I am just taking the season as it unfolds. I believe in McDermott and Beane to turn this team into a consistent winner. McDermott has a way to refocus this team and not let them give up in the face of adversity. He is a special coach.
Beane has made some mistakes. But he has had a good draft and has made some good moves as well. We just need to endure this season and there will be better days ahead for our beloved Bills.

The Bills will:
- Win each remaining game (with an emphatic win over the Pats in their house)
- Josh Allen will average 250yds 1-2 td passes a game
- Defense remains #1
- We go 9-7 and make an even crazier entrance into the Playoffs than last year
- We win a game in the play-offs but lose divisional game
- Greatest in-season turnaround in Bills history is complete
Now you have done it. I am all in!!!

It amazes me with how bad we are at the position how fast we get rid of a freshly signed WR. Yet we still keep KB. Go figure. I know he didn't do anything and I am not upset about it or anything, but still. They aren't giving these guys any kind of chance and yet sit there keeping an obviously heartless bum that drops pass after pass, td after td, making no effort.
I like McDermott as a coach, but he seems to have a blind spot for certain players. Unfortunately KB is one of them.

I think what the Jets game showed us is that if we have a quarterback that can play at an average NFL qb level, our talent on offense can be better than we thought. Yes, we do need upgrades at wr, and the oline, but we may have underestimated this group's abilities.

I think it is legit for what it is. Given the number of turnovers, 3 and outs, and the general lack of ball control the offense has experienced this season, for our defense to lead the league in the fewest yards allowed is an amazing accomplishment.

Who in their right mind would care what Rex Ryan thinks or says. He is a buffoon.

He had a nice game. His first catch set the tone for the day. Let's just see how he develops. He is very young. I don't think any of us can accurately product his ceiling.

Does anyone who wants to continue to play Barkley if Josh is healthy, honestly believe that Barkley is the future of this team?
I understand the need for immediate gratification and winning now, but that's not what this year is about. Disagree all you want with the strategy and the vision, but starting Matt Barkley if Josh is healthy would be crazy. By sitting Josh, the Bills would go into the offseason with a high draft pick and not knowing whether QB was a need or not. I would rather know a bit more. Six live games of reps is a lot of evaluation....
If Josh shows some critical flaws these last 6 weeks, it's not that terrible to draft competition with a high pick. Josh is on a Rookie deal -- if he plays for the Bills in 2019 his cap hit is about $6.8 million to cut him before 2020. Josh was the least polished, least experienced QB of the top 5 (including Lamar Jackson) in the draft. He needs reps. For the upteenth millionth time,.... this season is about assessing Josh Allen, not about winning games, particularly at 3-7.
There are valid arguments for starting Barkley against the Jags. First, after his over the top performance against the Jets, I will be tough for Allen to come in and perform at the same level as Barkley after four weeks of inactivity. I may be better to let Barkley start, and if we build a comfortable lead, let Allen come into a non pressure situation and start to shake off the rust. another reason to start Barkley is it would give the team a chance to go back to their original desire to have Allen learn from the sidelines for a year. I am not saying I am in favor of this, but these are to valid arguments for starting Barkley in the next game. This conversation is a non issue since McDermott already announced Allen will be the starter if he is healthy.
As for your first question, I do not believe many on this board view Barkley as our future franchise qb. I do hope that he fills the position as the veteran backup. He was a breath of fresh air on Sunday. That was fun to watch.
Go Bills!

Makes sense to me except I wouldn't bother with a PS spot for Peterman.
Agreed. No team will pick up Peterman. He will be available if we need him... for what I don't know.

Did Anderson have a reputation as a good mentor before arriving in Buffalo? Is this just a fan thing? Why is anyone convinced he would be a better mentor than Barkley?
He is older, there for he must be better...Right?

Seriously, Anderson seems to really into being Allen's mentor. He was sitting with him throughout the game. he seemed to be explaining reads and fine points of the game after most plays, alt least what you could see.

Anybody wanna sign up for 7-7 heading to Foxboro?
As I said in another thread, all of our remaining games are winnable. If our defense keeps playing strong , and if we can have even an average offense, we should be in most games. Hopefully, by the time we play the Patriots, they will be resting players for the playoff push....who knows what can happen?
We could finish 8-8, but that would mean we win all the games texcept vs the Pats, and that won't most likely happen. A 6 or 7 win season would be respectable.

I believe they were just building a case for their outlook toward Peterman. I am a person of faith, and maybe that helps motivate me to try to be a better person, but I know many nice people who are not people of faith.
If there is a social bias regarding Christians, it is becoming a negative. Christians are stereotyped as being smug, homophobic, ultra conservative, and narrow minded. That is not the case with most people of faith that I know. Most are just flawed people searching for answers.

Yes, cut Benjamin and use that roster spot to keep Allen Barkley and Allen's mentor Anderson.

Very good post. People can say what they want but i enjoyed the game and that's all that matters. I made a thread but no one seems to care...do you think panchos speech had an affect on the players?
Yes. With the season we have had so far, this was very enjoyable. Go Bills!

Coach McD has a strange tendency to win games at crucial junctures of his tenure when criticism hits a high point. Three examples immediately come to mind in his 26 games coached:
Last season in Week 12, after 3 straight losses (and 2 blow outs), McD beats Kansas City on the road to put Buffalo over .500.
This year, after 2 blow outs to start the season, Buffalo goes to Minnesota and convincingly took down a Vikings team that some talked about as a SB favorite.
And now, with their 4th starting QB of the season (who was a street FA signing) an anemic offense, and having lost their last 4 games, the Bills beat go to NY and beat the Jets by 31 points.
In each game, I cannot imagine most fans expected a win, particularly considering these were road games. Nor do I believe this team is turning a corner all of a sudden. I'm merely stating that he gets wins when criticism mounts and I'll give credit where credit is due.
It's all part of the process.

Pancho Via deserves all the props he is receiving. He represents the true spirit of Bills fans. It is really nice to see this class act get some recognition instead of the moronic Bills fans diving into burning card tables.
You are in our prayers Pancho.

I love this post. You have to respect the character of our defense. They have been playing at a consistently high level with little to no support from the other side of the ball.
Let's hope the offense can catch up to the defense next season.

I am not sold on KC. Andy Reid teams seem to put up great regular season records and come up short in the playoffs. The Rams look great, but this could be the Saints year. It is easy to pull for Drew Brees.

3-7 in 14th place in the AFC. Play Allen who is the QB who represents the future.
Could be the case. It will be an interesting two weeks of conjecture until the starter againstvthe Jags is announced.

Hot hand? One game does not qualify as a hot hand from my vantage point. Play Barkley for what purpose? Playoff race or future of the franchise? It's neither of these. What pressure is on Allen with the Bills sitting at 3-7? None. He needs to gain as much valuable experience as possible this season.
What quarterback had looked better for the Bills this year. A performance like Barkley had against the Jet most certainly qualify as a hot hand in my understanding of the phrase. Not sure why you want to focus on semantics. The point is, if Barkley gives us the best chance of winning, he should start. Why put Allen in the position to live up to Barkley's success against the Jets. He has enough pressure on him. We have an opportunity bring Allen along at a slower pace that may be beneficial to his development. What is wrong with trying to win games? You may feel this is a waisted season, but if we could go 7-9 or even 6-10, that would be something to build on and could enhance our ability to attract more talented free agents. Just my opinion.

There is wisdom in playing the "hit hand". Start Barkley after the bye week. If Barkley reverts back to his performance from previous seasons, start Allen the following week. Allen could benefit from playing some mop up duty with less pressure on him.

Keep Anderson as the third qb. He seems to be really focused on being Allen's mentor. Did anyone notice he was in Allen's ear all game long?

We have the easiest schedule in the NFL the rest of the year. I fully expect this team to ***** up their draft order and win 3 more games
Agreed. If you look at the last six game any of them are winnable. I am not saying we will go 6 - 0 to close out the season, but with solid quarterback play who knows what this team can accomplish?

Thank you Seahawks. (they also stole the 12th man recognition from us)
