  1. Kroft will be the first test case as to all the healing doodads and gizmos in the new training complex.

Did I read there was a hypobaric device? That could accelerate fracture healing.

EDIT UPDATE: Yes the training center has a hypobaric room.

  2. I expect fewer interceptions this year.

    • He tried to be the hero when far behind scorewise; to wit his throws into coverage and failure to use checkdown. Expect closer scores, less heroics.
    • He has better targets.
    • He'll have more time.
    • I expect he's done something this offseason to improve accuracy.

  3. In serious response to OP...

Jim Kelly spent his first two seasons with the USFL Houston Gamblers, it was there he learned how to read defenses and make adjustments at the line of scrimmage. Then he entered the NFL and eventually learned to read and then skewer NFL defenses. Another good QB followed a similar path.. Kurt Warner did time in the Arena League and then NFL Europe.. then entered to NFL and eventually became a prolific passer.

Point being, becoming a great QB takes time and experience. Expecting a Jim Kelly like ability to call plays at the line of scrimmage and "Show Gun" from a second year Josh, regardless of Wonderlic, is a road to disappointment. Josh needs time to grow, I hope Bills fans are patient.

Having said that, I expect big things from a 3rd or 4th year Josh.. including no-huddle play calling.

  4. I'm starting to get uncomfortable with all the optimism and high expectations around here.

    • We are chock full of player talent--but many are new to each other and the system. They'll need time to gel as a unit.
    • The coaches are pretty much the same coaches as last year. You could view that as a positive in the continuity department, or you could view that as a negative in that their 2018 performance was meh.
    • Josh Allen is good no doubt. But it's too early to anoint him a great. He's going to make second year mistakes. He needs time as well.

I'm optimistic, though on a slower schedule than others around here.

  5. Not sure if the Buffalo News link is buried above.

The cost for a 20-person vehicle is $300, then $600 for a 40-passenger vehicle and $900 for a 60-person vehicle. That breaks down to $15 per passenger, and is paid in advance of a parking pass being issued.

Terry and Kim  had to do something. The Bills were getting deserved bad publicity. They had to do something to show they actively managing the game day environment-game day experience is a huge priority for the league.

  6. 2019: the on field talent is there, will the coaches get the most of this talent? I'd say the Bills coaching staff is average on a good day.

I don't know... can average coaches with superior players lead to more wins? Or do you need a red hot coaching staff to increase the win column?

As an armchair commentator, I'd say 2018 McDermott was average as a game day coach. As the roster improved, can 2019 McDermott improve his performance on game day?

  7. I agree with OP's original sense; though I add a slower timeline.

From my fan experience, it seems that offensive line players take time to gel together. If you do a change out on offensive line.. it will take sometime for the new guy to synch up and get used to each other. When you change multiple positions in one training camp (seems likely here) the problem is amplified.

I hope fans are patient when the starting unit may not be up to speed the first four of five games this year.

I expect a Top-5 offensive line in 2020. We'll see glimpses of it in late 2019.
