I didn't see this posted yet so I thought I'd share. It's an article on The Athletic so it's behind a paywall but I'll cut and paste a few bits and pieces.

Shaq Lawson - Joe predicts the Bills will get a long-term deal done with him before free agency. Quote...

"Signing Lawson would benefit the Bills in a few ways. They would be rewarding a young, vocal leader who has grown immensely under their watch. They would also be sending a message through the locker room that it doesn’t matter whether a player was brought in under the current regime; hard work, a good attitude and production are more important to them."

Wouldn't Shaq be the only player still here from the previous regime?  Not sure how much the locker room would actualy benefit from this message.

Good guy, amazing that he was a head coach for 3 different NFL teams, 2 after he quit on the Bills.

It's odd that he went 9-7 two years in a row with the Titans and still got fired anyway after making it to the divisional round of the playoffs his last season. Going 9-7 is what the Titans do.

Not that I ever thought he was a great HC, but he got a bum deal being fired after that season.  If I remember correctly, there were also a couple of questionable calls in favor of the Patriots that helped put the divisional game out of reach.

I respected Mularkey for quitting on the Bills.  He didn't have another HC job lined up; he just didn't want to be a part of the circus sideshow that OBD had become.  A man must have principles.

I had the same thought. You bring in Winston; yeah, that's a message. It's highly likely he'll be starting somewhere, whether it be TB(most likely) or elsewhere.

If Case Keenum is gonna upset the apple card, that's a problem.

With JA's propensity to run and the Bills strong defense, a viable backup could very well end up making a difference if an injury were to occur. Barkley crumbles under pressure and is EASILY upgraded.

The Bills should be in the business of WINNING football games.

Well said.  I can't get behind the idea that we're just going to lose if Allen goes down.  The Saints went 5-0 with Bridgewater ($7M), Tannehill's ($2M) Titans just sent the Pats home, and Nick Foles ($4M in '17) was a Super Bowl MVP.  We can & should better our situation.

  4. From his nfl.com draft profile:

"His tape has no middle ground, it's either really impressive or really ugly. Now go look at his production this year and you realize you can coach some ugly out of his play. He's a '5' right now but we can turn him into a '9.'" - AFC defensive coach

Here's hoping the unnamed AFC defensive coach is one of ours & he knows what he's talking about.

Um ok....so if you listened to either Beane or McDermott’s press conference, they clearly believe in Josh Allen 100%

They aren’t going to do anything to mess with him like signing a higher profile backup QB like Winston or Keenum.  It’s not going to happen.

I think they are ok with Barkley as a #2 QB for 1 more year.  Depending on what Josh does in year 3 will determine what the team does at QB

I wouldn't consider Keenum's profile to be anywhere near as high as Winston's.  If the presence of a competent journeyman backup is going to shake Allen's confidence, then we have a much bigger problem than backup QB.  I don't believe that's the case.

Just referring to a few years back when Josh Norman lol hit free agency. There was talk about him not being worth the $$ because he was primarily a zone corner. Anyway, I think Tre is a much better player than Norman

Agreed, and I also think Tre has much less of a drug problem than Josh Gordon.

  7. This has gone too far.  I remember simpler times, when angry fans would just spray paint a phallic symbol on the player's lawn & get on with their lives.  The most Cody deserved for the game was a simple ring & run, and only because no one should ever be considered exempt from that.

Whoever said that needs to be reminded we draw penises on lawns of players who make poor plays...

    Darn, I should've read page 3!

I find it hilarious that no one has created a thread about that single play.

Or perhaps his "Hail Mary" pass he threw up for grabs while in OT in a playoff game.

That is "can't happen" stuff and it's still happening from him.

And then the late throws, the fumble problems, the blitz problem, the reading defenses problem, the accuracy problem, the long ball problem....

    How long does he get?!

Both of those plays were horrific; it was as if someone pressed the self destruct button on Josh Allen.  He improved quite a bit in year 2, but he looked like a rookie in the 2nd half last night, complete with a look of panic on his face at all times.  Here's hoping we don't see THAT Josh again.
