I would have challenged Beane's premise. He's saying that since the offense was effective last year, it will be effective this year with the same players returning, plus Palmer. But he's assuming that Allen will have another MVP year, that he and Brady won't miss one of their most clutch players in Mack Hollins, and that other teams won't be better prepared to stop what the Bills did well. Optimistic posters here add that Kincaid and Coleman will be better. (Which reminds me of the annual cry, "This is the year Elam will show up!)
In short, Beane is gambling. You can make an argument he had no choice with the defense so badly needing help. But he's leaving Allen and Brady with essentially the same JV squad of wide receivers and hoping that lightning will strike twice.
All that said, I do think Allen will lift this squad, again. But he'll win despite his receivers (and Beane), not because of them.
His premise is even more flawed because Beane is touting points per game, which is a total offense stat. What % of yards and points did the WR group account for last year? Of the 3RBs, 3 TEs, and Josh Allen, did they under or overperform?
Disclaimer I don’t know what % is “good” but he should know, and tout it to defend his position.

This wreaked of Beane hiding behind his impenetrable shield of drafting Josh Allen and using it to deflect any criticism. Bringing up Rosen? Please. No one thought JA would be what he is now and that includes McBeane. He then comes off as a major hypocrite because he hosts a WR the same day he says they’re all good. Didn’t yesterday he himself say he was surprised he didn’t draft a WR? Major deflection. Just say you think it’s a solid room and if it isn’t then we’ll address it.

Ravens are trying to mitigate how bad Jackson collapses in the playoffs by making sure it's impossible to get a big play off of them.
I don't know if it'll work but it's a big premium pick on a position that they already have an all pro at.
Won’t matter cause Jackson will fumble or throw picks baby.

Well, let's see if Daboll can groom another QB
JA wins MVP without Daboll so maybe he didn’t do squat?

Its simple. Beane needs to stop trying to outsmart every other GM and pick a consensus defensive lineman from the top 10.

I think this is it too. He’s trying to hit HRs with guys flying under the radar, that most teams are passing on, trying to find his diamond in the rough ala J Allen. See Elam, Kincaid, Rousseau, Oliver and Edmunds. None of these guys are stud game changers but all are or will be serviceable starters somewhere for years. We need more game changers!

It’s not worse it’s just more stress inducing. Every game is significant and becomes more so over the course of the season. In many ways it’s less fun because of that. Before, when we lost to the Jags we’d shrug our shoulders and go ape 💩 if we beat the Packers. There was more opportunity for fun during the drought—higher lows and higher highs. Now our expectations are so high the lows are lower and so are the highs.

Absolutely. The opposite of the madman during the Rams game.

Bingo! When KC didn’t show man I’m calling timeout. I don’t like what could happen.
I didn’t hear the Torrence comment that was posted about them bluffing that blitz all game but you can’t believe they will bluff on 4th down. This is the game.
Yes a TO and new play but then Spags goes man to man and ruins that one too. Point is our coaches and QB are not on the level to predict what KC does effectively and constantly walk into traps. The only way to combat it is get more talented than them at key positions. That’s how Josh beats KC in the regular season—he out talents the right defensive call.

At least we saved our timeouts because we all knew we’d stop Mahomes and get the ball back.
Shakir is basically the outlet there. I just don’t get the play. I think this will drive Allen crazy all off season. I’m not sure what the plan was if the blitz came.
Since Josh read zone D, Shakir is an outlet but also like 3rd or 4th in the progression. They’ve ran that play with a RB back there before. There was no plan for a blitz as all receivers on the right were running 10 yard routes. So frustrating.

The way to beat that jailbreak in protection was to have a check down.
That's on Brady not Josh
Also don’t go empty set, put a RB back there to save Josh if needed. Also a safety outlet. Brady sucked the last 2 weeks.

Josh Allen chocked IMHO yes, let me explain why I think this way.
protection was to slide L, JA ran right. Maybe run to were you sent your guys to protect you.
He snapped the ball with 17 secs left, why not wait until the last second to maybe get a better idea of the defensive play called.
There were 15 yds to go to get in FG range, this is the most important play of the game, one that will end your season or take you to the SB why not wait until the last second and call a TO (we had 3 left)
I know I am a keyboard warrior, a looser, a dumb football fan that knows nothing, don't care what you say, have been a fan for over 35 years and I love this team and I love Josh Allen but he is not clutch when it matters. He hasn't been for the last 2 playoff loses.
Other issues are. Brady kept calling the sneak all the time, yes, but it was up to him to try and run it right instead of left all the ***** time.
He was scared all game long, every time the broadcast had a closeup on him he looked like it, not optimal when you need an MVP type of game from your MVP QB.
There was a shot of him coming off the field on a time out and I said “oh 💩 that’s glassy eyed Josh, he’s not the one we need to win this.” He wears his heart on his sleeve so you can easily tell which Josh is in-game.

Has any athlete, across any sport, been let down by their team as much as Josh Allen has?
Josh has 9 TDs and 0 turnovers in the last 3 playoff losses to the Chiefs.
Bills DEF has forced 5 punts and 2 turnovers over those 3 games.

I agree with the OPs sentiment. But it’s doubly frustrating when opposing QBs essentially have to have the game of their season to beat you AND they always do!!! See yesterday and LA Rams.
The theory of McD’s D doesn’t match its practice and pairs poorly with our offensive philosophy. If you really distill down why it’s likely due to piss poor DL play throughout his tenure. They have not hit on the DL yet despite throwing a ton of assets there. It’s killing them.
-
They’re like a great tennis player who can return everything you throw at them and force you to make a mistake (which you eventually will). You have to excel outside of your tendencies to beat people like this. The Bills are not adaptable. Their coaches are why. Small thinkers in key moments.

Ocyrus Torrence said the chiefs show blitz from one side then blitz from the other, so this wasnt a mistake on Josh as that's the protection he had been making. Spags just tricked him and he still over came the rush, other players need to step up.
I think what he’s saying is no one went in motion with Shakir so Josh thought zone and thus Shakir did not become an option as an outlet. On man coverage he’d be first read. So Spags called the perfect D, Brady called a predictable play, and Josh was stuck in between.
-
This is a typical loss in that when the coords made the right call it wasn’t executed AND when they made a bad one the players did just enough to keep going. We needed more from both tonight.

Yeah I left, trips right, qb fall throw up a prayer shoudl be removed from the playbook. Cant believe they designed the play that way
Dude the orbit to Shakir was wide open away from pressure but Josh starts running backward like an idiot instead. Would of gotten us in FG range immediately.

Buffalo will never win a championship until they have a defense that can make stops when it counts. We have been unable to do that against KC for the last 4 playoff games.
Last 2 years v KC we were down 3 and given the ball to win it in regulation. The offense failed both times to even tie it.

The KC coaches have like 50 years more experience than our 3 HC/DC/OC combined—much of it coming at the apex of situational football. It shows every year. There is no way to out coach them you have to out talent them!

Brady needs his head examined not running Cook. He’s almost popped 3 runs.

Probably so. Others here have strong justification for why no WR last year or this year. He chose not to use these and instead went on the attack. That approach and his premise I don’t really care for or but, whether he’s ultimately right or not.
