole screen. Sometimes they can be turned on+off individually and other times they are turned on/off in zones. It depends on the TV. Some low end LED TVs are only edge lit (only have LED lights along the edges of the TV). There is also a new lighting technology out called “mini LED”. It uses more LED backlights than a standard LED but still not as many as an OLED. But the mini LED get significantly brighter than an OLED. oh, and then there is QD-OLED, another new technology. It uses the quantum dot light filter with a new, brighter OLED panel. all have their benefits and drawbacks. OLED is still my favorite. Almost any new Tv is going to be 4k capable these days. I do think it’s worth owning a 4k TV. There is plenty of 4k programming and movies these days. Most of my streaming services broadcast in 4k. Amazon even broadcasts some of the Thursday night football games in 4k. As far as brands of Tv - Sony is my favorite brand and has been for decades now. They are far and away the best when it comes to picture processing. Their processors have been #1 for a very long time. depending on your budget, I’d recommend at least a Sony 900 series LED. Or if you can swing it, one of their OLED TVs. (I own both their top end LED and OLED TVs and love them both, but the OLED wins hands down). LG is also an excellent brand for OLED TVs (though I’d avoid their LED TVs). If you are looking for a cheaper TV, Hisense is a decent choice. Their processing isn’t going to be on the level of Sony, but they have excellent picture quality for a cheaper TV. I would strongly suggest avoiding the lower end Samsung TVs. They are crap IMO. this is a great site for reviewing TVs: https://www.rtings.com/tv
  15. I didn’t want to start a new thread for this so I figured I’d just share it here. https://www.on3.com/college/colorado-buffaloes/news/colorado-unveils-travis-hunter-shedeur-sanders-retired-numbers-at-folsom-field/ what a joke.
  16. https://www.nhl.com/news/ray-shero-longtime-nhl-executive-dies-at-62 Ray Shero passed away. He was only 62.
  17. I feel like this is under-selling Gretzky a bit. He was the true definition of a phenom. When he scored 212 points in 81/82, the next closest guy was Mike Bossy. 1981/82: 1.W. Gretzky*212 2.M. Just crazy. lol Ovechkin has been super consistent year in and year out scoring goals. Most consistent goal scorer in NHL history now. https://www.hockey-reference.com/leaders/points_top_10.html
  18. Ovechkin tied Wayne Gretzky’s all time goal record last night (with #894). https://www.reddit.com/r/nhl/s/uroUTkbGLG One more goal and he owns the record! The capitals play next on Sunday at 12:30pm EST. The game is on TNT.
  19. (PDO is a measure of puck luck) terrible Corsi for. Terrible xGF. Crazy high shooting percentage and PDO. yep. Fools gold.
  20. Yeah I really haven’t closely followed any draft prospects this year. I just started reading up on prospects this weekend and watching some highlight videos. I've seen numerous comparisons to Corey Perry and the Tkachuk’s. for ex: https://www.tsn.ca/draftcentre/video/craig-s-list-who-are-the-nhl-comparables-for-top-four-players~3061629 but I really don’t have my own opinion on him yet. I don’t want to bother getting excited about any top 5 prospects until I know where the Sabres end up picking. lol Martone is definitely less appealing to me if he’s more like Tuch than Tkachuk. There’s a number of guys in that top 5/6/7 that look really intriguing though. my short list as of now (with very little info…) would probably be: Frondell, McQueen, Martone and Misa obviously. Hagens looks like a good player but I don’t know that I’d want the Sabres to take another smaller player like him.
  21. I am not rooting for losses but I also really don’t GAF about meaningless wins right now either. Strong finishes to lost Sabres seasons have never carried over into next season. After this total $*** show of a year I want that top 5 pick. Especially this year where there are pretty clear tiers in the draft and some players at the top that would fill huge needs for Buffalo. Picks 1+2, then picks 3-5/6. And there’s a few players at the top the Sabres could really use. They have some nice talent in their pipeline but no players I would call truly elite game changers. https://www.nhl.com/news/mock-2025-nhl-draft-plenty-of-debate-following-number-1-pick The Sabres currently hold the #4 pick. But they are in a cluster of teams that are all within 2-3 points of each other. They could still easily fall into the pick 8-9 range, which would just piss me off after having suffered through this whole crap season. I really want Misa but that ain’t happening unless they win the lottery for pick #2. But give me Martone at 4/5 and I’m thrilled. He’s described as similar to Tkachuk. There’s also a couple bigger (over 6’) hard nosed guys that look like they could be legit #1 centers, which is something Buffalo doesn’t have in their system right now.
  22. I agree the roster is a jumbled mess, but I don’t think it’s from changing coaches. The roster really hasn’t changed all that much in recent years, outside of the bottom 6. This is the roster that our (incompetent) GM built on purpose. This is Adams rebuild in year 5. It’s filled with players he drafted, traded for and/or paid big money to. He’s talked about how this is the roster he would want for game 7 of a Stanley cup final. After Granato was fired, he even talked about how he was promised roster upgrades that never came. Personally, I’d like to see them start fresh with a new team president, GM and coaching staff. But I could live with Lindy being back if it meant a new GM would be taking over! 😂 (as long as it’s not another Pegula yes man). I’d still prefer a new coach, but I also don’t think coaching is anywhere near their #1 issue.
  23. Are you? I’ve been disappointed with Lindy so far. I really haven’t been overly impressed with his coaching. I’m not a fan of his man-on-man defensive zone system and it seems like most players are regressing under him, except for Krebs and a couple veterans (Zucker, Greenway, Tuch. Also Dahlin but he’s going to be good no matter who his coach is, as will Tuch). He just seems like a bad fit for this roster. The problem is, if he decides to step away there’s almost zero chance the Sabres hire another veteran coach. Adams would just promote Seth Appert and I have absolutely no interest in seeing that happen. Especially with how good Rochester has been this year with a new coach, and how bad Buffalo’s PP has been under his tutelage this season.
  24. RE: The new strength and conditioning coaches - Will Greenberg, who has been with the Bills as an asst. strength & conditioning coach since 2017, was named head S&C coach. https://pro-football-history.com/coach/11248/will-greenberg-bio and Barry Rubin was named senior strength & conditioning coach. He was most recently the head S&C coach for the Chiefs from 2013-2022, and before that he was head S&C coach for the eagles and packers. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barry_Rubin_(American_football)
  25. Reports are that $8.4M can be up to $10M (not sure of the incentives)
