A couple of years ago Josh would confidently stand in the picket and throw. Yes, he would still break out and run when needed but I remember sometimes thinking… wow, he had great protection. I can only guess what has led to a now skittish, frustrated quarterback. 1. of course the offensive line seems to have regressed terribly. 2. Have defenses basically figured Josh (and our play calling out)? 3. Poor coaching I am interested in opinions. Hopefully this is fixable.

Huge coaching mistake to take the ball to start overtime. Better to rely on our defense holding them and getting better field position to start.

Going to take rollouts or Josh leaving the pocket. Pass rush will be intense

I have been very critical of Dion Dawkins due to what looks like a heavier, out of shape player. I have also questioned his commitment to being a serious top level player. I was really happy to read today’s article discussing his weight loss and commitment to having a great year. Was this a “fluff” piece or something to be appreciative of? Not sure, but I want to give him the benefit of the doubt,,, a good year from Dion could have a huge impact on our season .

Good points. I do question the strength of the Bills defensive front. I don’t think I would call it “strong”. Let’s see a pass rush and see if they can stop the run. As much as I’d like to see it, I have doubts.

Great write-up. I would add to the bad night list our kick offs. I don’t know if it is Bass or the coaching staff that is responsible (but my money is on the coaches). This has driven me crazy in prior years, also. Why in the world don’t we we kick it into the end zone? Bass certainly has the leg. It is like a ticking time bomb that we will have huge returns against us. Let the other team start at the 25. I think the risk of a long return greatly outweighs the potential of pinning them 5-10 yards deeper than the 25.

I guess I was thinking of moving on from him in the future (possibly next year). I realize that any move this year, unless we could work a trade with him going for another teams tackle would not result in our getting a quality player. I am just so disappointed in him I would welcome an opportunity for improvement ( but don’t have a solution).

He is not above average and is going to get Josh killed. Where did I suggest they trade him for draft picks and pick up street free agents?? But as long as you mention it…
