  1. I can't say I ever gave up on my Bills...though after the second loss to the Patriots, I called the the new 90's Bengals and changed my fantasy team (that was floudering horribly with the same record as the Bills) to Coach Mularkey... then a miraculous turnaround occured for both the Bills and my fantasy team
  2. i've had trouble sleeping all week... and it's only wednesday
  3. i posted this in the PPP board, but figured most of you don't visit there so here it is again
  4. I forgot my friend from high school went to Phuket for Christmas quite a narrow escape for him and his family from his blog Sunday, December 26, 2004 7:47 AM So today my family and I went out on a boat to visit Phiphi island, a tourist spot off the coast of Phuket. After an hour boat ride, we arrived but couldn't land because of turbulent waves, supposedly caused by some earthquake. We didn't think much of it...although there was debris around the coast and the place looked a little run down, it didn't look like there had been a lot of damage. If anything, we were more concerned that we had wasted an hour riding out there and would now have to turn back. It turns out that Phiphi island had been wiped out by an earthquake in Indonesia, resulting in over 200 people killed on the island itself and scores dead or missing on the main island of Phuket. Apparently the tidal waves hit both islands while we were on route to Phiphi...as we arrived back in Phuket I saw an ugly scene of capsized boats and wrecked piers. If the waves hit as we were leaving Phuket or while we were on Phiphi, we could have been wiped out. Instead, we were hardly affected since we were out at sea at the time, too far out for tidal waves to form. What timing. People on the beach of Phuket were swept away...the beachside restaurant where we ate xmas eve dinner isn't there anymore. Anyway, we ended up having to wait four hours to get home because roads were flooded...a small price to pay for narrowly escaping death. Thank you God for looking out for my family and I.
  5. i started the fantasy football season 0-3 like the bills (didn't follow them to 0-4 because of the bye i won the week they lost the first time to NE)...anyhow, after that, i followed the Bills W-L exactly (lost when they lost to the jets and ravens)...when the Bills got blown out of the water completely by NE the second time, i got completely fed up...was convinced the Bills season was over just like my fantasy season, so i changed my team name to Coach Mularkey...from then on, my team went on a ridiculous tear...i went on ridiculous 4 game tear (winning by huge margins like the bills thanks to the emergence of moose, pittman, wayne and julius jones at the right times) and literally eeked into the playoffs at 8-6 in a "other teams must lose" situation... made it into the championship and lost however...finished second place in the league after starting off dead last for the first 3 weeks i dunno how this championship loss bodes for the bills season
  6. i think they're still saving up for that invasion...god forbid something like a huge natural disaster and people in need prevent them from their god given quest to take over a small island
  7. I'll have the yahoo box score refreshing every 30 seconds
  8. there should be alot of super bowl vets left on the rams...hopefully they know how to step it up to fight for their playoff lives next week...
  9. boy did i get in on this thread late... my father seems to have got out just in time along with a whole conference of earthquake engineering researchers as there was an earthquake conference in thailand last week he's perfectly safe now, but i can't get him on the phone to talk about it now as he has alot of work to do now

  12. wasn't worth the booth's time to review the call for the pathetic 49ers
  13. I never really liked that movie until this year. Problem with the Chinese singing scene..chinese people can pronounce "L"'s as it's in their alphabet...they can't pronounce R's as that particular sound isn't exactly in their alphabet (similar sound exists...dunno why they can't pronounce it)...hence, flied lice
  14. i did for a while...i didn't like something about it though and just went back to POP

  21. according to the Chrysler CEO "it's the shizzle" i believe that's enough reason to avoid the car as for mercedes engineering, well mercedes and VW put out the most lemon on the road these days...they're living off of the previous luxury reputation...the big 3 were thrilled last year when they found that their cars finally overtook the germans in reliability...still light years behind the japanese though see consumer reports regarding mercedes and chrysler reliability...extremely poor
  22. that was hilarious...he wound up and heaved it...and it didn't go very far
