Every coach loses games they shouldn't. The Patriots just got beat by Miami. The Saints lost last week to a team that had no business beating them.

This team has a long way to go. Now if we are getting completely owned in games by mid point next year, I'll be concerned. But this is a rebuild. Expectations should not be high. We have a rookie QB and young contributors everywhere. We have a huge lack of talent. It is tough to compete in clutch situations when you lack talent.

I don’t care that they lost this game, due to my low expectations. But specifically speaking about McD and not the players; the guy gets out-coached and -schemed quite a bit. It’s a point of concern going forward for me because a trend may be appearing. They could flip the talent level next year and have weapons everywhere, but still lose games due to coaching. For continual success, we need both.

The second to last FG drive, where we get to the 30 and basically sit on it to kick the FG (because our HC is so confident in his D), was a page out of Rex’s playbook. Then executed identically.

This is the only week the Bills have been favored to win. They haven't faced an inferior opponent all year. There is no reason to believe that the Bills are superior to any other team in the league. They have the least paid roster and the least talented roster in the league. They've won 4 games by playing better than they actually are. They won 9 games last year the same way.

This is year 2 of a complete rebuild. Next year will be the first year of this regime where their hands won't be tied behind their backs.

Now if you don't believe that the team needed a complete rebuild, oh well. McDermott believed it did and convinced the Pegulas that it did as well.

I don’t care what Vegas says, the Bills team I watched the last two weeks (sans ST) were better than their opponents on that given day. Yet, they took L’s in both cases. That’s worrisome. I’m def not saying this team is talented, don’t get me wrong. But a better, more experienced coach doesn’t allow his team to lose games like these. I hope McD can become that guy. The others in the line didn’t.

I’m really concerned that this guy isn’t the right guy to have here going forward. The defense folds in big spots constantly and game day management is terrible. Unless we force turnovers we lose. I’m glad everyone else is sure this tebuild will work. I just can’t get there. I am tired of seeing this team blow games that they should be wining. I don’t care about gaining 2 spots in draft position. I care about believing this team can actually win games at some point

The hallmark of every bad team the Bills fielded during the drought (which was all of them) was losing to inferior teams. I know it’s “any given Sunday”, but last two weeks looks like more of the same. They weren’t talentless all those years, but did have bad coaches.

When it comes to managing a game and in game situations, McDermott is one of the worst if not the worst.

Very ananlytical guys choke under the pressure of time. I think he falls under this umbrella. It’s also why he has great and terrible performances, the times he sucks (like today) the entire game plan was planned wrong. He can’t adjust well on the fly to his miscalculation and we have a half of football like this. It sctually gets worse as he’s trying to adjust.

    Even with Barry Sanders???

No one could possibly think that. Was there ever a more exciting player in the NFL? Guy could lose yardage twice in a row; then on third down jump over a guy, spin off another, be face-to-face and 3” from a LB and shake him so bad he couldn’t even get a fingernail on him, then take it to the house, hand the ball to the ref and go back to the sideline, quietly.

    True.

A great deal of the frustration of being a Bills fan in the 2000's has been the repetition of mistakes from one HC/GM to the next.

Whaley addressed the WR position in the draft because he knew he couldn't get them in free agency due to the lack of a top passing QB.

Enter McD and exit all of them......Watkins, Woods and Goodwin.

And then came the INEVITABLE stories/excuses about McBeane not being able to get WR's in FA.   No sh*t!   This is why ignorance of the law is not a defense in the legal system.?

Only 982 years left in this terrible millennium ... then we can finally be good again.

Loved him at Bama last year and was hoping we'd use a mid rounder on him. We got Taron Johnson in the 4th and Levi Wallace as an UDFA. Hoping he sticks.

On a random note don't be too surprised if the Bills use their 1st rounder on a CB this year. You're going to see Greedy Williams being mocked to us a lot.

He's not particularly impressive, but he's got a modicum of swag.

I'm sure the old timers will deride or dismiss that, but it matters. I'm concerned with the overall lack of personality on this team.

Nobody seems pissed. Nobody seems happy. Nobody seems to care one way or the other. That's something impossible to quantify, but it's something I've noticed over the last two seasons.

I’m not sure if it matters, what you describe. But Tre White personifies it best, and happens to be the best player at any position on the Bills roster. We need 21 more just like him.

The draft doesn't get you free agents or trades or other means for a Husker to play for the BIlls.

Gotta DIG to find a Vince Ferragamo!!!

this is a the best list of Huskers, but you'll have to do the leg work, and i have found players with game experience that do not have mention on this site...

    https://www.pro-football-reference.com/schools/nebraska/

Yes, exactly. Richie Incognito wouldn’t be included in the draft links as you mention, just like Ferragamo.

    Appreciate the link @row_33

  10. For reasons that aren’t important, I’m looking for a short list of former or current Buffalo Bills players that attended (played football for) University of Nebraska — Lincoln.

My list begins and ends with R Incognito. I’m hoping the community, especially the guys that have been around a long time, can help me expand it.

    Thanks!

You're still here?  Geesh, with all your I am done threads and threats, I thought you would be gone by now.

Man I would love to go get Baker, best QB in this class and would also love grabbing someone like Lamar at 12 without having to trade up...but now getting rid of these dumb threads by you makes that scenario even better.

MODS:  I think there should be a forum rule, strictly enforced, that states if you PUBLICLY CLAIM you are DONE if such and such happens, then your whiny stupid threat is upheld by the mods and your account is locked for 1 year as well as your IP address so you cant just make another account.

In other words, if you're gonna start these pathetic wussy false threats, you get held accountable.  You want the attention, fine, then own your empty attention needing words.  Then lets see how many of these stupid threat threads come up as if anyone here gives a crap about whether you're "done" or not if something happens.

Sorry, but if that happens, and it’s enforced...im done
