1.

I'm not surprised a Leafs' can would confuse laughing criticism with whining, either.

    618222

Well everywhere I look you seem to make note of how a call went in the Leafs favor. Laughing criticism? Sure looks like whining to me.

Like when you whine about Sundin not getting a penalty? But you fail to mention the Sabres scored during a Sundin penalty?

Speaking of which, did you even notice that the Leafs were shorthanded 10 or 11 times? Of course not. It's better for you to whine that the Leafs get calls from the refs.

Tonight's Leaf game (just so you know) there were two non calls in the early part of the 1st that should have been penalty's to Ottawa but weren't called. One was a high stick that caught Klee's face and I think he's lucky because it looked like it was going to be a nasty eye injury but guess what??? No call from the ref. Nope, not even at home in Toronto on a Saturday night HNIC game that you seem to think makes the refs treat them better.

Please, enough of your bias already.

    Thanks

  2. Nice win over a bad hockey team.  It was nice to see the Bud bench whining about the officiating in the last 10 seconds and then have the Sabres add to that with a hattie.  Only the Leafs' broadcast could give their team one star (Sundin) in a 6-2 loss.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I really think that besides getting off your soapbox, you should apply to be a Maple Leaf. Your whining is easily up to their level.

  3. pipe down Gordie..you and all of your Wendell Clark, Alan Bester, Dan Daoust, and Gary Leeman jersey wearing clowns will drive down the QEW...drunk since noon..shouting Go Leafs Go like a bunch of tools...then the Sabres will lay a 7-2 beating on the Leafs..someone see if Bill Barilko is available for next season

    617571

As opposed to the goons I still see wearing Schony or Korab jerseys huh?

Meh, this team really could use a piece of chit or two like Daoust or Leeman! :D

But please, refrain from throwing Wendel into that group. Wendel was a player any team would want.

    Gordie.

    :D

  4. Leafs are dying and likely will not make the playoffs. (enjoy that)

I will be in sec 201 tonight and will enjoy the Patty moments. Raising his jersey will be a pretty cool thing.

The Leafs must win and will play like they never have when coming here. I expect a tough game with a few chop shots from both sides. And AD, keep track of who gets how many bad calls from the refs.

Don't piss me off or I'll spill my beer down the back the guy in front of me :)

  5. Myself, i'm partial to the Nissan x-terra. that thing drives beautifully, and like a car.

    610855

Since when? I thought that ride was very truck like as opposed to a car like ride in the Mariner.

I, thinking the X is a very capable 4 wheel off roader and the Escape is a very capable on road 4 wheel. At least I know for me I would not be comfortable taking my Mariner off road, but would be all too happy slashin thru muck in an X

  6. JMO, but unless we go to a "hard" control board with real authority, I don't see much use for any of these folks.

Have they accomplished anything at all,

It's a shame Ed Regan left, but I think he really wanted to affect change and just got disgusted with the whole charade.

    610505

I agree with your thoughts. I think Reagan expected this to turn into a hard board which even with the recently elected people to the County, I believe will happen. Just a matter of when and then the control board would have the teeth that Regan was looking for.

I think they have had some influence on the legislators and our boy Joel but, not enough to matter other than we have had to pay more. Not that that's surprising! But I guess without them we would be even worse off????

  7. "Campbell quits county control board"

"I find myself in a situation where my character, integrity and honesty has been challenged. I don't need that. . . .

"Campbell, a retired president of Dunlop Tire Corp., had taken advantage of taxpayers and would suffer embarrassment if the disclosure received widespread media attention. "

"Then he announced his departure and refused to speak with reporters as he donned his coat and left. "

We have such a beautiful area here and yet we can't get out of our own way to make things better here.

We have too many people in charge who are just slackers, have no stones or want to feed off the public trough all their life. Not that this guy has been eating at the trough all his life, but c'mon! You take a job like this and are then ineffective and think you won't be srutinized?

Why take the job in the first place?

    NO STONES!

