  1. There is only one thing potentially wrong with Jones and his future with the Bills. People here are pointing to 2018 as his potential coming out party. Hopefully those folks are right, but, if this organization simply sits and waits on the QB position that will be a colossal blunder. They need to turn over every rock between now and 2018. Draft & FA need to address the position. Most importantly the organization needs to realize that they must overvalue the position. If they like a guy in the second they better be prepared to take him late first. Give a qb a 3rd round grade you better be prepared to take him in the second. This organization has for too long stood back and waited for a qb to come to them...that doesn't work. See your guy...go get your guy or else you'll lose out.
  2. I'm far from the smartest person in the room, but, I never pretend to be. Jones'organization is light years ahead of the Bills in many ways & I'm not too proud to admit that. You and others have decided what a gm should do on a day to day basis. Me? I'm willing to look at the guys title, look at his organization and say "I wish we had that." Results matter. How Jones spends his time really doesn't. He's given himself the title and that's good enough for me. Regarding your statement about me calling someone a dick...I sincerely apologize for that. Please quote that post so that I can apologize to that person (personally). That's out of character for me and drink must have been involved.
  3. I get what you are saying. He's Vince Young except that Jones couldn't hold down a job in college.
  4. In your opinion maybe. In reality not so much. I'm giving him credit for being a better GM than Whaley. YOU are the one who is deciding what a GM should/shouldn't do. You are the one who needs to be smarter than everyone else here. Me? I'm looking at the cowboys website and I see GM by the man's name. That cinches it for me. Perhaps it is Doug Whaley who is not doing the job that the title is giving him credit for.
  5. This thread is about two NFL GMs. One has done a superior job to the other. You are off on some tangent about the cowboys personnel department. does he meet with his players? I hate owners who do that. he never said that
  6. Your point is off point and irrelevant to this topic. (and I am not offended, it takes quite a lot to offend me)
  7. At what point does that have anything to do with this topic? But, please keep on firing those witty responses. Jones is the GM. Whaley is the GM. One GM has outperformed the other. That is what this thread is about. http://www.dallascowboys.com/team/staff/roster/jerry-jones
  8. I don't think that means what you think it means.
  9. Yup. The wife calls that note harassment? It's nothing of the sort, a minor inconvenience maybe. She got what she wanted; people are feeling sorry for her and her husband.
  10. Finally, a Bills decision that you agree with.
  11. Why are you grasping at this silly straw? The title states that JJ is a better GM than Whaley and you keep falling back on this one thin thread...but, but, but, Jerry isn't in charge of the draft!!!!! He calls the shots and he is in charge of whatever the heck he wants to be. Just like Jones has outperformed Whaley he has also outperformed our owners, but, that's a thread for another day. (please don't bring up history with Jones...ours is much, much worse)
  12. You're right, Manziel's.250 winning percentage is dwarfed by fellow first rounder EJ Manuel, a Doug Whaley pick, who checks in with a whopping .375. We should be so !@#$ing proud. It is nice to see you finally be critical of the Bills. You're not the only one doing it, so no offense, but, isn't a sign of a superior leader that she/he surround her/himself with quality people who make it possible for the entire organization be successful? Your point will have some merit when Whaley's son is the brains under the throne.
  13. I get lost in posts like this, but, what I get from you is that you believe that at the end of their careers Morris and Elliot will have similar statistics. That is not likely to be true. Jones is GMing for the long haul...it would be nice to see the Bills follow suit rather than signing stopgap players like Alexander.
  14. There's plenty of blame to go around. No reason to limit your question to either or.
  15. More coffee needed, I didn't see the "MMQB" before the unquoted portion of your post.
  16. He's good enough to overcome 23 accepted penalties, but, keep running him down. It does, and the Bills have failed miserably in addressing the most important position on the field.
  17. Yup, that's an organization that's never gotten anything wrong.
  18. I did answer your question. The Bills under valued him. All that matters is that they placed a lower value on him than the cowboys did. Numerous examples of this year after year.
  19. The Bills had him on their board. They undervalued him. Don't cherry pick, read the whole statement. Year after year, QB after QB and what do we have to show for it?
  20. What you say is true, but, it has nothing to do with this topic. This team has missed on umpteen QBs and it sucks. Until the powers that be begin to understand that they are undervaluing the position, or just plain missing on player after player, nothing will change.
