Oh, it was bad, all right. Stinkston flat out quit on that ball to avoid contact. He alligator-ed his body all the way. He's done that before and it's become an issue. He disappeared in the NFC title game vs. Carolina last year and the fear in Philly is he'll do it again in a crunch time situation this postseason.

...frankly, the Bills have to help themselves. Period. Win out and see what happens when the smoke clears 1/2. Any slipups and it's definitely wait til next year.

Exactamundo. BDDB has to recognize/avoid the blitz (WM needs to help pick it up, Shelton as well) and not force things. Evans will need to keep playing at the level he's shown the past few weeks to free up Moulds. I couple of weeks ago, I suggested that WM has a buck-75 game in him. Would be great if this Sunday would be the one. No ST (read: kicking) screwups from Lindell. Hard to believe that (Don't Come Back) Shayne Graham has gained a toehold in Cinci...he didn't do diddly squat during his time in Buffalo.

...mark this date on your grid calendar. Saturday, September 24--ND at Washington. Weis vs. Willingham, the current vs. the former.

So far so good today w/ the server....
Greg de'Ville replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
...I've noticed a difference. Earlier in the week, it took a few moments (5-10 seconds) for the board to appear. Now it's instantaneous. Gracias, Sir SDS. -
...the Bills will have to pick up the blitz and recognize the kind of things the Bungle defensive unit did to Roethlisberger (7 sacks) in the Pit-Cin game at Paul Brown Stadium a few weeks back. Bungles were in that Steelers ballgame throughout. And they own a nice home win over the Bronx on MNF. That is why imho this is a dangerous game for the Bills. They have to get the jump on Cinci and take the crowd out. Can't fall into a road hole a la Dieami because this is a much better team than the DolFelons. Bills defenders have to wipe the Cleveland game from their minds and start fresh. The Bungles aren't the Browns.

Bills must not leave any stone unturned. Prepare for both Kitna and Carnac.

Bills almost moved to Miami

The "Dream" Super Bowl that never was but wish it had taken place: 1964, Bills vs. Browns. The Bills' great defense vs. the immortal Jim Brown. The two teams combined only gave up seven points in their respective league championship games (Bills 20-7 over Chargers, Browns 27-0 over Colts). 40 years later and I still recall how special those teams were. -
MM to get Coach of Year Consideration?
Greg de'Ville replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Marty S. He's done a tremendous job this season and his Bolts are on the cusp of wrapping up the AFC West. He's resurrected Drew Brees from the scrap heap. The Super Chargers will be a handful for any team they play in the postseason. -
Sean Salisbury has us 9-7

Pinkston's "For Who, For What?" moment
Greg de'Ville replied to Greg de'Ville's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Definitely. TO pushed off bigtime yet the zebra called Springs for PI. Bad call. It was not one of the Iggles' better efforts last night. They are getting nicked up bigtime in their defensive front four and that is a concern as the playoffs near. -
...Pinkston claimed he lost a 1st quarter long ball in the lights, but the fans and media know better. He gave up on that ball because he glanced at a Deadskins safety ready to make a pop. It was reminiscent of another Iggle of lore, Ricky Watters, who alligator-armed a pass over the middle against the Bucs a few years back. Only it wasn't just Pinkston's arms that retreated--it was his whole body. He wanted no part of any contact and simply gave up on the pattern. It's all everyone's talking about in Philly this morning.

...the "Pittsburgh Rules" state, in part, that if an opposing DB even breathes on a Steeler WR, out goes the hanky. Dog-Ass Jets got a major hosing in the first half at the Mustard Sunday. Some dubious illegal contact/PI calls. The holding call on Becht that wiped out a sizable gain by Jordan was also suspect. Herm did well not to blow up at Bonnie B. with the quickie halftime interview, although I could tell he was steamed. Granted, the Steelers are good (defense especially so), but they don't need that extra "help" from the striped shirts. Let the players decide the outcome. If it's incidental contact on pass plays and both players are going for the ball, let it go, no penalty. We've seen this kind of officiating before, especially in Foxhole (The "Patsie Rules"). When a team's going good, the preponderance of the calls--deserved or not--are going to go its way. And if a team's not, well...

Monday morning Don Criqui Rant
Greg de'Ville replied to OnTheRocks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Iggle/Wilcots not much better imho. Sheesh! Perhaps if the Bills/Steelers game means something in the closer, you might get Nantz/Simms or Enberg/Dorkster. -
Too late. Boomer's circling the wagons with more frequency week by week.
-
...saw the highlight--was a cool play. Brady stumbled going back in the pocket, and from his hiney zipped the ball to Patrick Pass to the left flat, and Pass bulled his way to a first down. That a heady play by Brady from his hiney.

Monday morning Don Criqui Rant
Greg de'Ville replied to OnTheRocks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
...my hunch is that Enberg and the Dorkster will be doing this Sunday's game in Cinci. That will relieve you of the "suffering" you've experienced through three straight weeks of Criqui/Tasker. -
...the Bronx are going DOWN and going down HARD. I want KC to lay a whuppin' on them Sunday. I guess that was Jake the Fake's way of telling the Bronx fans he's number one!
-
...need assistance from (of all teams) the DolFelons. Dog-Ass Jets/Steelers game will be interesting. Our Heroes are on their way to (gasp) GOING OVER .500 for the first time since way back when (namely September 2003, a seeming millenium ago). Another buck for WM and a great defensive effort today against a BAD (and I mean, BAD) run-for-the-bus Browns bunch.

Bud. Untreated Mississippi River pisswater. Never again because that stuff was rough on my insides (as well as what came outsides).

The 12 Days of a Buffalo Bills Christmas
Greg de'Ville replied to rockpile's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
...an oldie-but-goodie! That was a great regular season from start (Leaks TD ends the Dieami Jinx at Ralphie's) to finish (Montana's pass for Clark in the EZ broken up on the final play of the game at SF), but One-Look Joe had a bad ankle in the divisional playoff game at SD and Bolts rallied late to win. Frustrating loss. -
Passport required to get into Canada?
Greg de'Ville replied to KD in CA's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
...if you're flying to Canada (as I did last summer), yes, you need a birth certificate and photo ID for boarding. -
...I'd like to see Bush win the Heisman, but I believe Jason White will repeat. He just won the Maxwell Award, and 65% of those who capture the Maxwell end up winning the Heisman as well. He also received the O'Brien Award.