  8. Note Reed is our best receiver at 8.9 and is only the 48th best in the NFl based on this stats.  Evans is 50th at 7.6 and Moulds 56th at 6.5.  Notice that Reed catches 60% of the balls thrown his way, Evans only 53%, and Moulds who really is our clutch receiver is 63%.

You way underestimate Reed, and his abilities, and are too much looking at write-ups and lemmings mentality.  He is easily one of our top 3 receivers and possibly our 2nd best.  And no Evans isn't #1.

    610019

Nope he only had dropsies in one game.  Beyond that he was pretty much catching everything thrown his way.

    610020

I have every game Tivo'd (don't ask why)

watch the long Lee Evans reverse and see who is out in front blocking (twenty five yards down the field), its Peters.  I'd like to see Mike "titties" Williams do that.

    610035

Stl, I gotta ask, why? Wait this is perfect!! Bravo! I know why, so you can go and verify this kind of nonsense.

Please, please go back and look at every game and tell me how many times Reed drops a ball!

    Look at VA's claims:

    Our best receiver,

    dropsies only in one game.

    only three drops all year,

pretty much catches everything thrown his way,

is one of our three best receivers,

(don't worry about that last one, I'll give him that one  )

And claims I am following the lemmings!

Stl, I really need your help with this. The good news is I think you will only have to watch three games at most to cancel all of these claims!

Although, you might watch them and surmise that Sam Aiken could possibly be one of our three best receivers! :D

VA, put it down or pass it man

By the way Stl, great point of Peters vs Big Mike!!!

  9. Can someone refresh my memory here, but didnt Reed have that problem for just several games in one year?  I do not remember Reed having this issue last year.

    609988

Reed was better last year but still did have his problems at times. I grade him as an average 3rd string WR which to me isn't a bad thing. I'm only willing to let him go because with Parrish on the roster we already have a 3rd string WR (with arguably more upside than Josh) and two starters in place (so long we keep Moulds).

    609998

The Jokeman answered your question. I agree he dropped fewer balls last year, but he still dropped some at bad times. At least I remember him dropping several third down passes that made me scream why are we throwing the ball to him on third down!!!!

  10. Moulds must go.  You can't dump Mike Williams and Sam Adams, then keep the king of the mutineers.

    609974

If Moulds restructures again, it says he is a team guy. Marv has ties to him and perhaps noone else on the team.

I think they ask him, do you want to play for a contender? Or do you want to be a Buffalo Bill your entire career with an outside chance we get this turned around quickly with your help?

The next cut will be the kicker. We will then make a big splash and sign Vinateri!!

  11. As far as Reed goes, he was our 2nd best clutch receiver last year and we will miss his ability to get open in the seems if he is not resigned.  Plus his run blocking makes him perfect for a single back set as he is like having a FB  on the edge when he is in the slot.

    609933

Hey, pass that. Pass the pipe man.

    2nd best clutch receiver?

    Open in the seems?

    Run blocks like a FB?

The guy is the all time leader in the NFL for dropped balls on third down! (ok I may have just made that up)

He's open because he can't catch the ball.

  12. this has been a great game... but Canada has to score  :w00t:

    608931

Again I find myself questioning your knowledge of hockey.

That was far from a great game. At least for Canada. What I saw was a team that looked slow and old. Couldn't figure out the wider ice surface, showed significantly less talent than the Russians and most importantly, far less desire than them. They had no jump and showed zero cohesion.

I'm afraid the weiner and his crew grossly overestimated their picks for this team.

    Draper? Really?

    Again, Draper, really????

Pronger looked like a total bust and should have been benched before this game.

To many guys gave nothing. I don't know how much of this is Quinn, or how much of this is weiner's choice of players.

I can't say that it's because we didn't get any practice time as a team because the same thing would apply to other teams and to us in other years also. So that will not be the crutch.

I personally will lay most of the blame with weiner and his boys choices. Including choosing Fat Pat for coach! But after winning it all in Salt Lake, I guess he owed Quinn that much.

Side note: did you see Pavel Bure in the Russian contingent? Didn't he look like a perfect little comrade?? :w00t: I assume he lives over there since retiring because he didn't have any New York flair about him. Moscovite yes, NY, no :w00t:
