  1. I paid attention to Trump’s many large group events. I liked Herman Cain and I never mocked Biden’s small gatherings. Biden may mess up a mask here or there but he is unlikely to be holding large non distant maskless events for a while. And he’s already acting consistently with his messaging.
  2. I recognize where it comes from but it's just pretentious. Allowed, but pretentious. Almost, but not quite as bad, as attorneys who append Esq. after their names. That thankfully seems to be going out of vogue.
  3. I haven't seen any consistent messaging at all from Trump in terms of promoting intelligent behavior. Large indoor maskless gatherings are not recommended by any credible scientist.
  4. Nothing. It should all be voluntary unless the hospitals break.
  5. For those keeping score at home, the author of that "report" Ramsland is the author of famous (infamous) Ellis/Powell/Wood lawsuit Exhibit 17 (17 being the letter Q) that mixed up MI and MN counties to conclude more people voted than could live in said counties. He's SUPER credible.
  6. Your life is good. Call out bad behavior. You've done it to me and I am thankful for it.
  7. That is part of the solution but it's not a full solution.
  8. While I totally agree that PhD doctors who insist on "Dr" are pompous-sounding, the only thing that really moves me here is that some moron thought this was a worthwhile letter to write to the WSJ. The Journal only published it to get eyeballs.
  9. No--but again--that's part of a deal that is offered. If the government wants to exchange military or other service time in exchange for $$, that's a totally different thing than just burning up the obligation and passing payment of it on to me.
  10. Yeah, there was a time when defaulting on an obligation/promise was something to be ashamed of and that others would call them out on. Now if you don't pay a debt, welch on a bet, etc, many don't care. It's up to you and me to raise the standard.
  11. That's a lot of wackiness. Choosing to accept to pay interest is a choice. It's as immoral as eating the third slice of pizza. Anyone can choose--or not--to incur interest. It's not forced on anyone. And if you accept the obligation of a loan with interest, that's on you the borrower. We live in a time when, thankfully, we don't jail people for unpaid loans. But the obligation for not paying is financial, reputation, pain, and some loans just follow you. So what? Again: People are free to contract or not. I am not paying cash for my new car and am happy that Toyota is giving me 1.9%. That's my choice and it works for me.
  12. Yup, it's not complicated. No sacred cows when it comes to unacceptable behavior.
  13. Heaping bad on bad is not good. The sitting POTUS has actively tried to overturn an election because he lost. Call out all the BS, not just some of it. To quote you, "Come on Man!"
  14. Or they did, then they got lifted. I am against them BTW.
  15. Yes, I also remember posters here telling us how this was going to bottom out, T cell immunity, etc. They have all gone into hiding.
  16. Yeah, the sitting president is suing to overturn elections with evidence that doesn’t hold up in courts and calls state legislators to convince them to send different electors and more. I’d say that’s a threat to democracy. Just because the courts, governors, and legislators held firm doesn’t mean that a potus and his supporters were no threat.
  17. No and neither is the Zodiac Killer but I don’t want him as my president. Threatening democracy is not a way to clean up corruption.
  18. We have a lot people conspicuous in their silence too. Leaders in the R party who are taking the limp stance offered by Lehnard that they did not take in 2016, and despite 57 (?) court losses, the sham press conferences, and the appeal to Twitter evidence. It’s sad. If our democracy dies at the hands of the Trumpists, what a hero to follow into the depths.
  19. More peace and prosperity than ever. Yet you yearn for violence. Do you think there might be another way?
  20. He's got a history of posting violent stuff apparently against racial groups under his name as the dude. He got banned here and is welcome at the new place. Just fyi.
  21. Federal officials have said they expect to be able to vaccinate the bulk of the U.S. population by the middle of next year, but recent setbacks have challenged those estimates. Pfizer has told the federal government that it may not be able to provide an additional 100 million doses to the United States before the middle of next year because of agreements it has with other countries.
  22. Head of the Texas GOP, the (perhaps now former) Party of Lincoln:
