I love Beane but the guy is human. I'm with the posters who thinks two 4th to move up to get Knox is a bit expensive. Is it a big deal? Probably not. But that is two less chance to hit for a starting player which is very likely in the 4th.

    Go Bills!

I mentioned in a different thread, I think part of the Bills decision here was not just getting Knox, but #### blocking New England from getting him. Which if true, makes the price seem more reasonable.

Beating New England at their own game...priceless.

We'd be purchasing to enjoy the land ourselves. No exact plan yet, but we'd extend our backyard another .5 acres or so, plant some fruit and/or nut trees and likely lease out the rest to a local farmer to cover some of the taxes. The purchase would MOSTLY be to, as you say, ensure our own privacy and enjoyment.

I once owned 40 acres of pasture with road frontage.

I highly encourage you to lease out the entire part you don't use for yourself to a local farmer. Land that is currently worked and tillable retains high value. Unused land that is starting to get saplings, will decrease in value. I had a guy come in once a year and harvest hay--it kept the land as a working farm, and also gave me money to cover the taxes. Don't ever let it grow to the point a bush hog won't cut it.

I don't have NYS experience, so can't help you with cost calculations.  Surf here https://www.unitedcountry.com/farmsforsale/  and here https://www.landandfarm.com/  for comps.

Good luck, it sounds like a great investment.

And everyone on earth was surprised that the Chiefs traded up to get Mahomes.  Don't act like it was a given.  Far from it.

PTL.. can we get that engraved on a monument stone? So we can reference that every time someone says "But Mahomes"?

  4. My my my.. how the world changes.

In 1999, when I had DirecTV and Sunday Ticket it was da bomb. Customer support, compared to cable, was outstanding.

DirecTV was the place to be. Now, apparently, it sucks. It would be a good case study for an MBA class.

Today, I have Verizon Fios and will until you pry it from my cold dead hands. Yes.. it's NFL coverage is lacking.. oh well.

You're tendentiously or erroneously failing to remark equivocity in language. Piety in the proper sense implies recognition of the inherent value and dignity of the other. The fact that religious zealots have committed all sorts of attrocious acts has nothing to do with how authentic piety would militate against any such action. Ascribing evil particularly to religious folks would also be injust and probably a culpable blanket statement as you don't appear to be brutishly stupid.

my education and professional accomplishments probably dwarf yours, so please be careful in tossing around words that you might not grasp exactly...  :D

    Cat fight.

Back to the thread.. here's an image of Kate Smith's statue being covered that is sure upset some people.

  6. UPDATE regarding the Human Trafficking angle: Prosecutors in Kraft Case Say No Human Trafficking Found

So those with their panties in a wad because Kraft was involved with trafficking slaves can step back from the guillotine.

Appears he was a widower looking for a NSA (no strings attached) handjob. I imagine NSA is hard for him to get from traditional sources.
