What continues?  He commented back at someone comparing him to another player.  Don’t tell me you think this means he’s hinting at a trade to Pitt lmao

Strange to me that a Steeler fan thinks that Diggs could be the last piece of the puzzle to solidify their WR room while a Bills fan wants to remove the best piece of the puzzle in our WR room - presumably because of tweets.

Ah the old “running them out of town” argument. Because Brandon Beane and Stef are deciding their futures based on TBD commentary.

This is the same type of comment we got with Trent and Fitz and Tyrod and Mario Williams all the other dudes who sucked who got “ran out of town by the fans.” Spoiler alert: they still ***** sucked after they left.

Let’s make it simple. If you are going to make the argument that the fans are “running a player out of town,” that’s proof positive the player sucks. You are admitting Diggs sucks.

    Do you think Diggs sucks?

yes the red wings have lost 2 straight. Their fans must not be too happy right now.

It's worse than that - Red Wings have lost 7 straight. Meanwhile my Islanders have been shutout twice in a row after they won 6 straight. I had left them for dead before the win streak, then was high as a kite last weekend - it's a roller coaster.

Still time for the Sabres to make a playoff push when your chasing teams like the Red Wings and Islanders.

I didn’t realize the importance of this game until after it was already over and I heard the announcers say the Sabres are 3 points out of a playoff spot. I wasn’t sure I heard them right so I rewound it and listened again. Then googled the NHL standings to verify for myself 😂

Guess maybe it’s time to start paying attention to the Sabres again. I’ve been so checked out the last couple months. I did see part of Byram’s first game, and part of the redwings game. Then I actually watched the 2nd and 3rd period of tonight’s game. They were playing good hockey. I just hope it’s not too little too late again.

In addition to beating the Islanders, they also got help with the Red Wings and Flyers losing.

10cc... 1st American tour in over 30 years. If this were anywhere near here I'd for sure check it out.

Gouldman is the only founding member to appear on every 10cc project, but the current lineup includes two other legacy members: Drummer Paul Burgess initially came on board in 1973 as a touring member before officially joining in time for 1977's Deceptive Bends. Guitarist Rick Finn arrived shortly thereafter, performing on 10cc's 1977 concert recording Live and Let Live.

Someone posted this in a music thread awhile back. A great version of of the original (1975)  by (presumably some) band members in 2011

  6. I'm sure I've shared this before, but I just found out that Dweezil is touring again and it's likely he'll play this so forgive me.

One of my guilty pleasures is Frank's extended guitar solos. Dweezil crushes this one imo:

Just learned that Dweezil will be playing at my local venue celebrating the Apostrophe and Roxy Live albums - happy to see that whatever legal impediments to playing Frank's music have been overcome. Dweezil has always been cool about highlighting his Dad's albums from anniversary years and these were both from 1974. Can't wait.

And then I have a conundrum. On May 3 I had every intention of seeing Queensryche and Armored Saint at the same local venue as Dweezil with my heavy metal friends. Just found out that the Scofflaws (local ska band with a modicum of success but mostly unknown) will be playing the same night at a local bar.  There's a venn diagram of friends who would go to both, gotta figure that one out.

I'm so disappointed that injuries took away such a great and fun Bill from us.

I remember sharing a clip of some of Tre's on-field antics with a Jets fan and he thought it was awesome. Good times.

    Winning record is above .500.

.500 is neither winning or losing.

For most leagues the collective winning percentage is .500. Not so with the NHL where the collective winning percentage is currently (assuming I did the math right) at .560.

Logically I have a problem with having more winning teams than losing teams. Emotionally I'm not OK with handing out a winner 'trophy' based on same.

I love hockey, but I stopped looking at wins/losses/ties awhile ago. Points and games played/remaining are what matter to me - and yes I understand that a regulation win counts more than an OT win for tie-breaker - for now I put that in the same category as many NFL tie-breakers, be aware but worry about it when it matters.

    Fair enough.

But why is it a loser point? Why not a Winner point? After ties were abolished, they went from 2 point games to 3 point games if the game reached OT.

They should all be 3 points now.

    3 Reg

    2 OT/SOW

    1 OT/SOL

All good, but then how do you define having a winning record? Usually it's more wins than losses and there's a tacit assumption - at least on my part - that there will be as many teams with winning records as there are with losing records. Not the case with the NHL. It devalues the notion of having a winning record IMO.

Such a great sport, and such a badly run league.

Not sure exactly why you think the league is run so badly - but if your point is that teams are incentivized to play for a tie towards the end of tie games I agree.

  12. This doesn't qualify as backyard birding, but back in January my two sons and I were playing a round of disc golf at Heckscher State Park on Long Island - it's right on the Great South Bay. It was a foggy day to begin with that got progressively worse and then as it got late in the day and was getting dark visibility was ridiculously low. The course was empty and there were no bikers or dog walkers. Not gonna lie - it was getting kind of creepy without what happened next.

Walking between holes there's a marshy area that you cross and all of a sudden to our left we here this extremely loud noise, look over through the fog and can barely make out a freaking huge bird taking off to fly away from us. I'm gonna guess it was 10 yards away but it all happened so fast and was so disconcerting that I can't say for sure - except that this bird was freaking huge and close and the flapping wings was loud.

After consultation with an expert - my sister who does a lot of boating on the Great South Bay - the operative guess is it was a Great Blue Heron (up to 6 foot wingspan) but honestly there's no way to know for sure, could have been a pterodactyl as far as I was concerned.

    Good times.

  13. I've been following along at home cuz I think this is an interesting topic - and (like most topics) I'm not entrenched in the side I lean towards.

I lean towards distrusting the breed - but it's anecdotal, I've never actually witnessed a bad incident.   I have a friend with a pit rescue. He views the dog as a harmless adorable lap dog.  I view it as a dog that has a generally good temperament, but could be better disciplined - but cuz it's a pit I wonder if it'll go off the deep end if it's unhappy. I actually put the dog in it's place a few months ago. My friend thought the dog felt offended, I wondered whether I had crossed it's line  - nothing happened but I do not trust that dog, Very few breeds that I feel that way about.
